| Abstract: | Samples of Crassostrea gigas from an aquaculture farm located at Zhangpu,Fujian Province,were analyzed for microsatelite sequence variations at Ucdcg153,157 and 202 loci.The two samples（marked as Cg♀and Cg♂） were shown to have similar sequential variations at,or adjacent to,the repeat areas.They involved DNA bases between 23 and 40 of Ucdcg153,73-100 of Ucdcg157,33-55 and 130-147 of Ucdcg202.DNA sequential similarity between the two isoloci of Ucdcg202 was shown to be 97.3%.Results of this investigation revealed a serious inbreeding problem in local oyster hatchery.It is suggested that genetic consultancy be introduced into local aquaculture management,so as to help the farmers breed better oysters by applying appropriate hybrid techniques. |
