土壤判读竞赛的重要性及其举办构想

本文介绍了美国大学生土壤竞赛和首届国际土壤判读竞赛的举办情况。结合中国土壤系统分类研究的新进展,在土壤判读竞赛的知识准备、人员组织以及竞赛的主办与认证等方面提出了一些建议。土壤判读竞赛的开展将促进相关本科课程的实践教学改革,长期来看,还能提高我国土壤分类研究的国际地位。

Importance of Soil Judging Contest and Its Hosting Plan

As an important approach to recognize soils, soil judging is one of the basic works for soil classification and soil geography projects. To conduct a national soil judging contest in China, could not only facilitate the wider adoption of internationally standard methods used in the Soil Taxonomy classification system, but also be helpful to cultivate more young students equipped with excellent field experimental knowledge for future soil series survey and soil mapping work. Moreover, soil judging contest could bring more undergraduate students with relevant majors interested in soil science, and thus help to improve the position of soil science as a basic discipline in the field of agricultural sciences and environmental sciences. There has no national soil judging contest been conducted in China yet. This paper briefly introduced the national collegiate soils contest in the USA, and the inaugural international soil judging contest hold in Korea. Combining with the latest progress of the Chinese Soil Taxonomy, some suggestions relating on knowledge preparation, community organization, as well as the hosting and attestation of a soil judging contest were given. The successful hosting of the soil judging contest might promote the experimental teaching reform on related undergraduate curriculums, and might also improve the international position of Chinese soil classification research from a long-term perspective.
