| Abstract: | Hydrolysis of plant fiber means decomposition of the polysaccharides contained in plant fiber(including wood fiber) into monosaccharides which are further processed into finished products.There are three methods of hydrolysis:Hydrolysis by diluted acid through high pressure percolation,hydrolysis by concentrated acid and enzyme hydrolysis.The yield of hydrolysis by diluted acid is high.Besides,the process has been perfected.Hydrolysis by concentrated acid is expensive,and hasn't been of practical use.Enzyme hydrolysis can cause thorough hydrolysis of cellulose under room temperature.The process is simple,entailing less consumption of energy.Now the main hydrolytical products produced by industry are fodder yeast,alcohol,furfural and its derivatives,fodder syrup,xylitol,xylose,liquid carbon dioxide,dry ice,ignin phytostimulant and active carbon,etc. |
