| Abstract: | The area, yield, distribution of peanut as well as the main techniques employed in peanut production in India are described in this paper. Variety degeneration, continuous monocropping of peanut, unimprovement in soil and rough management in fields are the key problems in Indian peanut production. Some new techniques such as polythene mulched peanut, water-saving irrigation and variety renewing are attempted in India. |
