| Abstract: | This paper introduces the new technique that contour trench and ridge (hillside ditch) combined with cover crops replaces terrace so as to save labour in orchard management. The technique has many advantages, such as raising the utilization ratio of land, controlling soil erosion, improving ecological environment and soil physical and chemical properties, reducing cost and being favourable to realize the mechanization of steep land agriculture, etc. |
