A definition of the optimal allocation of effort in conservation of plant genetic resources-with application to sample size determination for field collection

Summary A criterion was presented to define the most efficient strategy for the exploration and maintenance of plant genetic resources. All of the three factors composing the efficiency. i.e., multiplicity of target populations. the amount of expenses, and goodness for individual populations of the conservation manipulation adopted, were incorporated in the present criterion. Sample size per target population for field collection was investigated on the basis of this criterion, leading to the conclusion that the number of visited populations rather than sample size per population determines the overall efficiency of a collection project as a whole. Without any particular reason, intensive sampling for a limited number of populations is not logical. A sample size as small as ten plants per site or population was estimated reasonable to cover a large target area.     

粮仓温度场数学模型研究

粮仓温度的传统测试方法存在硬件结构复杂、电气元件过多,可靠性低等缺点。本文根据测量得到的有限个典型的离散温度数据,利用最小二乘法拟合出粮仓温度在其空间坐标上的分布函数,从而可以较精确地估计粮仓内任一点的温度值,大大节约了硬件资源,方便了测量工作。     

Effects of the Adaptable Distribution for Lateral Forces Considering modes Coupling on Structural Pushover Analysis

Two high and flexible RC frame structures are analyzed;the paper explains the rise in the structural damping ratio and the base mode's drifting,and the modes coupling is caused by the greatly rising damping ratio.The paper also proposes that the modes coupling need be considered in the pushover analysis of the high and flexible RC frame structures.A CQC adaptive distribution for lateral forces in considering the modes coupling at every load step is given,and is compared with the traditional SRSS one.Meanwhile,some practical engineering suggestions are given.     

A Class of Planar 5 - Body Central Configurations

Newtonian n-body problem is an old, complicated problem. It is very significant to study it. Even about three problem, the completed solutions have not obtained so far. It is one hottest point studied in n-body problem. Based on some hypothesis of symmetric conditions, some necessary and sufficient conditions have been obtained with the purely algebra method. The classification of planar 5 - body central configurations is discussed , in which three class planar 5 -body central configurations are obtained.

Critical Phase Transition of the Two-dimensional Microcanonical Ising Model by Cellular Automata Q2R Method

The authors construct a microcanonical ensemble system and analyzes the phase change of the two-dimensional Ising model Cellular Automata Q2R/WQ2R method. The result indicates that the numerical value simulation can show the spontaneous magnetization of two-dimensional crystal lattice in isolated system. The authors have observed the critical phase transition phenomenon and gotten the critical energy. The simulation of three-dimensional Ising model can be grounded on the method that this article establishes.     

Mix Domain Decomposition Method with Boundary Element Method For Stokes Equations and Application

As the BEM was used in the knaggy domain,its approach error was big.Domain Decomposition Method change the problem in the knaggy domain to the problem in several convex domains which do not wrap.The whole solution is gained by alternating boundary conditions between Dirichlet condition and Neumann condition on the common boundary.Domain Decomposition Method for Stokes equations in the anomalistic knaggy domain is presented,the example of Domain Decomposition Method in the flow of the lake in GuiYang City is given.     

Screening for resistance to Nectria galligena Bres. in cut shoots of apple

Summary To find a fast and reliable test to assess resistance to Nectria galligena in apple, different methods of inoculation were compared using macroconidia of N. galligena and one-year-old cut shoots from mature trees of Cox's Orange Pippin, IVT 69078-19, James Grieve and Jonathan.With the best inoculation method 11 genotypes were screened for resistance. Elstar, Golden Delicious, Jonathan and Lombart's Calville were highly resistant and the level of resistance of Ingrid marie, Gloster, Melrose, IVT 69078-19, Cox's Orange Pippin, James Grieve and Idared decreased in this order.The best inoculation method proved to be simple, giving results within four to nine weeks after inoculation.     

ORTHOGONAL COLLOCATION METHOD AND IT APPLICAIONS IN THE CALCULATION OF DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAT EXCHANGER

Being a kind of MWR, the orthogonal colloacation method can be conveniently used to reduce the initial-boundary value problems of the partial differential equations to initial value problems of ordinary differential equations. In this paper, the orthogonal collocation method is introduced in detail and by using it the dynamic characteristics of a steam-water heater are investigated.     

Use of the Single Seed Descent Method in Breeding Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.)

The single seed descent (SSD) method of selection has been evaluated in safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.). The initial population of this study was a BC₂F₁ from a cross between a well adapted and a high oil cultivar. Transgressive segregation for yield and oil content producing lines with considerably higher values than the better parent was observed in BC₂F₄ and BC₂F₅ generations. These results and the great saving of time and effort makes the SSD method a very desirable tool for safflower breeders.
