Abstract:Zhoumian No.6 is a new upland cotton cultivar.Its female parent is from the F1 of Si 331×Zhou R-3,and male parent is from the F3 of Lu 742×9708.After continuous selection in the segregating generation,we grained Zhoumian No.6.It was released by Henan Crop Variety Approval Committee in 2009.The average lent yield and that before frost were 1517.3kg/ha and 1430.3kg/ha and the average yield increase rate were 10.3% and 9.0% in Henan province regional trials during 2006 and 2007 respectively.The range of average increasing reached very significant level.In 2006 to 2007,the fiber quality was integrative with on upper half mean length 29.4mm,uniformity 85.5%,strength 27.9cN/tex,and Micronaire value 4.9.Zhoumian No.6 was high resistant to Fusarium wilt,and was tolerant to Vertillium wilt,and also high resistance to bollworm.The cultivar integrated the characteristics of high-yield,stable-yield,high quality and multi-resistance.The popularization and application will have a tremendous prospect.We also provided the brief cultivated techniques of the new cultivar here.
