民国“木薯县长”刘禹轮生平与著作考述

Life Experience and Works of Liu Yulun in the Republic of China

Liu Yulun was known as"the magistrate of cassava county"in the Republic of China.Both his parents were farmers and when he was young,he studied in the College of Agriculture,Sun Yat-sen University.After graduation,he served as president of a middle school,party secretary,county magistrate,and director of Agriculture and Forestry Department successively.When he served as magistrate in Fengshun County,because of his outstanding achievements in the promotion of cassava cultivation,he was called"the magistrate in cassava county".Liu Yulun wrote more than 40 articles in his lifetime,and topics can be roughly divided according to his age.In his early years of study and work,his style of writing was sharp,radical,and critical.During the period when he was in charge of Fengshun and the provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department,most of his articles offered suggestions and experiences for local or departmental construction and development.When teaching in Taiwan and after retiring,his articles focused on reviewing the past and summarizing his life experience.Collating his life experiences and writings will help to better understand him and his lifelong commitment to cassava promotion.
