Breeding Report of A New Corn Variety Ganyu 23

Ganyu 23 was a new middle-late mature corn variety bred by crossing with the parental combination of Gan 1478 as female,Gan 3401 as male.In 2007,the average yield of Ganyu 23 was 12 501.0 kg/hm2 and 0.4% higher than of the check Jiushi 20 in corn variety region test of Gansu.In 2009,the average yield was 12 430.5 kg/hm2 and 1.5% higher than of the check Shengdan 16.The results showed that seed crude starch,crude protein,crude fat,ash,lysine content were 730.7 g/kg,119.5 g/kg,38.5 g/kg,10.7 g/kg,3.26 g/kg,respectively.In addition,Ganyu 23 was high resistant to red-leaf disease,resistant to stalk rot disease,moderate resistant to common smut.It is suitable to plant in the region of corn head smut non-endemic area of the effective temperature of more than 2 800 ℃,1 800 m above sea level,and in Wuwei Baiyin,Dingxi city of Gansu Province.
