Practices of Vegetable Production Structure and Modes in Urban Area

Strong guarantee is provided for the safety and stability supply of urban vegetable production through innovation and adjustment of the structure and the urban vegetable garden modes.Three vegetable garden production modes should be promoted including efficient intensive production,eco-organic farming and leisure tourism type,based on the structural adjustment of vegetables suburban populations,stubble types and cultivation in the specific ecological regions of urban area.Plant factory,family farm,and mobile garden should be known as three special modes of urban vegetable production.The development of urban vegetable production is facing great challenges such as lacking of labor resources,shortage of land resources,water pollution and increasing environment pressure which need policy support,knowledge,innovation and technical elements.
