Abstract:In order to reduce the mechanical damage of Olea europaea fruit during harvesting and transportation, the physical and mechanical properties of Olea europaea fruit were studied.Taking "Leccino" olive fruit as the research object, the geometric parameters, density, static friction coefficient, coefficient of restitution and elastic modulus of peel were measured, and the measurement results were analyzed by mathematical statistics.The results showed that the long axis of olive fruit was 15.44, 23.44] mm, the long diameter was 11.26, 16.03] mm, the short diameter was 11.00, 15.36] mm, the sphericity was 0.66, 0.89], the fruit shape index was 1.17, 1.83];according to the sphericity, the shape contour could be divided into ellipsoid and quasi spherical, the ratio was about 7:3;the single fruit weight was 1.46,2.31] g, the volume was 1.20,2.16] cm;, and the density was 1.01,1.24] g/cm;the relationship between the static friction coefficient of olive fruits was fruit-fruit>fruit-rubber>fruit-steel>fruit-polypropylene, the mean values were 0.507, 0.464, 0.364, 0.346;the relationship of collision recovery coefficient was: fruit-wood>fruit-steel>fruit-polypropylene>fruit-fruit, the mean values were 0.425, 0.399, 0.325, 0.298;This study can provide a basic theoretical basis for the establishment of olive fruit simulation model and the development of harvesting and transportation equipment.
