Ambient Temperature and Boar Fertility

Temperature is an important factor affecting the breeding performance of boars.Excessively high and low temperatures will result in decreased boar semen quality,libido,maternity sow pregnancy rate,litter rate and piglet survival rate,etc.So,it is an important measure to provide boars with suitable ambient temperature and avoid heat stress or cold stress to ensure health and reproductive ability.The article discussed the relation between ambient temperature and boar fertility by combining the mechanism of boar fertility affected by temperature,and proposed measures for holding appropriate temperature during the process of boar breeding manage ment.The paper provides a veference for choosing proper temperature parameter and for boar breeding management in the construction of boar breeding station.
