This study aimed to design formulations of hydrophobic herbicides, alachlor and metolachlor, by adsorbing them on the clay mineral montmorillonite preadsorbed by the small organic cation phenyltrimethylammonium (PTMA). An adsorption model that considers electrostatics and specific binding and the possibility of cation adsorption above the cation exchange capacity (CEC) could explain and yield predictions for PTMA adsorption in the presence of NaCl concentrations from 0 to 500 mM. Adsorption of alachlor and metolachlor from aqueous solution on a clay mineral preadsorbed by PTMA was determined by GC and modeled by Langmuir equation. Herbicide interactions with the organoclay were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Leaching of herbicides was determined by a bioassay using a column technique and Setaria viridis as a test plant. The adsorbed amounts of alachlor and metolachlor on montmorillonite preadsorbed by PTMA at a loading of 0. 5 mol/kg (Mont-PTMA0.5) were higher than at a loading up to the CEC, that is, 0.8 mol/kg, and were higher than those obtained by using several other organic cations. Herbicide formulations based on Mont-PTMA0.5 yielded the largest shifts of the infrared peaks of the herbicides. These formulations based on Mont-PTMA0.5 gave slower release and showed improved weed control in comparison with formulations based on other organoclays. These formulations maintained herbicidal activity in the topsoil and yielded the most significant reduction in herbicide leaching.  相似文献

Silicon-based quantum dots were intraperitoneally injected in individuals of Carassius auratus gibelio. Their effects on white muscle were investigated by following their distribution and impact on the antioxidative system. The GSH level significantly increased after 1 and 3?days of exposure by, respectively, 85.3 and 25.4%. Seven days later, GSH levels were similar to control concentrations. MDA concentration rose after three days by 46.9% and remained at the same level after 7?days. Protein thiol levels significantly decreased by 6.7 and 8.1% after 3 and 7?days, whereas advanced oxidation protein products increased by 12.7, respectively, 28.1% in the same time intervals. The protein reactive carbonyl groups were raised only after the first day of exposure and returned to the control level later on. SOD specific activity increased up to 48% after 7?days, while CAT activity increased by 328, 176, and 26% after 1, 3, and 7?days of treatment. GST specific activity was up-regulated by 87, 18, and 9%, while GR activity increased by 68, 34, and 9%. G6PD activity was up-regulated by 12, 22, and 50%, whereas GPx activity raised by 75 and 109% compared to control after, respectively, 1, 3, and 7?days. Our results suggest that oxidative stress induced by silicon-based quantum dots was not strong enough to cause permanent damage in the white muscle of crucian carp.  相似文献

The effect of cultivar, season, shelf-life and origin on the accuracy of near infrared (NIR) calibration models for the soluble solids content (SSC) and firmness of apple was studied based on a large spectral data set based on approximately 6000 apple fruit from different cultivars, origins, shelf-life exposure time and seasons. To interpret the variance in the spectra with respect to biological variability, functional analysis of variance (FANOVA) was used. From the FANOVA analysis it was concluded that the effects of cultivar, origin and shelf-life exposure time on the NIR spectra were all significant. The largest differences in the spectra were found around the water absorption peaks (970, 1170 and 1450 nm). External validations using independent data sets showed that the accuracy of the models increased considerably when more variability was included in the calibration data set. In general the RMSEP for predictions of the SSC were in the range 0.6–0.8 °Brix, while for Magness Taylor firmness it was 5.9–8.8 N, depending on the cultivar. It was shown that atypical data can lead to large validation errors. It is, therefore, important to collect a calibration data set which is sufficiently representative for future samples to be analyzed with the developed calibration models and to develop simple procedures for model adaptation during practical use.  相似文献

Yield and Price Forecasting for Stochastic Crop Decision Planning   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The primary objective of this paper is to develop yield and price forecasting models employed in informed crop decision planning—a key aspect of effective farm management. For yearly yield prediction, we introduce a weather-based regression model with time-dependent varying coefficients. In order to allow for within-year climate variations, we predict yearly crop yield using weekly temperature and rainfall summaries resulting in a large number of correlated predictors. To overcome this difficulty, we reduce the space of predictors to a small number of uncorrelated predictors using Functional Principal Component Analysis (FPCA). For detailed price forecasting, we develop a futures-based model for long-range cash price prediction. In this model, the cash price is predicted as a sum of the nearby settlement futures price and the predicted commodity basis. We predict the one-year commodity basis as a mixture of historical basis data using a functional model-based approach. In both forecasting models, we estimate approximate prediction confidence intervals that are further integrated in a decision planning model. We applied our methods to corn yield and price forecasting for Hancock County in Illinois. Our forecasting results are more accurate in comparison to predictions based on existing methods. The methods introduced in this paper generally apply to other locations in the US and other crop types. The supplemental materials for this article are available online.  相似文献

A number of reference oils, two commercial oils, and several oil extracts from seeds of Nicotiana species were analyzed for the fatty acid content and also for triglyceride composition. The seed oils were obtained using an accelerated solvent extraction procedure, which was proven to be very efficient and reproducible. The fatty acids were analyzed after the hydrolysis of the oils, using trimethylsilylation and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis. The levels of sixteen molecular species of triglycerides in the oils were measured after GC separation using MS for identification and flame ionization detection (FID) for quantitation. The results for the fatty acids and those for triglycerides were combined to generate uniform information regarding the composition of the analyzed oils. For a number of oils, the individual triglyceride quantitation and mass spectra were reported for the first time. The study showed that in some cases, oils with similar fatty acid content do not have the same triglycerides profile. The fatty acids and triglycerides profile for selected Nicotiana species were described for the first time in the literature.  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive automated method for glucose monitoring that might be employed during wine fermentation and processing was developed. A flow injection (FI) system coupled with an automated dilutor and the "redox-versatile" modified electrode were used to directly measure glucose in wine. To avoid interferences during wine analysis, different formulations of enzymatically modified carbon paste electrodes (CPE) were used and evaluated in oxidation and reduction mode. The best selectivity and sensitivity for glucose monitoring in real samples was obtained in cathodic mode at a fixed potential of 0 V versus Ag/AgCl using a CPE modified with glucose oxidase, horseradish peroxidase, and ferrocene as redox mediator. A total linear range of 0.02-50 g/L glucose was covered using this automated system and allowed the measurement of glucose in dry, medium, and sweet white or red wines without any sample pretreatment. The results showed a good correlation with the standard method, and the proposed method is very rapid, simple, and reliable and does not need skilled operators.  相似文献

This study aimed to design ecologically acceptable formulations of acetochlor by adsorbing it on montmorillonite exchanged by a small organic cation, phenyltrimethylammonium (PTMA). Adsorption of acetochlor on the clay mineral exchanged with different organic cations and its release from these complexes were determined by GC and modeled by Langmuir equation. Interactions between acetochlor molecules and the exchanged organic cation on the clay surface were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Leaching of acetochlor in soil was determined by a bioassay using a column technique and Setaria viridis as a test plant. The adsorbed amounts of acetochlor on montmorillonite exchanged by PTMA at a loading of 0.5 mmol/g of clay were higher than at a loading up to the cation-exchange capacity, i.e., 0.8 mmol/g, and were higher than obtained by using a clay mineral exchanged by other organic cations. Preloading montmorillonite by PTMA at 0.5 mmol/g yielded maximal shifts of the infrared peaks of the herbicide. The above formulation of acetochlor yielded slow release in water and showed improved weed control in field and greenhouse experiments in comparison with the commercial formulation. The PTMA-clay formulation of acetochlor maintained herbicidal activity in the topsoil and yielded the most significant reduction in herbicide leaching and persistence under field conditions. The application of this formulation can minimize the risk to groundwater and can reduce the applied rates.  相似文献
