Mangroves as indicators of coastal change   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In view of the unique biological characteristics of mangroves, it is interesting to assess the extent to which these ecosystems can be used as indicators of coastal change or sea-level rise. From recent studies of mangrove mortality at several locations (including Guiana, Gambia, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, India and Bangladesh), it appears that these coastal ecosystems are so specialized that any minor variation in their hydrological or tidal regimes causes noticeable mortality. Each species of mangrove (but particularly those belonging to the genera Rhizophora, Bruguiera, Sonneratia, Heritiera and Nypa) occurs in ecological conditions that approach its limit of tolerance with regard to salinity of the water and soil, as well as the inundation regime. If the duration of daily immersion were to be modified by tectonic, sedimentological or hydrological events, the species either readjusts to the new conditions or succumbs to unsuitable conditions. Consequently, the use of remote sensing data for mangrove ecosystems offers excellent potential as a tool for monitoring coastal change.  相似文献

基于非结构有限体积法海洋模型FVCOM,对渤海潮波系统进行数值模拟。利用渤海沿岸共19个潮位站的资料对模拟结果进行验证,计算结果均与实测结果吻合良好。基于此进一步研究渤海3个主要浅水分潮M4、MS4和M6的主要特征,并与前人的研究成果进行对比。结果表明M4和MS4分潮传播特征相似,都存在5个无潮点,其中1个为顺时针旋转,而其余四个为逆时针旋转。对于M6分潮,结果显示存在9个无潮点,两个为顺时针,其余七个为逆时针。M4分潮振幅在近岸处可达25cm,约为M2分潮振幅的10%,MS4振幅次之,M6振幅最小,仅为M4分潮振幅的18%左右。三者振幅均为从外海向近岸迅速增大,表明浅水分潮振幅分布特征与海底地形关系密切。  相似文献

滩涂所有权客体的边界不清晰;可设立滩涂用益物权的范围也不明晰;设立滩涂用益物权时存在与水资源、水生野生动植物利用关系如何理顺的问题。湿地不仅是环境与资源法上的概念,也应进入民法领域。将滩涂作为湿地,能划清滩涂所有权客体的边界,解决滩涂用益物权设立时的困境。生态系统角度下的湿地概念,包含一定的水资源,对水体深度有明确要求,水生野生动植物是其内在的组成部分。将湿地概念纳入民法,能解决这些困境。对湿地奉行保护优先的原则,使得只有在未纳入保护地的滩涂上才能设立用益物权,划清了可设立滩涂用益物权的边界。  相似文献

海湾及潮汐河口的冷却水工程研究近年来受到人们的重视,由于受到潮汐的影响,其冷却水布置及热污染特性比河道及水库型更为复杂。采用数值模拟的方法,首先对电厂附近的潮流特性及冷却水输移扩散进行模拟计算,研究了电厂近海水域的水动力结构及其对冷却水排放的影响,给出电厂取水温升及热污染范围,为电厂取水设计工作提供依据。  相似文献

为探究人工鱼礁建设对周边海域潮流场和水交换产生的影响,基于Mike21HD潮流模型,对莱州湾芙蓉岛西侧人工鱼礁建设前后周边海域潮流场和水交换变化情况进行了数值模拟研究。结果表明,相较于鱼礁建设前,涨急时,从平面分布上,鱼礁区东西向流速呈增加趋势,南北向流速呈递减趋势;从垂向分布上,流速变化:底层>中层>表层,底层流速最大增加量8.6cm·s-1、最大减小量4.3cm·s-1,增加量大于1cm·s-1的区域与鱼礁区最远距离为303m,减小量大于1cm·s-1的区域距鱼礁区最远距离为574m。落急时,平面流速变化趋势与涨急时基本一致;垂向分布上,底层流速最大增加量7.9cm·s-1,最大减小量3.6cm·s-1,增加量大于1cm·s-1的区域与鱼礁区最远距离为271m,减小量大于1cm·s-1的区域与鱼礁区最远距离为333m。鱼礁建设后周边海域水交换率增加约0.1%。人工鱼礁投放后,只改变了礁区局部海域的水动力环境,对湾内其他海域没有影响。  相似文献

Currents that effect the shoreward transport of the larvae of estuarine-dependent fishes spawned in winter in Onslow Bay, North Carolina, USA, were driven by winds and pressure gradients, and influenced by the Gulf Stream. Aside from storms, winds over the continental shelf in Onslow Bay blew predominantly alongshore with velocities approaching 14 m s-1 during February and March 1986, and January and February 1989. Water masses and currents observed at two current-meter moorings, one at mid-shelf and the other on the outer shelf, reflected the onshore (or offshore) advection of interior water in compensation for the offshore (or onshore) advection of wind-driven surface water. Winds and currents reversed direction approximately every 4 to 6 days. The larvae of Atlantic menhaden, Brevoortia tyrannus , spot, Leiostomus xan- thurus, and Atlantic croaker, Micropogonias undulatus , were most abundant in 17–19oC and 20–21oC water of the outer shelf and Gulf Stream fronts. There was little indication of diel vertical migration; larval Atlantic menhaden were most abundant in mid- and surface water, while spot and Atlantic croaker were most abundant in mid- and deep water. Given this distribution, the inferred advective transport of larvae was at times onshore, but at other times it was offshore. Within a spawning season, the prevalence of either reciprocation could determine the number of larvae that reach coastal inlets.  相似文献

The role of calcium influx through voltage-dependent calcium ion channels in the exocytotic response of single isolated pars intermedia cells from the teleost tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) was investigated by means of the whole-cell patch-clamp technique and high resolution electrical measurements. Calcium currents differed from barium currents in several ways: the peak ICa was smaller, the current-voltage relationship for calcium attained its maximum at +10 mV instead of 0 mV, and the inward calcium current inactivated more rapidly. Electron micrographs showed that pars intermedia cells possess dense, encored vesicles with an average diameter of 140 nm. Influx of calcium resulted in an increased cell membrane capacitance (Cm) after the depolarizing period, indicating a fast exocytotic response. Comparison with late recordings revealed the presence of a transient in Cm, presumably attributable to movement of ion channel gates. The average increase in Cm was 13.4 fF, suggesting the fusion of at least 23 vesicles with the plasma membrane during the depolarizing pulse. In contrast to calcium, barium did not support significant exocytosis. We conclude that calcium entry through voltage-dependent calcium channels rapidly leads to the exocytosis of secretory vesicles from tilapia pars intermedia cells.  相似文献

Growth and mortality of sibling triploid and diploid Sydney rock oysters, grown at two tidal heights, three stocking densities and three different sites on the Camden Haven River estuary, were compared. Triploids grew faster than diploids. The majority of the growth rate difference occurred after the oysters reached 2 years of age. By 3.2 years, triploids were 49% heavier than diploids. Oysters grown intertidally were larger than those grown subtidally. Oysters stocked at the lightest density of 2 L per basket grew to a significantly larger size than baskets stocked at 3 or 4 L. Growth rates were significantly different at the three sites. Growth was reduced the further the oysters were from the mouth of the estuary. There was no significant difference in mortality between ploidy level, but there were differences between tidal heights, stocking densities and sites. Intertidal oysters suffered higher mortality than subtidal. Oysters stocked at the highest density had a significantly higher mortality than the lowest density; neither of these was significantly different from the medium density. The site closest to the mouth of the estuary had significantly lower mortality than the middle and upper estuary sites.  相似文献
