Abstract:Astragalus membranaceus is one of the "ten most effective drugs". A new fungal disease of A. mongholicus was found in Dingxi, Gansu from 2017 to 2019. The symptoms in the field were premature death and the leaves did not fall off, the whole plant or its one side was ill, and the root vascular bundle became brown and necrosis. In order to identify the disease and its pathogenic fungi, the pathogen was isolated by tissue isolation method and identified by culture character, morphology, and rDNA-ITS. The result showed that the pathogen was Verticillium dahliae. This was the first report on A. verticillium and its pathogenic fungus, which provides a theoretical basis for controlling this disease in production.
