Adding NPN Supplement in Cows' Diet

【Objective】To learn about ’NPN’ feeding effect.【Method】24 similar age,weight,parity,lactation stage,daily milk yield cows were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups,each group had 12 cows."Ruminant animals ’NPN’ supplement",which produced by Shanxi modern agriculture research center and animal husbandry and veterinary institute,Shanxi academy of agricultural science,was used a 70-day application test.【Result】The test group produced 12,432 kg milk,while the control group was 12,054 kg.Milk yiled in test group is 378 kg more than that of the control group.The average fresh milk yield per cow per day was 0.45 kg more than the cows in the control group;The fresh milk price was 3.5 yuan/ kg,then the income increased by 1.58 yuan per cow per day.Test group used "ruminant animals ’NPN’ supplement" to substitute part of the protein feed of ration protein,then the cost of the feeding stuff in test group decreased 0.5 yuan per cow per day.For each individual per day a total of 2.08 yuan increased in average.【Conclusion】"Ruminants ’NPN’ supplement" used in dairy cows production had significant social and economic benefits,and it had a good prospect of application and extension.
