The aquafeed development has been initiated for horseshoe crabs in captivity. However, much of the attentions were to the juveniles for their widely used in research. Until recently, the research had incorporated the adult horseshoe crabs. This study aims to 1) determine the best alternative feeds for adult males of Carcinoscorpius rotundicauda, 2) measure the acceptance rate of feed, and 3) feeding utilization. Three semi‐moist pellets were either developed or purchased: fish (Decapterus russeli) and cockle (Anadara granosa) pellets (A), fish pellets (B) and keropok pellets (C). Natural feeds act as control: cockle, Anadara granosa (D) and fish, D. russeli (E). The horseshoe crabs were fed daily for 5 weeks and were analysed on their feed percentage consumption, body weight changes, feeding rate (FR), absorption efficiency (AE), feeding conversion ratio (FCR) and specific growth rate (SGR). Feed A was consumed the most (56.21%) with the highest FR (1.88%). It was influenced by the pellet's hardness, where horseshoe crabs favoured softer pellets. Body weight changes, FCR and SGR also showed a similar trend of favouring alternative feed over natural feed. Alternative feeds served a better feed than the natural feed and can be an option for future natural feed replacement for adult horseshoe crabs in captivity. Alternative feed served a better diet than the natural feed and Feed B served the best feed among the three alternative feeds with good C. rotundicauda growth performance and the feed itself is cost‐wise.  相似文献

The diversity, distribution, and species richness of benthic invertebrates were examined under extensive bottom cultivation of the tropical oyster Crassostrea belcheri during the summer of 2015 at Ban Don Bay, Suratthani Province, Southern Thailand. Oyster farms that had been operating for 25 years were selected for the study, and four sampling sites were allocated along each transect as (i) at the center of the farm, (ii) inside the farm, (iii) at the farm boundary, and (iv) a reference site. Results indicated that a total of 23 families and 28 species of benthic invertebrate taxa were recorded from the four sampling sites, and the macrobenthic invertebrates inhabiting all study sites consisted mainly of gastropods (11 species), polychaetes (11 species), and bivalves (8 species). No significant differences in total density, diversity index, evenness index, and species richness index of benthic invertebrates were found among each sampling site (P?>?0.05). Significant differences in total nitrogen, nitrate, nitrite, total ammonia, sulfide, total phosphorus, organic matter, and grain sizes of sediment were found among each sampling site, but no significant differences in pH and total nitrogen were found. Among the independent variables analyzed, correlation analysis showed relationships between benthic diversity indices and abiotic variables. There were no clear patterns of differences in the detrimental environmental effects between sampling site locations, which indicated a minimal ecological impact of oyster cultivation.  相似文献

In this study, the effects of different background colours on growth performance and physiological parameters of Epinephelus coioides were investigated. One hundred eighty E. coioides (average weight 18.16 ± 0.07 g) were distributed in black, white and blue 300‐L tanks and fed to satiation for 60 days. The tank colour had no significant effect on the weight gain, condition factor, hepatosomatic index and specific growth rate (p > .05). The lowest amount of viscerosomatic index and the highest carcass protein were recorded in the white tank (p < .05). Daily food intake, feed conversion ratio and plasma glucose were significantly higher in the blue tank (p < .05). The highest levels of haematocrit and plasma triglyceride were observed in the white tank, while the total protein and albumin were higher in the black tank compared to the other tanks. The tank colour had no significant effects on the plasma cortisol level (p > .05). Our findings showed that colours used in this study did not evoke stress and thus had no effect on growth, but some metabolic adaptation occurred in each colour to achieve optimum growth.  相似文献

This trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of replacing dietary fish oil with Schizochytrium meal for Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) larvae (initial body weight 4.21 ± 0.10 mg). Six test microdiets were formulated using Schizochytrium meal to replace 0 g/kg, 250 g/kg, 500 g/kg, 750 g/kg, 1000 g/kg or 1500 g/kg fish oil DHA. No significant differences were observed in survival, growth, final body length and activities of digestive enzyme among shrimp fed different diets (p > .05). No significant differences were observed in C20:5n‐3 (EPA) in muscle samples (p > .05). C18:3n‐3 and C20:4n‐6 in muscle increased as Schizochytrium meal replacement level increased (p < .05). No significant differences were observed in C22:6n‐3 (DHA) and n‐3 fatty acids among shrimp fed diets that algae meal replaced 0 g/kg ‐ 1000 g/kg of fish oil. Shrimp fed diet R150 had higher DHA content than other groups and had higher n‐3 fatty acids than that of shrimp fed diets R50, R75 and R100 (p < .05). C18:2n‐6, PUFA and n‐6 fatty acids in muscle increased, while n‐3/n‐6 ratio decreased with increasing algae meal replacement level from 0 g/kg to 1000 g/kg (p < .05). In conclusion, Schizochytrium meal could replace 1500 g/kg fish oil DHA in the microdiets without negatively affecting shrimp larvae survival, growth and activities of digestive enzyme.  相似文献

The study amalgamated earthworm and agro‐industrial wastes through vermicomposting and then evaluated the potential of the bedding (mixture of Eisenia fetida and vermicompost) to replace fishmeal in semi‐intensive farming of Oreochromis niloticus. The bedding was used to substitute fishmeal at inclusion rates of 100, 60, 30 and 0% (D100, D60, D30 and control D0). In triplicates, the four homogeneous diets were fed to quadruplicate groups of 30 g O. niloticus for 112 days. There was no significant difference (p > .05) in mortalities, average length gain and FCR among all tests. Nevertheless, diet D0 had significantly (p < .05) superior amino acid profile, low fibre content and fish carcass crude protein (63.2 ± 0.72% dry matter). Subsequently, D30 and D0 produced fish with significantly higher (p < .05) mean weight gain (256.03 ± 0.4 g) and biomass (369,136 g) respectively. On to the contrary, diet D100 had significantly higher (p < .05) crude lipids content (9.4 ± 0.6% dry matter), economic returns and profit index than the control diet due to the comparatively low cost of producing the earthworm bedding. This simple biotechnology can commercially be upscaled to sustainably produce cheap and nutritious fish feed capable of increasing yields and maximizing profits.  相似文献

In this experiment, a feeding trial was performed to determine the effects of fructooligosaccharide (FOS) on growth performance, digestive enzyme activity and immune response of Japanese sea bass, Lateolabrax japonicus juveniles (initial weight 38.3 ± 0.5 g), and the fish were examined following feeding with six levels of FOS (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 6 g/kg) for 28 days. Significant enhancement of weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate (SGR) was found in fish fed 1 g/kg FOS incorporated diets (p < .05), while the feed conversion ratio (FCR) in the 1, 2 g/kg FOS groups reduced significantly compared with the control (p < .05). Besides, the crude lipid in the 4, 6 g/kg FOS groups increased significantly compared with the control (p < .05). On the other hand, the erepsin and lipase activities significantly elevated in intestine of fish fed 2 g/kg FOS (p < .05) and the lysozyme activity in serum of fish fed 2 g/kg FOS were significantly higher than that in the control (p < .05). Moreover, the alkaline phosphatase activities in serum of fish fed 0.5, 1, 2 g/kg FOS were significantly higher than in control (p < .05). Regression analysis showed that the relationships between dietary FOS levels and either SGR, FCR, erepsin or lysozyme activities were best expressed by regression equations, and the optimal inclusion levels are 1.37, 1.80, 3.06, 3.11, 1.93 and 1.80 g/kg for SGR, FCR, erepsin, lipase, lysozyme and total superoxide dismutase activities, respectively. Overall, this study revealed that FOS incorporated diets could beneficial for L. japonicus culture in terms of increasing the growth, digestion and immune activities. Under the present experimental condition, the optimal supplementary level of FOS in the diet of L. japonicus is 1–3 g/kg.  相似文献

A 10 weeks trial was performed to investigate how different carbon sources (sugar beet molasses: SBM+BFT, sugar: S+BFT, corn starch: CS+BFT) along with control affect welfare status of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) fingerlings in biofloc‐based tanks. Three hundred healthy fingerlings (22.5 ± 0.2 g) were randomly distributed in 12 tanks (70 L) at a density of 8.02 kg/m3 (25 fish/tank). The fish in BFT treatments fed only 75% feeding rate of control. At the end of the experiment no differences were seen between the groups in case of growth performance, but the fish reared in CS+BFT had a significant lower food conversion ratio compared with the others (p < .05). Different carbon sources did not affect on haematological parameters (p > .05). Total serum protein and antibody concentration differed in treatments, and the highest values were found in S+BFT and CS+BFT treatments (p < .05). No significant differences were observed in case of lysozyme, superoxide dismutase and complement activity in treatments (p > .05), whereas the fish in BFT treatments showed a significant higher total antioxidant capacity and lower glutathione peroxidase than the control (p < .05). Different carbon sources resulted in no change in goblet and kupffer cells in intestine and liver respectively. The highest relative percentage survival was obtained in the CS+BFT and S+BFT (50%) in comparison with SBM+BFT (20%) treatment. The results obtained in this experiment, suggest that corn starch improves immune response, diseases resistance and histology of digestive and respiratory systems in carp fingerlings when used as a carbon source in zero water exchange system.  相似文献

A 12‐week feeding trial was conducted to assess the impact of fishmeal replacement with blood meal or dried porcine solubles on the growth performance, body composition and intestinal morphology of common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Fishmeal was 50% substituted with either blood meal or dried porcine solubles, or two‐third substituted with both alternative products, at a 1:1 ratio. There was no significant difference in survival, final weight, weight gain ratio, feed conversion ratio or condition factor between the control and experimental groups (p > .05), although the visceral somatic index of the blood meal group was higher than that of the control group (p < .05). Crude lipid content was significantly higher in the dried porcine soluble group than that in the control group (p < .05), while other nutrient levels were not significantly different (p > .05). The amino acid composition of each experimental group was not significantly different from that of the control (p > .05). The intestinal villus height and fold depth of each experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group (p < .05). The results of this study show that two‐third fishmeal substituted with both blood meal and dried porcine solubles, at a 1:1 ratio, is the optimal fishmeal replacement for common carp growth.  相似文献

Common carp, Cyprinus carpio (13.54 ± 0.48 g), were fed soybean lecithin‐incorporated diets for 8 weeks. After the feeding trials, the different groups of fishes were assessed by survival, growth parameters, digestive enzymes, antioxidant enzyme activities, mucosal immune parameters, etc. The lecithin‐incorporated diets (10–30 g kg–1) helped to increase the weight gain significantly (p < .05) compared with control groups; activity of digestive enzymes was also significantly (p < .05) higher compared with experimental groups. The antioxidant enzymes including catalase and serum superoxide dismutase were significantly (p < .05) higher in the C. carpio fed lecithin‐incorporated feed than the ones fed the control feed. The serum thiobarbituric acid‐reactive substances and serum glutathione peroxidase activity did not differ significantly (p > .05) between control and experimental groups. The positive correlation supported that antibacterial activity was significantly (p < .05) increased with increasing concentration of lecithin in the diets. Among the different mucosal immune parameters, lysozyme, protease and esterase activities were significantly (p < .05) increased with lecithin‐incorporated diets. The results of this study confirm that 20 and 30 g kg–1 lecithin inclusion in diets helped to enhance the activities of digestive enzymes, antioxidant enzymes, antibacterial factors and mucosal immune parameters in C. carpio.  相似文献

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have a crucial role in inorganic selenium metabolism as well as their known desirable effects on fish. In this study, the synergistic effects of dietary sodium selenite and Pediococcus acidilactici on growth performance, intestinal bacterial counts, selenium bioavailability, hepatic antioxidant enzyme thioredoxin reductase activity and hepatic glycolytic enzyme activity that is hexokinase, phosphofructokinase and pyruvate kinase, and non‐specific immune response such as serum lysozyme and complements C3, C4 and ACH50 activity in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were investigated. Thus, a 3 × 3 factorial design experiment was conducted with nine purified diets including three levels of sodium selenite (0, 1 and 2 mg/kg) and three levels of P. acidilactici (0, 7 and 9 log CFU/g). After 8 weeks of feeding, weight gain and specific growth rate were increased by increasing dietary sodium selenite and P. acidilactici levels compared to control (p < .05), whereas feed conversion ratio and condition factor was decreased by increasing dietary sodium selenite and P. acidilactici amounts in comparison with control (p < .05). Survival rate was not significantly affected among the experimental treatments (p > .05). Total cultivable bacterial populations after 4 and 8 weeks of the feeding trial were not significantly different among the dietary treatments, while LAB levels were higher in P. acidilactici‐fed groups than in control and selenium‐fed groups (p < .05). Selenocysteine, methylselenocysteine and selenomethionine levels in the intestine of rainbow trout were increased by increasing the sodium selenite and P. acidilactici levels (p < .05), and selenocysteine was found the most selenium species in the trout intestine. The quantity of total selenium in the whole body, intestine, blood, liver and muscle of rainbow trout were increased by increasing the amounts of sodium selenite and P. acidilactici compared to control (p < .05). Hepatic thioredoxin reductase and hexokinase activity were increased by increasing dietary selenium and P. acidilactici levels in comparison to control (p < .05), whereas phosphofructokinase and pyruvate kinase activity in the liver of rainbow trout were not significantly different between the dietary treatments. Serum lysozyme, complements C3, C4 and ACH50 activity were enhanced by increasing dietary selenium and P. acidilactici levels compared to control (p < .05). The most synergistic effects of dietary supplements on growth and metabolism of rainbow trout were obtained at 2 mg/kg sodium selenite and 7 log CFU/g P. acidilactici. The findings revealed the synergistic effect of dietary selenium and P. acidilactici on growth and metabolism in rainbow trout (O. mykiss).  相似文献

In order to determine the chelating effect of activated charcoal, a total of 150 beluga (270 g) were fed for 60 days with a diet containing 0 (control), 5, 10, 15 and 20 g activated charcoal per kg. Afterwards, the fish were subjected to challenging with 1 mg/L of each of heavy metals including lead, cadmium and copper during seven days. As results, the highest percentage of body weight gain, specific growth rate, condition factor, protein efficiency ratio and the lowest feed conversion ratio before and after challenging with heavy metals were obtained in 15 g treatment with significant differences comparing to other treatment (p < .05). In all treatments, considerable differences were observed between two experimental stages of all parameters except condition factor and feed conversion ratio (p < .05). No mortalities were observed during the experiment. Before challenging with heavy metals, 15 g treatment showed the lowest activities of AST and ALT enzymes, and uric acid, protein, albumin and cholesterol amounts. The minimum amounts of creatinine and glucose were recorded in the control and 20 g treatments respectively. The highest levels of these parameters, except for creatinine and uric acid, were measured in the control group. After challenging with heavy metals, the lowest levels of AST and ALT enzyme activities, uric acid, creatinine, and glucose, and the highest amounts of protein, albumin and cholesterol belonged to 15 g, whereas the results in the control group were almost opposite. In all treatments, significant differences were observed between two experimental stages of all parameters except AST, uric acid, glucose and cholesterol (p < .05). In the pre‐challenge stage, the maximum amount of carcass protein was observed in 15 g while the differences in lipid content were not significant (p > .05). Moreover, the highest contents of moisture and ash were measured in the control group and 20 g respectively. After the challenge, the highest values of protein and lipid were quantified in 15 g, while the maximum values of ash and moisture were observed in 20 g and control group respectively. Also, significant differences were observed just in ash and moisture amounts in both stages (p < .05). Accumulations of cadmium, copper and lead were maximal in the control group in both stages, and their amount were decreased in sample with 15 g of activated charcoal until they reached to their lowest value in sample with 20 g of activated charcoal. The only different parameter between two treatments was copper amount. Also, significant differences were observed in all treatments in both stages (p < .05). Although activated charcoal at 20 g/kg diet yielded the best results in metal chelation, it is recommended to add 15 g/kg of activated charcoal to the diet of beluga because of other parameters.  相似文献

This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of exogenous multienzyme complex (EC) on growth performance, digestive enzyme activity and non‐specific immunity of the Japanese seabass, Lateolabrax japonicus (initial weight 27.09 ± 0.08 g). EC includes protease, xylanase, glucanase and mannase. Japanese seabass were given six levels of EC (0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 g/kg) for 28 days. Results show that EC significantly enhanced the weight gain rate and specific growth rate (p < .05), while the feed conversion ratio reduced significantly (p < .05). Activities of lipase and trypsin in liver and intestine significantly increased (p < .05). Alkaline phosphatase, superoxide dismutase and lysozyme activities in serum and liver significantly increased (p < .05), while the content of malondialdehyde in liver significantly declined (p < .05). Regression analysis showed that the optimal supplementation of EC in WGR, SGR, FCR, SOD and LZM activity in serum was 1.66, 1.67, 1.81, 1.71 and 1.53 g/kg, respectively, while the best SOD, LZM activity in liver, trypsin activity in liver and intestine supplement were 1.64, 1.51, 1.81 and 1.97 g/kg. In conclusion, EC supplemented can improve the growth performance, digestive enzyme activity and non‐specific immunity of Japanese seabass, and it is recommended that the optimal supplementation of EC in diets of Japanese seabass is 1.5–2.0 g/kg.  相似文献

This study evaluated the impact of dietary ginger and liquorice supplementation on growth performance, physiological and histopathological profiles and heavy metal accumulation in Nile tilapia fingerlings. Fish (n = 1,800, 17.5 ± 0.11 g BW) were randomly distributed into four treatment groups in triplicates and received no supplementation (control group), 5 ml aqueous ginger extract/kg feed (ginger group), 4 ml aqueous liquorice extract/kg feed (liquorice group) or 2.5 ml ginger plus 2 ml liquorice aqueous extracts/kg feed (mix group). The ginger‐liquorice mix supply improved the growth performance and feed efficiency (p < .05), increased the haematocrit and haemoglobin (p < .05), leucocytes (p = .108), neutrophils (p = .054), serum total protein (p < .05), albumin (p = .011) and globulin (p = .094) but decreased (p < .05) the blood urea nitrogen and creatinine than feeding liquorice or ginger lonely compared to the control. Heavy metal loads in pond water induced lamellar telangiectasis of gills and necrosis with sloughing of intestinal villi tips. These detrimental effects were alleviated, and the intestinal villus length (p = .041) and crypt depth (p = .069) were increased with liquorice supply. In all treatment groups, heavy metal contents in fish flesh were lower compared to the control. Thus, using ginger and/or liquorice aqueous extracts can decrease heavy metal accumulation in the fish flesh and exert positive effects on growth performance, metabolic profile and the intestinal and gill morphology of Nile tilapia.  相似文献

In order to clarify the respiratory responses strategy of Amur sturgeon Acipenser schrenckii exposed to water temperature changes, respiratory parameters of the fish were studied under two temperature regimes: fish acclimated at 13°C for Group I, temperature was increased to 16°C, 19°C, 22°C and 25°C and then returned stepwise to 22°C, 19°C, 16°C and 13°C; and fish acclimated at 25°C for Group II, the water temperature was reduced in steps to 22°C, 19°C, 16°C and 13°C, subsequently, returned to 16°C, 19°C, 22°C and 25°C. The results showed that the respiratory frequency (fR), oxygen consumption rate (VO2) and gill ventilation (VG) of the fish were directly dependent on the acute temperature in both acclimation groups (p < .05). The initial 25°C VO2 in Group II was significantly higher than the initial 13°C VO2 in Group I (p < .05), but was significantly lower than that at 25°C in Group I (p < .05). In Group I, respiratory stroke volume (VS.R) of fish significantly increased or decreased with the acute temperature increases or decreases, respectively (p < .05); oxygen consumption efficiencies (EO2) of fish did not significantly show differences when temperature increased to 25°C from 13°C (p > .05), but the EO2 significantly declined while returning to acclimation temperature (p < .05). In Group II, the VS.R of the fish did not significantly change with acute temperature fluctuations between 25 and 13°C (p > .05), while the EO2 increased with acute temperature increases (p < .05). The Q10 values for fR, VO2, VS.R, VG and EO2 were 1.53–1.72, 1.92–2.06, 1.07–1.60, 1.78–2.44 and 1.11–1.65 at 13–25°C of temperature interval respectively. Amur sturgeon showed partial metabolic compensation to temperature changes. The study results suggest that the ability of Amur sturgeon to regulate metabolism in response to acute temperature changes makes this species good adaptability in the aquaculture rearing.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine the growth performance, meat quality and colour attributes of large rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in net cage systems in the southern Black Sea coasts of Turkey. In the study, large rainbow trout with an initial weight of 1,322.07 ± 57.72 g were reached to 3,385.30 ± 140.98 g and the survival rates were 95.69 ± 1.32% in 5‐month production period. Crude protein and crude fat values of fish meat were ranged between 16.75 ± 0.07–20.18 ± 0.90% and 9.22 ± 0.15–12.29 ± 0.42%, respectively (p < .05). The essential and non‐essential amino acid values were between 12.92 ± 0.02–13.09 ± 0.01 g/100 g and 11.97 ± 0.14–11.47 ± 0.01 g/100 g, respectively (p > .05). C20:5n‐3, C22:6n‐3, ?3 and ?6 values in fish meat were between 4.32 ± 0.02–4.30 ± 0.08% (p < .05), 8.31 ± 0.10–7.72 ± 0.15% (p < .05), 13.41 ± 0.10–12.93 ± 0.23% (p < .05) and 21.85 ± 0.06%‐19.74 ± 0.36 (p < .05), respectively. As a result, it can be concluded that large rainbow trout cultured in the southern Black Sea coasts of Turkey is a rich source of food in terms of fatty and amino acid compositions and atherogenicity index, thrombogenicity index and hypocholesterolaemic/hypercholesterolaemic values.  相似文献

A 60‐day feeding trial was conducted to illustrate the effect of dietary protein levels on the growth and physio‐metabolic responses of juvenile Litopenaeus vannamei reared in inland saline water (ISW). Six isoenergetic (15 MJ/kg) and isolipidic (60 g/kg) diets with graded level of crude protein viz., 240 (T240), 260 (T260), 280 (T280), 300 (T300), 320 (T320) and 340 (T340) g/kg diet were formulated. Significantly higher (p < .05) weight gain (%), specific growth rate, with lower food conversion ratio were found in T320 and T340 groups. The protein utilizing efficiency and whole‐body protein content were significantly higher (p < .05) in the T320 group. Trypsin activity increased with the increasing dietary CP level but amylase activity decreased with the increasing dietary CP level. Transaminase enzymes, haemolymph protein and haemocyanin were elevated in T320 and T340 groups. The lactate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase activities were significantly higher (p < .05) in the T240 group. Shrimp of T240 group had the lowest (p < .05) glycogen and total haemocyte count with highest (p < .05) haemolymph glucose and antioxidant enzymes activities than the other groups. Based on the results, feeding 320 g CP/kg is found to be optimum for supporting maximum growth and health status of L. vannamei reared in ISW at 8 g/L salinity. The finding of the present study will help in developing a low‐cost feed for L. vannamei reared in ISW.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of mixed Bacillus on growth, water quality and disease resistance against Vibrio harveyi in whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Postlarval shrimp (PL30) were fed with (a) a basal diet (the control), (b) a diet containing mixed freeze‐dried Bacillus probiotics (FB) and (c) addition of mixed microencapsulated Bacillus probiotics (MB) in culture water. Addition of FB and MB probiotics improved (p < .05) growth, feed efficiency, survival and culture water quality (ammonia and nitrite) compared to the control group although there was no difference (p > .05) between the two treated groups. Bacillus numbers in gastrointestinal tracts and culture water of FB‐ and MB‐administrated shrimp were higher (p < .05) than in the control. After a 30‐day culture, shrimp were infected with V. harveyi and monitored for 10 days. A significant reduction (p < .05) in cumulative mortality was observed in FB‐ and MB‐supplemented shrimp (43.24% and 45.05%, respectively), compared to the control (63.06%). This finding demonstrated that administration of microencapsulated probiotics was as effective as freeze‐dried probiotics for improving growth, feed efficiency, survival, Bacillus in gastrointestinal tracts, water quality (ammonia and nitrite) and conferring disease resistance to V. harveyi.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation of microbial floc on growth, digestive and immune enzymes activity, antioxidant status and ammonia resistance in Opsariichthys kaopingensis. Four hundred fifty healthy O. kaopingensis juveniles (6.21 ± 0.32 g) were randomly assigned to 15 tanks. Juvenile fish were fed five experimental diets containing microbial floc 0 (B0 control), 4% (B4), 8% (B8), 12% (B12) and 16% (B16), respectively, for 30 days. Results showed that B12 could significantly enhance weight gain rate (WGR), specific growth rate (SGR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER), reduce feed conversion rate (FCR) (p < .05), compared to the control. The activity of protease, lipase and amylase in hepatopancreas and gut of B12 group were higher than that of the control (p < .05). Also, significant increases in lysozyme (LSZ), glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and alkaline phosphatase (AKP) activities of O. kaopingensis were found at B12 group (p < .05). Comparing the antioxidant capacity, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), total antioxidant capacity (T‐AOC), catalase (CAT) and ascorbic acid (ASA) of juveniles in B12 group were significant highly (p < .05) than control, and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was much lower than control in gill, kidney, hepatopancreas, intestine and serum under this experiment condition. After ammonia challenge, survival rate in all dietary supplementation of microbial floc treatment groups was significantly increased (p < .05). Overall, these findings suggest that dietary supplementation of microbial floc enhanced growth, digestion, antioxidant and immune response, and increased ammonia stress resistance in O. kaopingensis. The suitable supplemental level of approximately 12% microbial floc was recommended in the present study.  相似文献

Effects of dietary supplementation of Tribulus terrestris (TT) and 17α‐methyl testosterone (MT) on growth performance and reproductive efficiency of male Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (N = 75, initial weight 60 ± 3.251 g), were evaluated. Five experimental treatments in triplicate were fed on basal diet (30% crude protein) (control group, CG), basal diet containing 60 mg MT (MT group) and basal diet containing 250, 500 and 750 mg/kg diet TT (TT250, TT500 and TT750 groups), respectively, for consecutive 45 days. Results revealed that the fish received TT in diet showed better growth performance (final body weight, weight gain, feed conversion ratio, specific growth rate, testes weight and gonadosomatic index) compared with MT and CG (p < .05), as well as for haemoglobin content and red blood cell count (p < .05). The highest level of testosterone, 11‐keto testosterone, sperm concentration and vitality was recorded in TT750 followed by TT500, TT250 and MT groups, while the lowest value was recorded in the CG (p < .05). The highest seminiferous tubule diameter was recorded in TT750 followed by TT500, TT250 and CG, while the lowest diameter was recorded in the MT group (p < .05). Fish received TT showed normal dilated seminiferous tubule filled with large amount of free sperms within their lumen in a dose related effect. In conclusion, male Nile tilapia dietary supplementation with different inclusions of Tribulus terrestris extract specially 500 and 750 mg/kg diet improves growth performance, health condition, semen quality and reproductive efficiency without any harmful effect on water quality.  相似文献
