Abstract:A BioSonics DT-X digital scientific echosounder with 210 kHz split beam transducer was used to survey the Gymnocypris przwalskii abundance and spatial distribution in Qinghai Lake on August 10—13,2010.The results indicated that the average fish density was 1.83 ind./1000 m3,with the amounts were 1.42×108 ind.,and the catchable abundance was about 17771.23 t,at 16990.84 t~18551.62 t,with 95% confidence inteval.The horizontal distribution of G.przewalskii was inconsistently,and the results indicated that the maximum fish density located at the Buha estuary and Quanji estuary,and the average fish density were 6.04 ind./1000 m3 and 6.35 ind./1000 m3.The minimum fish density located at the area of 151 Base and fishing ground wharf,and the average fish density was 0.26 ind./1000 m3.For the vertical didtribution of G.przewalskii were also inconsistently at the same time.The results indicated that the G.przewalskii mainly distributed at 1~6 m water depth.The maximum fish density was 28.22 ind./1000 m3 located at the 1~6 mwater depth of Buha estuary,and the minimum was 0.02 ind./1000 m3 located at the 21~26 m water depth of Sankuaishi area.
