A total of 142 samples of plants showing symptoms of Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) were collected from fields planted to Brassicaceae and non‐Brassicaceae crops in the southwest Marmora region of Turkey, during the 2004?06 growing seasons. Using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) TuMV was detected in the main brassica‐crop fields of Turkey, with an overall incidence of 13·4%. TuMV was detected in samples from Brussels sprouts, cabbage, wild mustard, radish and wild radish, but not cauliflower or broccoli. The full‐length sequences of the genomic RNAs of two biologically distinct isolates, TUR1 and TUR9, were determined. Recombination analyses showed that TUR1 was an intralineage recombinant, whereas TUR9 was a non‐recombinant. Phylogenetic analyses of the Turkish isolates with those from the rest of the world showed that the TUR1 and TUR9 isolates belonged to world‐Brassica and Asian‐Brassica/Raphanus groups, respectively. This study showed that TuMV is widely distributed in the Asia Minor region of Turkey.  相似文献

Cyazofamid (4-chloro-2-cyano-N,N-dimethyl-5-p-tolylimidazole-1-sulfonamide) is a novel fungicide with high levels of activity against Oomycetes fungi and Plasmodiophora brassicae Woronin. The effects of cyazofamid were investigated against P. brassicae, the causal agent of clubroot disease in Chinese cabbage. Cyazofamid at 0.3 mg litre(-1) inhibited resting spore germination of this pathogen by about 80%. Cyazofamid at 3-10 mg litre(-1) exhibited fungicidal activity to resting spores of P. brassicae 1-10 days after treatment. When cyazofamid was applied to infested soil, both root-hair infections and club formation caused by P. brassicae were strongly inhibited at 1-3 mg kg(-1) dry soil. These results suggest that cyazofamid directly inhibits resting spore germination, thereby leading to the inhibition of root-hair infection and club formation. Cyazofamid at 3 mg kg(-1) dry soil also exhibited complete control of clubroot disease. The effect of broadcast soil application using a dust formulation at 2 kg AI ha(-1) (equivalent to 1.3 mg AI kg(-1) dry soil), and plug seedling tray application by a suspension concentrate formulation at 200 and 400 mg AI tray(-1) (30 x 60 x 4 cm3) against P. brassicae was also evaluated. Cyazofamid exhibited good efficacy against the pathogen. The sequential treatment including plug seedling tray application with cyazofamid and pre-plant broadcast soil application with the fungicide fluazinam also exhibited excellent levels of control. These results indicate that cyazofamid has a high potential to be an effective fungicide for the control of clubroot disease.  相似文献

The distribution of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate diaphorase (NADPHd)-positive neurones was investigated in the chicken caecum. Double staining combined NADPHd histochemistry with immunohistochemistry for neural nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) indicated that NADPHd-positive neurones also showed immunoreactivity for nNOS. NADPHd-positive nerve cell bodies were observed in both the myenteric and the submucous plexuses. Nerve fibres showing enzyme activity were mainly distributed in the circular muscle layer, but only a few fibres in the mucosal layer. Fine nerve fibres showing NADPHd activity were found running between germinal centres in the caecal tonsil. Quantitative analysis showed no significant differences in the number of enzyme-positive nerve cell bodies per ganglion of the myenteric and the submucous plexuses among three different caecal regions; proximal, middle and distal regions. Larger numbers of ganglia were detected in the submucous plexus than the myenteric plexus at all three regions. These data indicate that nitrergic neurones in the submucous plexus mainly project to the circular muscle layer in the chicken caecum. It is possible that nitrergic nerves regulate the motility of the chicken caecum.  相似文献

2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) is the most toxic of the halogenated dioxins and one of the most poisonous substances known to man. The major toxic effects of TCDD on reproduction are decreased fertility and diminished ability to maintain a pregnancy. Granulosa cells obtained from hormonally stimulated women participating in an in-vitro fertilization program were cultured with 3.1 femtomolar, 3.1 picomolar and 3.1 nanomolar TCDD. While inhibin B production was not altered, inhibin A production increased significantly after 4 hours of exposure to both nanomolar and micromolar TCDD concentrations. By 8 hours of exposure to these concentrations of dioxin, human luteinizing granulosa cells exhibited a pronounced increase in inhibin A, nearly quadrupling secretion from unexposed control cells. TCDD continued to increase inhibin A secretion at the picomolar concentration at 24 and 36 hours. It is conceivable that TCDD may act at the ovary to augment inhibin A secretion, thereby reducing FSH-stimulable estrogen secretion by granulosa cells.  相似文献

On-farm vaccination of chickens against Campylobacter jejuni is considered a potentially effective countermeasure to decrease campylobacteriosis via consumption of contaminated chicken meat, but is not yet available. In this study, 2 groups of Jidori chicks were immunized subcutaneously with a formalin-killed C. jejuni with 2 different adjuvants. Other chicks served as the unvaccinated control group. Both vaccines induced high levels of anti-Campylobacter IgG but did not decrease bacterial excretion in cecal droppings and bacterial load in the liver and spleen after oral challenge with 10(5) CFU of the homologous strain. Further study is needed to address the observed irrelevance and to develop a novel effective vaccine against C. jejuni.  相似文献
