| Abstract: | A cationic sizing agent of self fixing type was synthesized from rosin,stearic acid,diethyltriamine and epichlorohydrin. The optimum conditions of synthesis were:the mole ratio of rosin to stearic acid 1 :1. diethyltriamine to total acid (resinic acid + stearic acid) 0. 6 :1,and the cationic reaction time 6-7 h.The CRS (cationic resinic stearamide) was heat steady,its sizing effect was not influenced by the pH and temperature of stock,but easily influenced by drying temperature. In suitable drying conditions,the sizing effect of CRS was equivalent to that of AKD. This sizing agent has no influence on the sheet strengths. Moreover, the bonding ability between fibers has been raised and the anti-aging ability has been taken place. |
