A 4-year-old, neutered female Cocker Spaniel was presented to the veterinary clinic for protrusion of the left third eyelid. When the third eyelids from both eyes were everted, lobulated masses were present on the bulbar surface. The left third eyelid had a larger protrusion. There was no apparent associated ocular or systemic involvement. The tumor of left third eyelid was removed and referred for histological examination. Histologically, there were proliferations of lymphoid follicles surrounded by lymphoid cells forming a marginal zone. Those lymphoid cells occasionally infiltrated into conjunctival epithelium. A few apoptotic bodies with karyopyknotic and karyorrhexic nuclei were observed in the germinal center of lymphoid follicles. Mitotic figures were rare. On immunohistochemistry, tumor cells expressed CD79a but not CD3. A diagnosis of extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) of the third eyelid was established based on the histological and immunophenotypical features. At the 1-year follow-up, there was no evidence of recurrence of the mass at the area of excision of the left third eyelid and the remaining tumor of the right third eyelid was still a similar size. The dog still showed no significant findings, except those of the tumor, and no evidence of systemic involvement. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first reported case of MALT lymphoma of the third eyelid in a dog.  相似文献

In Japan, the soils in tea fields are further acidified by heavy application of nitrogen fertilizer. In the long-term fertilizer application fields, available P, total carbon and nitrogen contents had the highest in the Multi-F plot, followed by the 98-D.F plot and the smallest in the 95-D.F plot. Soil enzymes activity had the highest the Multi-F plot. It was estimated that all of the enzyme activity were often corresponded with the results of the organic matter and the available P contents. The number of fungi under acidic condition had the close relation since change of these enzymes activity. It was evident that fungi were participated in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus metabolism in acid tea field soils. It became clear that the number of fungi and enzymes activity decreased corresponding well with the available P and the organic matter contents depend on fertilization management. Moreover in case of qualities of green tea, generally difference between experimental plots and Multi-F plot were to be small. It was indicated that influence to the yields by curtailment of the amount of nitrogen fertilization was small.  相似文献

A dual-spectral camera system for paddy rice seedling row detection   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A new method is presented for detecting rows of rice seedlings to facilitate the navigation of rice transplanters. Generally, an independent NIR or RGB camera is used as a vision sensor for agricultural vehicles; however, strong reflections on the water surface make row detection more difficult in flooded paddy fields compared to dry fields. To solve this problem, we developed a dual-spectral camera system that consists of a pair of low-cost monochrome cameras with optical filters. Different wavelength images of the same location can be taken simultaneously in real-time. An experiment conducted under cloudy conditions showed that this system could reduce water surface noise and clearly detect seedling rows.  相似文献

Among many detrimental injuries, alcohol is implicated in hepatitis, fatty liver, hepatic fibrosis, and cirrhosis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective effect of bio-active ceramic water on alcohol-induced hepatic injury in pigs. Twelve male Landrace pigs were divided into 3 groups. Groups 1, 2, and 3 were fed with bio-active ceramic water + normal liquid diet, bio-active ceramic water + liquid diet containing 15% ethanol, and tap water + liquid diet containing 15% ethanol for 12 weeks, respectively. For serological, histopathological, and immunohistochemical analysis, all pigs were sacrificed at week 12. In group 3, serum ALT and AST levels increased, and mild fatty change and moderate necrosis were detected in the liver. Collagen fibers, myofibroblasts, and CYP2E1 were also increased or activated in group 3. In group 2, there were mild hepatic injuries compared to group 3. However, injuries and activations were not observed in the liver in group 1. We suggest that the bio-active ceramic water used in the present study had protective capability against ethanol-induced hepatic injury and that having no toxic effect on the pig liver. The bio-active ceramic water might be useful as a therapeutic drinking water in patients suffering from alcoholic liver diseases.  相似文献

Lipoxygenase-2 (Lx 2) in soybean seed is mainly responsible for generation of grassy-beany and bitter flavors. Genetic elimination of this flavor can be accelerated by the development of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers linked to Lx 2. A frame map based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers was constructed first using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population of Pureunkong × Jinpumkong 2. Sixty-five SSR markers were incorporated into 13 linkage groups (LGs) spanning a total of 737 cM. Among five primer pairs designed from the Lx 2 gene sequence, one produced an amplicon with sequence variations between Pureunkong and Jinpumkong 2. Three SNPs, T/C, G/A and C/A, were identified at 251,367 and 420 bp, respectively, in the intron region of the 804 bp amplified product. Using single base chain extension based on the capture probe sequence in the 5' region of the T/C SNP, the 90 RILs were genotyped for each allele of Lx 2. The allelic segregation for the SNP linked toLx 2 was in accordance with the expected ratio of 1:1 in the RIL population. Based on the results of linkage analysis between Lx 2 and the SSR markers, Lx 2 was found to be positioned on one end of LG F in the frame map, flanked by the SSR markers Satt522 and Sat074. This study demonstrates that SNP markers closely linked to Lx 2can be developed to facilitate marker-assisted selection and fine mapping of the region around this locus. Equine piroplasms include two tick-borne protozoan parasites, Babesia caballi and Theileria equi. Although no clinical equine piroplasmosis has been reported in the Republic of Korea, the possible existence of the disease has been proposed due to a nationwide distribution of the vector ticks. To determine if the antibodies against B. caballi and T. equi were present, 184 sera of horses (Equus caballus) raised in the Republic of Korea from 2007 to 2010 were assessed using cELISA kits. Two (1.1%) out of 184 sera were positive for T. equi, but none were seropositive for B. caballi. Both samples tested positive came from one region (Gyeonggi province). The accuracy of the cELISA was confirmed by PCR using primers specific to the 18S rRNA of T. equi. This study presents for the first time horses infected by T. equi in the Republic of Korea. Since the infection of T. equi occurred in horses raised in the Republic of Korea, further studies with continuous monitoring of the vector ticks for equine piroplasms and appropriate control programs need to be established.  相似文献

Mild hepatic fibrosis in cholesterol and sodium cholate diet-fed rats   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
To date, the majority of research on hypercholesterolemia has focused on the effects of a high cholesterol diet on atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. The toxic effects of cholesterol on the liver and the relationship between the intake of a high cholesterol diet and hepatic fibrosis, however, have not been investigated clearly or histopathologically. Male Wistar rats were fed a diet supplemented with 1.0% cholesterol and 0.3% sodium cholate for 12 weeks. Rats were sacrificed and analyzed via blood biochemistry, traditional microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Following the feeding of this diet, the rates of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, lactate dehydrogenase and total cholesterol in the rats were elevated consistently from week 3 and throughout the remainder of the experiment. From microscopic observation, hepatic necrosis, macrophage infiltration and steatosis increased markedly throughout the experiment. Hepatic fibrosis and myofibroblast proliferation were detected at weeks 9 and 12. Mast cell appearance was proportional to the degree of hepatic damage. These findings suggest that hepatic fibrosis is inducible by a high cholesterol diet and is likely the result of the interaction between several different cell types (i.e., macrophages, myofibroblasts, and mast cells) in an inflammatory milieu. Hypercholesterolemia should be considered as a risk factor for hepatic fibrosis as well as atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease.  相似文献

Association analysis studies can be used to test for associations between molecular markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL). In this study, a genome-wide scan was performed using 150 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers to identify QTL associated with seed protein content in soybean. The initial mapping population consisted of two subpopulations of 48 germplasm accessions each, with high or low protein levels based on data from the USDA’s Germplasm Resources Information Network website. Intrachromosomal LD extended up to 50 cM with r 2 > 0.1 and 10 cM with r 2 > 0.2 across the accessions. An association map consisting of 150 markers was constructed on the basis of differences in allele frequency distributions between the two subpopulations. Eleven putative QTL were identified on the basis of highly significant markers. Nine of these are in regions where protein QTL have been mapped, but the genomic regions containing Satt431 on LG J and Satt551 on LG M have not been reported in previous linkage mapping studies. Furthermore, these new putative protein QTL do not map near any QTL known to affect maturity. Since biased population structure was known to exist in the original association analysis population, association analyses were also conducted on two similar but independent confirmation populations. Satt431 and Satt551 were also significant in those analyses. These results suggest that our association analysis approach could be a useful alternative to linkage mapping for the identification of unreported regions of the soybean genome containing putative QTL.  相似文献
