The biotopes occupied by pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.)and rebollo oak (Quercus pyrenaica Willd.) in Galicia were characterizedusing different parameters, enabling a comparative analysisof its habitats. Thirty-nine plots of pedunculate oak and 40of rebollo oak were inventoried and 25 ecological parameters(physiographic, climatic and edaphic) were measured to describethe biotopes, along with 14 stand parameters to characterizethe structure and the silviculture of these forests; some ofthem were used in previous works about the autecology of bothspecies. Quercus robur was found to occupy a wider range ofecological habitats and their distribution is oceanic; Q. pyrenaicapresents a more Mediterranean phytoclimatic position. The resultsindicated that the distribution of oak forests in Galicia ismore closely related to physiographic and climatic featuresthan to edaphic, because the nature of the substrates that theyoccupy is similar. Analysis of fragility/aggressiveness betweenboth species and chestnut shows that the aggressiveness of bothoaks, mainly pedunculate, was much higher, except at high altitudes, and in areas with a high mean temperature, where rebollo ismore aggressiveness. Comparison of the two Quercus shows formost of the parameters that Q. robur is the more aggressivespecies.  相似文献

Morphological variation based on eight measured and four derived traits was studied to establish whether there was significant variation between populations and to identify the influence of the altitude on morphological differentiation among 44 natural stands of common oak (Quercus robur L.) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ranging from 82 to 860 m. The results point to significant intra- and inter-population differences. Elevation-related variation is less pronounced and determined largely by microclimatic factors. The results could provide management strategies for species reintroduction in the study area. There are no differences in leaf morphology between the different branches of individual trees. However, there are important variations between the altitudinal groups and closely linked to environmental factors in all traits. An important recommendation is to use seeds from oak with attention to their altitudinal origin.  相似文献

The soils where natural stands of “rebollo” oak (Quercus pyrenaica Willd.) occur in Galicia (NW Spain) were characterized in an inventory of 40 stands; the main properties of the soils were also determined by analyzing a total of 30 edaphic parameters. The substrates are principally siliceous, with schists and quartzites predominating; the dominant textural composition is sandy-loam with a scarce presence of clayey-loam and sandy textures, and the soils are basically Umbric Regosol-type. The values of the parameters that reflect the chemical properties of the soil, i.e., the pH, organic matter, nitrogen, and C/N ratio, are similar to those reported as optimal for Quercus spp. forests in the study area. However, the concentrations of macronutrients, except for phosphorous, were higher than in soils under Quercus robur L. with notably high concentrations of the micronutrient iron.  相似文献
