Application of Biologically Slow Filtering Technique in the Rural Potable Water Safety Engineering Projects of Yichang

The biologically slowfiltering technique is suitable for the rural small and dispersed treat ment of potable water.Through analysis of the practices in Wufeng and Zigui counties,the technical characteristics and the water purification principle of the biologically slowfiltering are expatiated,and it is pointed out that the slowfiltering technique is a kind of water treat ment method which does not use any mechanical power and chemical agent.The water quality of this technique satisfies the potable water requirement.Compared with the same scale of water treat ment facilities,the technique can save 90 %of invest ment,and the construction is convenient.The tank structureis si mple,the operation and management are convenient,the water consumption rateis low,and the output water quality is good.Thus,it has a good application prospect in the rural potable water project of the city.
