Variability of pathogenicity of peanut stunt virus (PSV) strains and their distribution in China

PSV Chinese isolates obtained from peanut, bean, black locust tree and False indigo in Hebei, Henan, Shandong provinces and Beijing area were divided into three groups on basis of pathogenicity to peanut, which were high pathogenicity, middle pathogenicity and low pathogenicity.The yield losses of peanut caused by PSV isolates from each group varied greatly. Diseased leaves infected by typical isolates from each group had different absorption value (OD) in indriect ELISA test. Most of PSV isolates from Henan and Hebei provinces belonged to low and high pathogenicity groups, respectively. However, the PSV isolates from Shandong province and Beijing area had all three types of pathogenicity.
