The small-scale distribution of activities of extracellular laccase, Mn-peroxidase, endoglucanase, cellobiohydrolase, β-glucosidase,
endoxylanase, β-xylosidase, chitinase, and acid phosphatase were studied in the litter (L) and organic (H) horizons of Quercus petraea forest soil and related to the distribution of microbial biomass. Geostatistical analysis showed that the spatial autocorrelation
of the enzyme activities and soil microbial biomass measured as phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA) and ergosterol content occurred
at similar scales, typically in the range of tens of centimeters. The size of the spatial structures differed between the
L and H horizons; for most of the studied enzymatic processes, litter exhibited a higher spatial variability (smaller autocorrelation
distances). The distribution of several enzymes, including laccase, Mn-peroxidase, and some hydrolases, reflected the distribution
of fungal biomass. Polysaccharide hydrolases exhibited similar spatial distribution patterns in the L horizon, and their activity coincided with a high fungal/bacterial biomass ratio. 相似文献

Tetratrichomonas gallinarum is a widespread intestinal parasite of galliform and anseriform birds. The pathogenicity of this species is controversial, presenting an unsettled problem as yet. We analysed the polymorphism and genetic relationship among 29 isolates of T. gallinarum obtained from eight bird species and five T. gallinarum-like isolates from the oral cavity and lower respiratory tract of human patients. Two methods were used for the analyses: RAPD and sequencing of 16S rRNA, 5.8S rRNA, ITS1 and ITS2 genes, both producing consistent and well-supported results. The isolates were divided into five groups, A-E, with eleven subgroups. The distance between groups E, D and the cluster A-B-C considerably exceeded usual intraspecific polymorphism seen in trichomonads. Moreover, the largest subgroup, A2 (containing 18 isolates), was divided into three branches according to the host specificity. All isolates from humans were placed into avian subgroups A2 and B2. We conclude that our isolates represent, at least, three morphospecies or rather complexes of several cryptic species. Since certain species of the T. gallinarum complex can differ in their biological characteristics and some of them can infect humans, the problem of T. gallinarum pathogenicity should be re-examined with regard to specific genetic groups and zoonotic potential of some of these lineages should be considered. 相似文献

The size- and time-resolved indoor/outdoor aerosol concentration relationships were studied experimentally in an empty office without internal particle sources. Two Scanning Mobility Particle Sizers (SMPS) and an Aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS) sampled alternately from indoor and outdoor, together covering the size range 3–10,000 nm. The results showed that the indoor aerosol concentration depends mainly on the air exchange and deposition rates, and the outdoor concentration. At higher air exchange rates the indoor aerosol concentration approaches the outdoor one. This was observed for the accumulation mode particles. The size-dependent deposition rates were estimated using a simple aerosol dynamics experiment. It was based on equilibration of the indoor/outdoor concentrations by opening windows and analyzing the concentration decay curves after the windows were closed. For this purpose a simple mass balance model was used. The overall loss rate and the asymptotic value of indoor concentration were found by applying a non-linear least squares method on the time dependence of the indoor concentrations. The air exchange rate was estimated from the overall loss rate and the steady state values of the indoor/outdoor concentration of the accumulation mode particles. 相似文献

Although European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) is one of the most widespread and ecologically and commercially most important deciduous trees in Europe, little is known about its adaptive genetic variation. We explored single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) variation in candidate genes for budburst and drought resistance in beech populations sampled across most of the distribution range, represented in an international provenance trial. SNP variation was monitored for six candidate genes, in 114 individuals from 19 natural populations. Population structure was deduced from the analysis of 20 nuclear microsatellite markers. Different methods to detect imprints of natural selection were used (F ST-outlier, SNP-climate regression, association tests). The F ST-outlier approach identified the COV gene with unambiguous signal of selection, which is an orthologue of Arabidopsis gene for a membrane protein previously reported as phenology-related. Based on environmental association analysis at the population level, the dehydrin gene was found associated with drought-related climatic variables. At the individual level, dehydrin gene also showed a significant association with chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, which are considered stress markers. The importance of the knowledge of physiological variation and geographical patterns of adaptive genetic variation for guiding reproductive materials transfer under climate change is stressed. 相似文献
