Abstract:The generation mean of 18 combinations of a partial diallel cross with nine parentswas analysed.There was a very significant genetic variability of protein and oil contentamong crosses,and the genetic effect was mainly additive.The difference among genera-tions and the interaction between cross and generation were not significant.The correlationamong generations were significant both within a year and among different years.Thegenetic modes showed that there was little evidence for dominance effect and dominance re-lated epistatic effect.The i] effect was found only in a few crosses for protein content.Seletion among crosses based on the early generation mean or on the mid-parent values see-med to be appropriate.
