Many factors related with drug and animals affect the plasma disposition of endectocides including ivermectin (IVM). The aim of the present study was to investigate the breed differences in pharmacokinetics of IVM in goats following subcutaneous administration. Two different goat breeds (Kilis and Damascus goats) were allocated into two treatment groups with respect to breed. The injectable formulation of IVM was administered subcutaneously at a dose rate of 0.2 mg/kg bodyweight. Blood samples were collected before treatment and at various times between 1 h and 40 days after treatment and the plasma samples were analysed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) using fluorescence detection. The results indicated that the plasma disposition of IVM was substantially affected by breed differences following subcutaneous administration in goats. The last detectable plasma concentration (tlast) of IVM was significantly later in Kilis goats (38.33 days) compared with Damascus goats (22.50 days). Although, there were no significant differences on Cmax (10.83 ng/ml vs. 10.15 ng/ml) and tmax (2.75 days vs. 2.33 days) values; the area under the concentration–time curve-AUC (110.26 ng.d/ml vs. 73.38 ng.d/ml) the terminal half-life-t1/2λz (5.65 days vs. 3.81 days) and the mean plasma residence time-MRT (9.31 days vs. 6.35 days) were significantly different in Kilis goats compared with Damascus goats, respectively. The breed-related difference observed on the plasma disposition of IVM between Kilis and Damascus goats could be attributable to different excretion pattern or specific anatomical and/or physiological characteristics such as body fat composition of each breed.  相似文献

Waste mica, a potassium-bearing mineral, is a by-product of mica industry; however, its potassium (K)-supplying capacity for crop production is not well understood. A greenhouse trial was made to study the effect of co-inoculation of potassium solubilizing (Bacillus mucilaginosus) and nitrogen (N) fixing (Azotobacter chroococcum A-41) bacteria on solubilization of waste mica (a potassium-bearing mineral) and their effects on growth promotion and nutrient uptake by a forage crop of sudan grass (Sorghum vulgare Pers.) in a Typic Haplustalf. Results revealed that significantly higher biomass accumulation and nutrient acquisition were obtained in all the pots treated with mica and/or bacterial strain as compared to control. Data indicated that co-inoculation of waste mica with B. mucilaginosus and A. chroococcum A-41 resulted in highest biomass production and nutrient acquisition. Co-inoculation of bacterial strains maintained consistently highest amounts of available K and N in soils even at 150 days of crop growth than other treatments. B. mucilaginosus strain was more effective and potent K solubilizer than A. chroococcum A-41. Thus, co-inoculation of potassium solubilizing and nitrogen fixing bacteria to waste mica could be a promising and alternative option for utilizing this potent source as K fertilizer to crops and maintaining greater nutrients availability in soil. Further studies are necessary to see the effects of these bacterial strains on mobilization of potassium-bearing minerals under field conditions.  相似文献

A natural long staple ligno-cellulosic fibers have been extracted from the cornhusks using an alkali treatment. Physico-chemical properties such as chemical composition, length, fineness, crystallinity, surface properties, etc. measured by standard methods are reported in this paper. The physico-chemical and morphological properties of the extracted cornhusk fibers are discussed in detail and compared with other cellulosic like cotton and ligno-cellulosic fibers such as jute. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study the morphological and cross-sectional view and energy dispersive X-ray and FTIR were used for the identification and quantification of elements, groups present in the cornhusk and other cellulosic and lignocellulosic fibers. In addition, fibers are characterized by thermo-gravimetric analysis. Results showed that morphological and physico-chemical behavior is more or less similar to other multicellular ligno-cellulosic fibers like jute.  相似文献

Disposition kinetics in goats of fenvalerate [(RS)-α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (RS)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methylbutyrate] were studied after oral administration at 5 mg kg?1. The insecticide persisted in blood for up to 48 h. The Vd(area), t1/2(β), and t1/2(Ka), of fenvalerate were 12.14 (±0.39) litre kg?1, 12.25 (±0.25) h and 0.63 (±0.11)h, while the AUC and ClB values were respectively 7.35 (±0.39) μg h ml?1 and 0.68 (±0.04) litre kg?1 h?1. The residues in tissues reached a peak four days after insecticide administration and then started to decline. Maximum residue was found in the adrenal gland, followed by liver, kidney and intestine. Both GOT and GPT activities in kidney tissue, but only GPT activities in liver tissue had decreased significantly 4, 8 and 22 days post-administration. The fenvalerate did not produce any significant effects on serum acetylcholinesterase, cholesterol or protein levels in goats. Histopathological examination showed fatty changes in the periphery of lobule, congestion in sinusoid, haemolysis in central vein, necrosis and periportal fibrosis around the central vein of liver, and necrosis in kidney of fenvalerate-treated goats.  相似文献

Knowledge about soil organic carbon (SOC) stock and its allocation into different pools is important for global food and environmental security. Accordingly, an attempt is made in the present study to investigate into the dynamics of SOC pools i.e. total soil organic carbon (TOC), oxidisable organic carbon (OC) and its different fractions viz. very labile (CVL), labile (CL), less labile (CLL) and non-labile (CNL) in soils under a 26 years old long-term experiment with rice (Oryza sativa L) – wheat (Triticum aestivum L) cropping system on Inceptisols under humid agro-climatic region of India with different soil management practices (control, 100% recommended dose of NPK, and 50% recommended dose of NPK + 50% N through farmyard manure (FYM). Of the several pools analyzed, a higher proportion of C was found in labile pool followed by very labile, non-labile, and less labile ones constituting about 46, 26.5, 20 and 7.3% of the total organic C at surface soil. The NPK+FYM treatment was found to have higher SOC pools, lability index (LI), recalcitrance indices and stratification ratio as compared to others. Results indicated that balanced fertilization with inorganic and organics is important for maintaining overall sustainability of the rice-wheat system.  相似文献

The present investigation was carried out in coastal Sundarbans of India to study the effects of farm yard manure, green leaf manure, and vermicompost on biological attributes of soils and yield in rice–tomato, rice–sunflower, and rice–chili cropping system over conventional farmer’s practices (control) by a strip-plot technique for the two consecutive years. The partial substitution of inorganic fertilizers through organics significantly increased the yield of various cropping systems. The use of organic materials significantly improved microbial biomass carbon, fluorescein diacetate hydrolyzing activities, dehydrogenase, and β-glucosidase activity over control, which varied in the tune of 51.6%, 67.4%, 50%, and 62.7%, respectively, due to variation in electrical conductivity (EC) of these soils. The improved soil microbial biomass and enzyme activities act as key driving factor for organic matter decomposition and nutrient transformation in organically amended soils which lead to better yield under such cropping sequences.  相似文献

Both 1-methylisopropyl 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate, (Picaridin((R))) and cyclohex-3-enyl 2-methylpiperidin-1-yl ketone (AI3-37220; 220) have two asymmetric centers, and the four diastereoisomers of each compound are known to have differing degrees of mosquito-repellent activity according to quantitative behavioral assays conducted at the United States Department of Agriculture. Computational chemistry was used to identify the structural and configurational basis for repellent activity. Molecular overlay of the optimized geometries of the lowest energy conformers of the diastereoisomers was investigated to elucidate the role of chiral centers in 220 and Picaridin. It was found that the presence of a chiral carbon alpha to the nitrogen with the S configuration in the piperidine ring is essential to the three-dimensional arrangement of the atoms of the pharmacophore for effective repellent activity.  相似文献

Acute exposure to Sumithion (65.0 μg/g dose) causes significant inhibition of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in the digestive tissue of adult P. americana. At this dose there is practically no effect on the activities of either acid or alkaline phosphatases or non-specific esterases. Exposures to multiple doses of 1.3 μg/g at intervals of 24 and 48 hr, respectively, lower AChE activity by approximately 40%. On the other hand multiple doses cause an initial rise in the activities of phosphatases, indicating their possible involvement in the metabolism of the pesticide. However, later on, there is a decrease in levels of acid and alkaline phosphatase activities. This is coupled with a steady rise in nonspecific esterase activity indicating a possible take over of metabolizing role by these enzymes.  相似文献

The present study was undertaken to develop a comprehensive understanding of how environmental cues and sex steroids relate with cyclic changes in spermatogenesis in freshwater spotted snakehead Channa punctatus that is nutritious and economically important. The seasonal histological changes in testis and annual profile of gonadosomatic index (GSI) of C. punctatus delineated the testicular cycle into four phases: regressed (December–March), preparatory (April–June), spawning (July and August) and postspawning (September–November). Among environmental variables, correlation and regression analyses exhibited an important relationship between photoperiod and testicular weight while role of rainfall was seen confined to spawning. The seasonal profile of plasma sex steroids when correlated with cyclic changes in spermatogenesis in spotted snakehead, testosterone (T) seems to be involved in controlling the major events of spermatogenesis from renewal of stem cells to spawning of spermatozoa. Another important androgen prevalent in teleosts, 11-ketotestosterone (11-KT), was high during preparatory phase, suggesting that 11-KT in addition to T plays an important role in progression of spermatogenesis and spermiation in C. punctatus. However, 11-KT was not seen to be associated with milt production and release of spermatozoa during spawning. Plasma profile of estradiol-17β (E2) during different reproductive phases revealed the involvement of E2 in repopulation of stem cells during postspawning phase and in maintaining quiescence of testis during regressed phase.  相似文献

Summary To find the isolation distance in Hibiscus cannabinus L. (kenaf), experiments were conducted for three years with two planting designs. The extent of cross pollination irrespective of the planting designs was inversely related with the distance. At a distance beyond 10.0 m, the contamination was found to be absent. Directions had no influence on the contamination. The amount of contamination varied considerably between the years.  相似文献
