A total of 237 Plant Introduction in eleven Trifolium species were evaluated for resistance to Meloidogyne arenaria (Neal) Chitwood race 1, M. hapla Chitwood, M. incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood race 3, and M. javanica (Treub) Chitwood. Plants were infected with 1500 nematode eggs collected from 'Rutgers' tomato (Lycoperiscon esculentum Mill.) roots with 0.5% NaOCl. Ratings of galling severity and egg mass production were assigned to each plant 8 wk after inoculation. Host plant reaction was classified as immune, highly resistant, resistant, moderately resistant, intermediate, moderately susceptible, susceptible, and highly susceptible according to the resistance index . More than 95% of 171 white clover accessions were moderately to highly susceptible to all four nematodes species. The best white clover accessions were only moderately resistant to either M. arenaria (PI 291843 and PI 306286) or M. hapla (PI 100250 and PI 204930). Accessions with moderate resistance or resistance to root-knot nematodes were found among relatives of white clover, with T. ambiguum M. Bieb. exhibiting the greatest resistance level. Among the other Trifolium species evaluated, T. carolinianum Michx. PI 516273 was immune or highly resistant to all four nematode species while accessions of T. hirtum All. showed a wide range of reaction to root-knot nematodes. Identified germplasm of white clover relatives with resistance to root knot nematodes should be useful for the selection of parents in white clover breeding programs.  相似文献

从广西不同地区采集的28种植物根结线虫病的病原,按病原线虫的主要形态学特征和寄主反应的鉴定方法,对每种病原进行了分类鉴定。其中穗状鸡冠花、胡椒、蕹菜、胡萝卜,芭蕉芋、鸡蛋果、莞荽(香菜)、苋苯、荷包豆、吉庆果、黄麻、黄穗鸡冠等根结线虫病的病原都是属南方根结线虫1号小种;风仙花、辣椒、蕹菜、番茄、独头鸡冠花、红穗鸡冠、罗汉果、黄麻、芹菜根结线虫有一种是南方根结线虫1号小种,另一种是爪哇根结线虫;甜叶菊、姜根结线虫病的病原有一种是南方根结线虫1号小种,另一种是花生根结线虫1号小种;吉庆果、四季海棠、茄、棕竹、柳树的根结线虫病的病原是爪哇根结线虫;罗汉果、丝瓜、红麻根结线虫病的病原有一种是爪哇根结线虫,另一种是花生根结线虫1号小种;花生根结线虫病的病原是花生根结线虫1号小种。发现二个新种:即水稻根结线虫病的病原是林氏根结线虫;柑桔根结线虫病的病原是孔氏根结线虫。  相似文献

The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica Race 3 is an important nematode parasite of groundnut. Greenhouse evaluation of 184 accessions of 33 wild Arachis spp. five interspecific derivatives, 18 groundnut cultivars for root damage (galls formed by nematode) and nematode reproduction demonstrated that resistance to the nematode is available in the genepool of wild Arachis spp. Seven accessions, ICG 8952 (Arachis helodes), ICC 13211 (A. sylvestris), ICG 13224 (A. kretscmeri), ICG 13231 (Arachis sp.), ICG 14862 (A. kuhlmannii), ICG 14868 (A. stenosperma), and ICG 14915 (A. sylvestris) were highly resistant to nematode reproduction and root damage. There was no gall and eggmass formation on any plant of these accessions. Thirty-three accessions were resistant and 14 were moderately resistant. All the tested accessions of A. monticola, A. benensis, A. ipaensis, A. hoehnei, A. kempff-mercadoi, A. valida, A. chiquitana, A. rigonii, A. vallsii, A. dardani, A. paraguariensis, A. triseminata, interspecific derivatives, and groundnut cultivars were susceptible. The possible use of resistance sources in the breeding program is discussed.  相似文献

Eyespot disease, caused by Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides, can be devastating to winter wheat grown in northern Europe and the northwest USA. Accessions from eight different tetraploid wheat species randomly extracted from core collections were scored for resistance to eyespot disease using a -glucuronidase (GUS)-transformed strain of P. herpotrichoides. The GUS values for the combined population followed a quasi-Gaussian distribution. Three species, Triticum dicoccoides, T. durum and T. turanicum, showed significant variation (P < 0.001) in disease response with T. dicoccoides having the lowest disease scores, i.e. highest levels of resistance. All tetraploid accessions were less resistant than resistant diploid T. tauschii accessions. Thirteen percent of tetraploid accessions had disease scores that ranged between the average of the resistant accessions of T. tauschii and the moderately resistant hexaploid germplasm line Cerco. Eight accessions (three accessions of T. dicoccoides, two of T. turgidum and three of T. durum) with low disease scores (resistance) to infection were selected for further genetic analysis.  相似文献

Summary The 99 accessions of seven wild Lactuca species (L. serriola, L. saligna, L. virosa, L. viminea, L. perennis, L. tenerrima, L. tatarica) and Mycelis muralis (syn. L. muralis) were tested for natural infection of Erysiphe cichoracearum L. serriola accessions were highly susceptible. L. saligna showed highly variable levels of resistance. Other Lactuca species were mostly resistant or only moderately susceptible.  相似文献

The main goal of this study is to gain insight into the relationship between the genetic profile of cultivated rice (Oryza spp.) accessions and their resistance to rice blast. Therefore, the genetic and phenotypic variability of a set of 350 cultivated rice accessions originating from Africa (Benin, Mali and Nigeria, Ivory Coast etc.) was examined. Seventy-seven fluorescent amplified fragment polymorphism (AFLP) markers were used to gain insight into the genetic variation and to classify the germplasm collection. In addition, the rice germplasm was assessed for its resistance to blast disease caused by Pyricularia oryzae in upland field conditions. Huge differences in responses of rice accessions to P. oryzae were observed, ranging from highly susceptible to highly resistant. Twelve percent of all accessions were highly resistant to P. oryzae. Based on their AFLP marker profile these highly resistant accessions could be separated from the other accessions. Stepwise regression revealed that the best prediction of the blast resistance level was achieved with a maximum number of 13 AFLP markers. Marker CTA22 was the most important for accurate prediction of blast resistance, this marker was present in all highly resistant accessions. It can be concluded that AFLP markers are a valuable tool to screen rice accessions for their susceptibility towards blast disease and that, based on a subset of markers, it is possible to predict the resistance to rice blast.  相似文献

Soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines; SCN) is becoming a serious problem in azuki bean (Vigna angularis var. angularis) production in Hokkaido, Japan. To find sources of resistance to SCN, we screened wild relatives of azuki bean and calculated “female indices” (FIs) of 342 accessions from 8 Vigna species that are cross-compatible with azuki bean. Twenty-three accessions belonging to V. hirtella, V. minima, V. nakashimae, V. riukiuensis, and V. tenuicaulis were resistant to the most prevalent SCN race, race 3, but most of them were only moderately resistant or susceptible to race 5. Four promising accessions (V. minima JP205886, JP205891, and JP210806, and V. nakashimae JP107879) showed a high level of resistance to all SCN races found in Japan (1, 3, and 5) and race 2 (an experimentally derived race from race 5). Since the SCN-resistant soybean cultivars released in Japan are not resistant to races 2 and 5, these wild Vigna accessions may have resistance mechanisms different from that of soybean. Continuous culture of race 3 on promising accessions showed that it might be difficult to overcome the resistance of these accessions. The resistance sources found in this study will be useful in controlling SCN through the breeding of SCN-resistant azuki bean cultivars. This study also showed the effectiveness of using wild genetic resources for identifying novel resistance sources.  相似文献

Lentil anthracnose (Colletotrichum truncatum (Schwein.) Andrus et W.D. Moore is a potential threat in many lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) production regions of North America. In the lentil germplasm maintained in Germany and North America, 16 lines were reported to have resistance to race Ct1, but none has resistance reported to race Ct0. The objective of this study was to examine accessions of wild Lens species for their resistance to races Ct1 and Ct0 of lentil anthracnose. Five hundred and seventy-four wild accessions of six species and control lines were screened in two replications under both field and greenhouse conditions using a 1–9 scoring scale (1, highly resistant; 2–3, resistant; 4–5, moderately resistant; 6–7, susceptible; and 8–9, highly susceptible). Indianhead and PI 320937 were resistant while Eston and Pardina were susceptible to race Ct1 as expected. However, none of the check lines were resistant to race Ct0. Among the six Lens wild species tested, accessions of Lens ervoides (Brign.) Grande had the highest level of resistance, 3–5 to race Ct1 and Ct0 followed by L. lamottei Czefr. in the field and greenhouse. Lens orientalis (Boiss.), L. odemensis L., L. nigricans (M. Bieb.) Godron and L. tomentosus L. were highly susceptible, 8–9 to race Ct0 in the greenhouse. The highest frequency of resistance, especially in L. ervoides (Brign.) Grande, was found in accessions originating from Syria and Turkey. The usefulness of these L. ervoides (Brign.) Grande accessions as sources of resistance to the more virulent race of anthracnose in a lentil breeding program is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Host resistance in managing the southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) is limited by the existence of races of this nematode species. Pepper (Capistrano frutens) cultivar ‘Capistrano’ released for resistance against M. incognita races 3 and 4 in Central and South America, was evaluated for host-status and host-sensitivity to M. incognita race 2 in Limpopo Province, South Africa. Plants in pots uninoculated or inoculated with nematodes were arranged in a completely randomized design, with 15 replications. At 120 days after inoculation, the reproductive factor was less than unity, while nematode infection had no effect on plant growth. Thus, the cultivar is resistant to M. incognita race 2 and could be included in crop rotation systems intended to suppress population densities of M. incognita race 2.  相似文献

With the objective to identify new sources of resistance to wheat stem rust, a collection of 169 accessions ofAegilops tauschii, obtained from the IPK genebank at Gatersleben, Germany, were screened for resistance undercontrolled conditions. Fourteen (8%) accessions were resistant to stem rust among which 10 were highly resistant(IT 5 ; and 1) and four exhibited a moderately resistance reaction (IT 5 2). From the synthetic hexaploids whichwere produced by hybridizing resistant Ae. tauschii with susceptible Triticum durum, six synthetics expressed ahigh level of stem rust resistance similar to their corresponding diploid parents, while five displayed either areduced or complete susceptibility compared to their Ae. tauschii parents. This suppression of resistance at thehexaploid level suggests the presence of suppressor genes in the A and/ or B genomes of the T. durum parents.Inheritance of resistance from crosses of five stem rust resistant synthetic hexaploids with two susceptible T.aestivum genotypes revealed that three of the synthetics (syn 101, syn 601 and syn 801) possessed one dominantgene each, syn 111 has two different dominant genes and syn 116 has two complementary interacting genes forstem rust resistance. Intercrosses among the four stem rust resistant synthetic hexaploids indicated that the putativegenes conferring stem rust resistance in each of the synthetics are neither allelic nor closely linked to each other.  相似文献

Summary A Cannabis germplasm collection was evaluated for traits relevant to the use of hemp as an arable source of paper pulp. The traits were related to stem yield and quality, psychoactive potency, resistance to root-knot nematodes and plant morphology. The present study is directed at diversity for these traits considered together. For the interpretation of diversity patterns, accessions were grouped on the basis of the presumed purpose and status of domestication resulting in the recognition of four plant-use groups: fibre cultivars, fibre landraces, drug strains, and truly wild or naturalized populations. Principal component analysis showed that stem quality, phenological development, psychoactive potency and host reactions to root-knot nematodes explained most of the total variation among accessions. The plant-use groups were reasonably well separated in the principal component space. Discriminant analysis showed that the a priori defined plant-use groups could be discriminated quite well on the basis of linear combinations of all agronomic and morphological traits. The contents of bark fibre and cannabinoids had the highest grouping value. Reallocations concerned mainly old fibre cultivars which were placed in the group of fibre landraces due to a low content of bark fibre.A genetic characterization of accessions was based on electrophoretic patterns of seed proteins. Isoelectric ocusing patterns of bulk seed extracts showed variation for the presence of six out of 45 protein bands in the H range from 4.75 to 6.40. Banding patterns were however independent from any grouping based on origin or gronomic and morphological traits and did not reflect expected common ancestry of accessions.  相似文献

The International Cocoa Genebank, Trinidad (ICG,T) contains about 2000 cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) accessions. The purpose of the collection is to provide a source of genes for the genetic improvement of cacao through breeding. In fulfilling this objective, it is imperative that this collection be evaluated to identify major sources of genes for the genetic improvement of important agronomic–economic traits. In this study, 816 cacao accessions were evaluated for resistance to Phytophthora pod rot (black pod disease), which causes enormous loss of yield in cocoa production throughout the world.The study identifies promising resistant genotypes that could be exploited in cacao breeding programmes. It further compares the levels of resistance to Phytophthora pod rot among two cacao types (wild and cultivated types), three major groups (Forastero, Trinitario and Refractario) and 11 accession groups (B, AM, CL, ICS, IMC, JA, LP, MOQ, NA, PA and TRD) . The distribution of scores for the 816 accessions showed skewness towards the susceptible end of the disease rating scale, indicating that a large proportion (68.9%) of the sample was susceptible (disease rating 6–8) to Phytophthora pod rot. However, 12.9% of the sample population was found to be resistant (disease rating 1–3) and 18.2% moderately resistant (disease rating 4–5). Significant differences were observed between the wild and cultivated accessions and among the Forastero, Refractario and Trinitario groups. Marked differences were also observed among 11 accession groups, each of which was represented by at least 20 genotypes. Higher proportions of resistant (17.7%) and moderately resistant (22.6%) genotypes were observed in the wild accessions than in the cultivated varieties (9.4% resistant and 14.4% moderately resistant). The Forastero group, consisting of many wild accessions, was found to contain more resistant (18.0%) and moderately resistant (23.1%) genotypes than either the Trinitario (4.8% resistant and 13.6% moderately resistant) or Refractario (11.3% resistant and 15.4% moderately resistant). Among 11 accession groups, the largest percentage of resistant (24.2%) and moderately resistant (28.8%) genotypes were found in the PA (Forastero). Different accession groups had varying proportions of resistant and moderately resistant genotypes. This is not unexpected in an out-breeding crop such as cacao with a high level of heterogeneity. This finding reinforces the idea of a pre-breeding programme (germplasm enhancement) to accumulate resistance genes over several populations as a strategy for improving the genetic base of resistance in national cacao breeding programmes. One hundred and five promising resistant genotypes were identified among the 816 accessions evaluated. These accessions are potential sources of resistance genes for the development of high-yielding resistant varieties in cacao.  相似文献

机会真菌对根结线虫的生物防治具有巨大潜力。本研究于2010—2011年针对来源于中国7个省份的156份烟草根结线虫样本,分别分离根结线虫游离卵、卵块和雌虫上定殖的机会真菌。应用18S rDNA-ITS片段测序结果结合菌株的形态学观察和培养性状鉴定定殖游离卵、卵块和雌虫上的真菌。根据分离到菌株的培养性状、形态学和rDNA-ITS序列分析,对定殖于南方根结线虫或北方根结线虫的9 839个游离卵、408个卵块和284个雌虫的真菌菌株,明确鉴定出9属13个种,其中定殖根结线虫新记录种5个,即长梗木霉、芬芳镰刀菌、渐狭蜡蚧菌、虫草棒束孢和交枝顶孢。淡紫紫孢菌Purpureocillium lilacinum(原名:淡紫拟青霉)为优势种,分布广泛,在云南、安徽、湖北、贵州和山东省均被分离到。该菌在南方根结线虫和北方根结线虫的游离卵、卵块和雌虫平均分离率分别为0.49%、24.00%和16.90%,说明其地理和生态适应性广泛。不同地区来源的烟草根结线虫卵和雌虫上定殖的机会真菌种类存在明显差异。目前尚无渐狭蜡蚧菌和虫草棒束孢作为线虫病原物的报道,有待于进一步深入研究其对根结线虫的致病性。  相似文献

Data on 228 accessions of eight annual wild Cicer species and 20 cultivated chickpea check lines were evaluated for diversity in response to six of the most serious biotic and abiotic stresses which reduce crop yield and production stability of chickpea, i.e., ascochyta blight, fusarium wilt, leaf miner, bruchid, cyst nematode, and cold. Relative frequencies of score reactions to the above six stresses were recorded from all the annual wild Cicer species and the cultivated taxon. Patterns of distribution and amount of variation of the resistance reactions differed between stresses and species. C. bijugum, C. pinnatifidum and C. echinospermum showed accessions with at least one source of resistance (1 to 4 score reactions) to each stress. Overall, C. bijugum showed the highest frequencies of the highest categories of resistance. Next in performance was C. pinnatifidum followed by C. judaicum, C. reticulatum and C. echinospermum. Furthermore, C. bijugum had the highest number of accessions with multiple resistance to the six stresses; two accessions were resistant to five stresses and 16 to four. According to the Shannon-Weaver diversity indices (H), five species showed discrete mean diversity indices which varied from 0.649 in C. pinnatifidum to 0.526 in C. judaicum, whereas C. chorassanicum, C. cuneatum and C. yamashitae showed the lowest Hs, which were respectively 0.119, 0.174 and 0.216. Pair-wise correlations among the six biotic and abiotic stresses showed the possibility of combining these resistances. Interestingly, multiple resistant accessions were predominantly of Turkish origin.  相似文献

Summary A collection of 400 Ae. tauschii (syn. Ae. squarrosa) Coss. accessions were screened for powdery mildew resistance based on the response patterns of 13 wheat cultivars/lines possessing major resistance genes to nine differential mildew isolates. 106 accessions showed complete resistance to all isolates, and 174 accessions revealed isolate-specific resistance, among which were 40 accessions exhibiting an identical response pattern as wheat cultivar Ulka/*8Cc which is known to possess resistance gene Pm2. Expression of both complete and isolate-specific resistance from Ae. tauschii was observed in some synthetic hexaploid wheats derived from four mildew susceptible T. durum Desf. parents, each crossed with five to 38 resistant diploid Ae. tauschii accessions. Synthetic amphiploids involving different combinations of T. durum and Ae. tauschii generally showed a decrease in resistance compared with that expressed by the Ae. tauschii parental lines.  相似文献

A collection of 164 Aegilops tauschii accessions, obtained from Gatersleben, Germany, was screened for reaction to leaf rust under controlled greenhouse conditions. We have also evaluated a selection of synthetic hexaploid wheats, produced by hybridizing Ae. tauschii with tetraploid durum wheats, as well as the first and second generation of hybrids between some of these resistant synthetic hexaploid wheats and susceptible Triticum aestivum cultivars. Eighteen (11%) accessions of Ae. tauschii were resistant to leaf rust among which 1 was immune, 13 were highly resistant and 4 were moderately resistant. Six of the synthetic hexaploid wheats expressed a high level of leaf rust resistance while four exhibited either a reduced or complete susceptibility compared to their corresponding diploid parent. This suppression of resistance at the hexaploid level suggests the presence of suppressor genes in the A and/or B genomes of the T. turgidum parent. Inheritance of leaf rust resistance from the intercrosses with susceptible bread wheats revealed that resistance was dominant over susceptibility. Leaf rust resistance from the three synthetics (syn 101, syn 701 and syn 901) was effectively transmitted as a single dominant gene and one synthetic (syn 301) possessed two different dominant genes for resistance.  相似文献

The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica (Treub) Chitwood is an important parasite of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). Four chickpea genotypes were evaluated for tolerance to M. javanica in naturally infested fields at three locations. Each genotype was evaluated for number of galls, gall size, root area covered with galls and number of egg masses produced. All the cultivars were susceptible or highly susceptible. Seed yield, weight of 100 undamaged seeds, total dry matter and plant height were compared with checks. Chickpea cultivar Annigeri and a local check were used as nematode susceptible checks in all locations. The four promising nematode tolerant genotypes produced significantly greater yield and total dry matter than the checks in fields naturally infested with M. javanica at three locations. These M. javanica tolerant lines represent new germplasm and they are available in the chickpea genebank at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) bearing the identification numbers ICC 8932, ICC 11152, ICCV 90043 and ICCC 42.  相似文献

Summary A total of 384 Cucurbita pepo and Cucurbita maxima accessions were evaluated in growth chambers or glasshouse tests for resistance to cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Seedlings were mechanically inoculated at the cotyledon stage, and scored for symptoms on cotyledons and true leaves 7 and 18 days after inoculation. Significant variation in resistance was found. A limited number of accessions were free of visual symptoms of infection. One C. pepo accession and thirteen C. maxima accessions showed a high level of resistance. Generally, C. maxima may be considered more resistant to CMV compared to C. pepo. There is no close relationship between origin, fruit morphotypes and CMV resistance in either species. Some accessions (e.g., C. pepo PI 438699; C. maxima PI 176530, PI 265555, PI 368564, PI 500483) could be useful for the future breeding programmes. 连作番茄根区病土对番茄生长及土壤线虫与微生物的影响   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
探索连作番茄根区病土对番茄根结线虫病的诱导效果及引起连作障碍的微生态机制,可为深入了解番茄连作障碍发生机理及探究番茄连作障碍防治方法提供科学依据。本研究利用盆栽试验,测定了番茄在健康土壤及接种病土土壤中生物学特性变化及根结线虫侵染状况,并分析鉴定了土壤中微生物及线虫的种类与数量。结果表明,接种连作番茄根结线虫病株根区病土会对番茄生长及根结线虫侵染产生影响:1)番茄苗期根系根结数达9个?株~(-1),健康土壤无根结;土壤线虫数量较健康土壤增加390.4%;收获期番茄根结线虫侵染率达62.7%,病情指数为80.0%。2)番茄生长受到抑制,叶片防御酶活性降低,收获期茎叶及根系鲜质量较健康土壤分别减少50.2%及33.1%,苗期番茄叶片PPO活性较健康土壤降低15.8%,POD活性较健康土壤增加24.0%,差异均达显著水平(P0.05)。3)番茄根系更易感染有害菌,根系内病原菌甘蓝假单胞菌数量较健康土壤增加463倍,根区土壤细菌、真菌及放线菌总数分别增加46.3%、94.5%及134.0%。4)食细菌线虫、食真菌线虫及植物寄生性线虫数量分别为健康根区土壤的3.3倍、1.6倍及7.3倍,其中的植物寄生线虫95.6%为根结线虫。综上所述,接入连作番茄根结线虫病株根区病土不仅导致番茄遭受根结线虫侵染,而且会导致土壤线虫总量及植物寄生线虫所占比例大幅增加,并使番茄根系内有害细菌数量显著增加,对番茄生长造成显著抑制作用,同时影响番茄的生理生化特性,受线虫侵染番茄防御性酶活性降低,使其更易被根结线虫及病原菌侵染,番茄根区土壤线虫、微生物及根系内优势细菌的种类与数量及其之间的作用发生改变。  相似文献

土壤线虫和微生物群落结构与作物健康密切相关。采用田间试验,利用传统分类和高通量测序技术,研究了水稻–番茄轮作(FS)、番茄连作(FF)和休耕(CK)3种种植制度土壤线虫及微生物群落结构差异。结果表明,水旱轮作土壤中线虫种类少,自由生活线虫占比高。土壤中植物寄生线虫属的检出率,轮作最少,仅有5个,连作最多,共13个,且大部分为常见属;水旱轮作同时能降低土壤中植物寄生线虫的种类,包括主要危害番茄的根结线虫属,占比仅2.1%,而连作为29.7%。不同种植制度下真菌和细菌类群OUTs和群落结构差异明显;与连作相比,轮作和休耕真菌、细菌种群丰富度更高,共享占比更多,群落构成更相近;水旱轮作Alpha多样性指数显著高于连作;轮作土壤中植物寄生线虫拮抗微生物类群Chaetomium,Talaromyces,Anaerolineaceae和Acidobacteria相对丰度高于连作。水稻–番茄轮作能大幅减少植物寄生线虫种类,增加微生物群落多样性,改善土壤质量,是番茄生产中防控线虫病害的理想措施。  相似文献
