Abstract: | As a gas phase all the monoterpenes and the sesquiterpene longifolene used in the present study inhibited the extension growth of Phytophthora cinnamomi and Fomes annosus. The forementioned compounds are constituents of ectomycorrhizal root systems of Scots pine. It is suggested that compounds of host origin play an important role in the disease resistance of ectomycorrhizal root systems. |
