The Detection of Latent Ring Rot (Corynebacterium sepedonicum [Spiek. et Kotth.] Skapt. et Burks.) in Potato Stocks1
Authors:RA Lelliott  PW Sellar
Abstract:Very low numbers of Corynebacterium sepedonicum (Spiek. et Kotth.) Skapt et Burkh. in potato tubers can be detected by inoculating the bacterial fraction separated from cores (including the vascular tissue) taken from the heel end of tubers into young eggplants (Solanum melanogena). One tuber with simulated latent ring rot infection could be detected readily when mixed with 99 uninfected tubers.
