| Abstract: | Meiyou 138 is a new indica hybrid rice combination for late cropping season developed from the fine quality CMS line Mei A and the strong restorer line Ce 13-8 by Rice Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It is characteristic of fine grain quality, high-yielding ability, good blast resistance and wide adaptability. It was registered and released in Guangxi in December, 2001. The breeding procedure, major characteristics and applying techniques of cultivation and seed production of Meiyou 138 were introduced in this paper. |
