Preliminary Analysis of the Man-caused Soil Loss in Qlxia County and Its Prevention and Harnessment |

| Abstract: | The mineral resources in Qixia county of Shandong Province is very rich, but severe soil loss was caused in mining of minerals. At present, the area of man-caused soil loss is 12. 91km~2, although it constitutes only 1% of the total area of soil loss, the amount of soil eroded comprises 12. 4% of the total soil eroded. Solid wastes are disposed from 3992 production and construction projects, totalling 1442000 m~3, a-mong which 127000 m~3 are directly discharged into river course or reservoirs. The mining area amounts to 3239000 m~2. In recent years, a series of prevention measures have been taken and through experimental work of harnessing small watersheds in mining area, some experience of controlling soil loss in mining area has been gained. |
