The simultaneous HPLC determination of clofentezine, fenoxycarb and hexythiazox in apples, pears and their pulps is described. The method is based on a clean-up procedure carried out on a Seppak C18 cartridge followed by HPLC analysis on an RP-18 column using acetonitrile + water as mobile phase. Average recoveries were 85.0% for clofentezine, 84.8% for fenoxycarb and 75.6% for hexythiazox on apple matrix; recoveries from pear matrix were in the same range. UV detection limits at 240 nm were 0.07 mg kg?1 for clofentezine, 0.064 mg kg?1 for fenoxycarb and 0.08 mg kg?1 for hexythiazox.  相似文献

A Combination Chemotherapy Protocol (VELCAP-L) for Dogs with Lymphoma   总被引:3,自引:1,他引:2  
Ninety-eight dogs with lymphoma treated with a 5-drug combination chemotherapy regimen (vincristine, L-asparaginase. cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, prednisone [VELCAP-L]) were evaluated for pretreatment characteristics predictive for response and remission duration. The complete remission rate was 69%, with a median remission duration of 55 weeks. Dogs with advanced stage of disease, constitutional signs, dogs that were older, and dogs that were dyspneic were less likely to achieve remission. Once in remission, small dogs and dogs without pretreatment thrombocytopenia were likely to have longer remission duration. Toxicoses were frequent, but rarely fatal, and no predictitive factors were found for a dog developing toxicoses. VELCAP-L is an effective treatment for dogs in stage I-III lymphoma, particularly in young, small animals.  相似文献

Soybean nodules subjected to water stress showed lowered C2H2 reducing activity and O2 uptake, but enhanced CO2 and ethanol evolution. Similar results were obtained with waterlogged nodules. The effects of stress could be partially or completely overcome by increaseing the O2 supply. It is concluded that both water deficiency and excess may depress nitrogenase activity (C2H2 reduction) by restricting supplies of intermediates from aerobic pathways. At the same time fermentative pathways are stimulated and could lead to inhibitory concentrations of ethanol being produced. Both symbionts possess systems for ethanol production.  相似文献

A short report is given on the international effort for reestablishing the brown bear in the Alps. Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr.W. Schröder (German Soc. of Wild Biol.) first it is planned to increase the rest population of the bear living in the Brenta-Mountains (Italian Alps). After that new settlements will be made in other parts of the Alps.

Primary pulmonary neoplasia is relatively uncommon in cats and generally has a poor prognosis. In this multicenter, retrospective study of 57 cats with pulmonary neoplasia, the most frequent presenting signs were anorexia/inappetence (39%) and cough (37%). The pulmonary tumors were considered to be incidental findings in 9% cats. In computed tomographic (CT) images, primary pulmonary tumors appeared as a pulmonary mass in 55 (96%) cats and as a disseminated pulmonary lesion without a defined mass in two (4%) cats. Most pulmonary tumors were in the caudal lobes, with 28 (49%) in the right caudal lobe and 17 (30%) in the left caudal lobe. CT features associated with pulmonary tumors included mass in contact with visceral pleura (96%), irregular margins (83%), well‐defined borders (79%), bronchial compression (74%), gas‐containing cavities (63%), foci of mineral attenuation (56%), and bronchial invasion (19%). The mean (range) maximal dimension of the pulmonary masses was 3.5 cm (1.1–11.5 cm). Additional foci of pulmonary disease compatible with metastasis were observed in 53% cats. Pleural fluid was evident in 30% cats and pulmonary thrombosis in 12% cats. The histologic diagnoses were 47 (82%) adenocarcinomas, six (11%) tumors of bronchial origin, three (5%) adenosquamous cell carcinomas, and one (2%) squamous cell carcinoma. In this series, adenocarcinoma was the predominant tumor type, but shared many features with less common tumor types. No associations were identified between tumor type and CT features. Prevalence of suspected intrapulmonary metastasis was higher than in previous radiographic studies of cats with lung tumors.  相似文献

The study of influenza type A (IA) infections in wild mammals populations is a critical gap in our knowledge of how IA viruses evolve in novel hosts that could be in close contact with avian reservoir species and other wild animals. The aim of this study was to evaluate the susceptibility to infection, the nasal shedding and the transmissibility of the H7N1 and H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses in the bank vole (Myodes glareolus), a wild rodent common throughout Europe and Asia. Two out of 24 H5N1-infected voles displayed evident respiratory distress, while H7N1-infected voles remained asymptomatic. Viable virus was isolated from nasal washes collected from animals infected with both HPAI viruses, and extra-pulmonary infection was confirmed in both experimental groups. Histopathological lesions were evident in the respiratory tract of infected animals, although immunohistochemistry positivity was only detected in lungs and trachea of two H7N1-infected voles. Both HPAI viruses were transmitted by direct contact, and seroconversion was confirmed in 50% and 12.5% of the asymptomatic sentinels in the H7N1 and H5N1 groups, respectively. Interestingly, viable virus was isolated from lungs and nasal washes collected from contact sentinels of both groups. The present study demonstrated that two non-rodent adapted HPAI viruses caused asymptomatic infection in bank voles, which shed high amounts of the viruses and were able to infect contact voles. Further investigations are needed to determine whether bank voles could be involved as silent hosts in the transmission of HPAI viruses to other mammals and domestic poultry.  相似文献

Optimization of protein extraction and a capillary zone electrophoresis method for water-soluble protein analysis in wheat is described. The optimal separation was obtained with a 50 microm i.d. x 27 cm (20 cm to detector) uncoated capillary filled with 0.1 M phosphoric acid/beta-alanine, pH 2.5, buffer containing urea (1 M), 0.05% (w/v) hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, and 20% (v/v) acetonitrile. Separation was carried out at 15 kV and 35 degrees C for 9 min. Extract stability was also investigated within 2 h from the extraction. Good visual peak parameters and a higher sensitivity can be obtained when 30% ethanol is used as an extraction medium. The method was successfully used to analyze extracts obtained from whole and refined meals of six Triticum spp. Moreover, the described methodology could be applied to the discrimination of species with different ploidy levels and to the detection of durum wheat adulteration, as well as to screen wheat collections for enzymes involved with the quality of wheat derivatives.  相似文献

The ability of phaseolin to act as an acyl donor and acceptor substrate of transglutaminase was studied by using an enzyme isolated from Streptoverticillium mobarense. Phaseolin, a trimeric storage protein from Phaseolus vulgaris L., was shown to possess both glutamine and lysine residues reactive for the enzyme. The extent of transglutaminase-catalyzed cross-linking has been studied in function of both incubation time and enzyme concentration. Native- and SDS-PAGE demonstrated that phaseolin is intra- and intermolecularly cross-linked by transglutaminase and gives rise to different polymers as well as to modified forms of the protein having a similar molecular weight but lower Stokes radius if compared to unmodified phaseolin. Cross-linked phaseolin was found to be more resistant to proteolytic cleavage than the unmodified counterpart, as demonstrated by in vitro trypsin and pepsin digestion experiments. This behavior could suggest novel possible uses of the transglutaminase-modified phaseolin.  相似文献
