ABSTRACT:   As part of a study to clarify the differences in the temporal change in K -value among fish species, the temporal change in K -value and the 5'-inosine monophosphate (5'-IMP) and p-nitrophenol phosphate (p-NPP) degrading activities in the red, pink, and white muscle fibers in the dorsal muscle of the carp were compared. The temporal change in K -value was fastest in red, followed by pink, and white muscle fibers, at both 0°C and 32°C. Moreover, the 5'-IMP and p-NPP degrading activities were highest in red, followed by pink, and white muscle fibers at near optimum pH concentrations. The 5'-IMP degrading activity at pH 7.0 had a positive correlation with the increasing rate of K -value at 32°C for all types of muscle fibers. These results suggest that differences in increasing rates of K -values between red, pink, and white muscle fibers corresponded to the 5'-IMP degrading activities.  相似文献

Mouse myeloma cells (SP2/O) were fused with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with detergent-solubilized antigen of purified virus, and 21 monoclonal (MC) antibodies reactive in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with the TO-163 strain of porcine transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) virus were obtained. Of these MC antibodies, 14, 6 and 1 were IgG1, IgG2a and IgM, respectively. All of the MC antibodies contained light chains of the kappa type. Of these MC antibodies, 8 were found to have neutralization (NT) activity against the TO-163 strain. Comparison of 7 strains of TGE virus by NT tests using our panel of MC antibodies confirmed their close antigenic relationships, but also revealed the occurrence of distinct antigenic differences. These results suggest that there may be at least 6 different epitopes involved in NT reaction on the virion of the TO-163 strain. This notion was confirmed by the competitive binding assay.  相似文献

Activities of aluminum-26 and beryllium-10 in marine sediment were measured at 0.01 +/- 0.13 and 4.4 +/- 0.9 disintegrations per minute, per kilogram dry weight, respectively. Only an upper limit of 0.03 could be determined for the ratio of aluminum-26 to beryllium-10 in the sediment. The ratio is probably explained by production by cosmic rays in the atmosphere.  相似文献

PCR-DGGE analysis followed by sequencing was conducted to estimate the succession and the phylogenetic profile of the eubacterial communities responsible for the decomposition of rice straw (RS) that was incorporated into a rice field. Leaf sheath and leaf blade parts were separately put in nylon mesh bags, and were placed in the rice field soil under drained conditions during the off-cropping season and under flooded conditions after transplantation of rice. In addition, RS samples that had been placed under drained conditions in the off-cropping season were placed again in flooded rice field soil after transplantation of rice. DGGE patterns of the bacterial communities in the RS samples were classified into two groups, namely leaf sheaths and leaf blades. Principal component analysis of the DGGE patterns revealed the succession along with the duration of placement. These results indicated that the RS part (sheath or blade) mainly determined the structure of the bacterial communities responsible for the RS decomposition, followed by the duration of placement. Sequence analysis of the characteristic DGGE bands indicated that most of the closest relatives associated with the bands belonged to α-, β-, γ-, and δ-Proteobacteria, CFB group, and Spirochaetes. Some bands were closely related to Acidobacteria and Verrucomicrobia. CFB members and α-Proteobacteria predominated commonly in both RS parts, while γ- and δ-Proteobacteria, and Spirochaetes and β-Proteobacteria specifically colonized sheath and blade parts, respectively. In addition, Proteobacteria and CFB members characterized the differences in the bacterial communities under flooded or drained conditions. These results suggest that Proteobacteria, CFB group, and Spirochaetes were responsible for RS decomposition in rice field soil under both flooded and drained conditions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: The present study compared and examined the characteristics of actomyosin among white (W), pink (P), and red (R) muscle fiber types in carp (cultured). Both the superprecipitation reaction and the Mg2+-ATPase activity of actomyosin became higher with increased Ca2+ concentration (pCa 7.0–pCa 5.0) and with decreased adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration (3.0–0.5 mM) in all three muscle fiber types. A comparison of the three fiber types shows that the superprecipitation reaction of actomysoin was lower in the order of W < P < R and, in contrast, was higher for Mg2+-ATPase activity in the order of W > P > R. A significantly positive correlation between both values was found for each of the three muscle fiber types, but these correlations were clearly different among the three muscle fiber types, and the superprecipitation reaction of actomyosin was lower in the order of W < P < R when Mg2+-ATPase activity was at the same level. In conclusion, the characteristics of actomyosin were remarkably different among white, pink, and red muscle fiber types.  相似文献
