Research Advance in Swelling Soil

The swelling soil has much effect on the project,and is also one of causes of the geological calamity.Since it made a lot of great damage and project problems,the research and treatment of the swelling soil have become one of difficult technical problems in the field of geotechnical engineering and engineering geology in the world.In this paper,the research history,the main characteristic,main research substance,physical and mechanics property,classification,amendment approaches,developmental tendency and so on of swelling soil were reviewed,which reflected the research present situation of swelling soil and provided a reference to the theoretical analysis and experimental research for swelling soil.
