Abstract: | Postnatally, the axial skeleton of the pig shows peaks of high relative growth at the sites of attachment of the fore and hindlimbs, corresponding to the regions of highest relative growth in the limbs. This supports the concept that musculoskeletal growth gradients are a propulsive adaptation. |
