Abstract:
Primary detection for antioxidation properties of the methanol extract from the peel and stone of Comas officinalis with the carotene bleaching method was followed by examining the antioxidation properties of both methanol extract and water extract from the stone in commercial soybean oil and lard with oven tests. Their protection factors (PF100) in soybean oil are 1.53 and 1.62 and those, in lard (PF20) are 2.50 and 6.50 respectively. It shows that antioxidation properties of these extracts in the above mentioned fat and oil are obvious. T wo antioxidation components, gallic acid and methyl gallate, have been isolated from the methanol extract of the stone. The results obtained with the oven test proved that their antioxidation properties in soybean oil and lard can compare favourably with BHA or BHT. Furthermore, the relationships between their antioxidation ability and the concentrations were inspected.
