BACKGROUND: The potato psyllid, Bactericera cockerelli, is a vector of Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum, causing several diseases in solanaceous crops. Laboratory and field no‐choice and choice experiments were conducted to evaluate the repellency of kaolin particle film on adults of B. cockerelli on tomato plants that had been sprayed with kaolin particle film on the upper surface only, on the lower surface only and on both leaf surfaces. RESULTS: In no‐choice tests in the laboratory, the numbers of adults on leaves were not different between the kaolin particle film and the water control, regardless of which leaf surface(s) were treated, but numbers of eggs were lower on the leaves treated with kaolin particle film than on those treated with water. In choice tests on plants treated with water/plants treated with kaolin particle film at ratios of 1:1, 6:3 or 8:1, fewer adults and eggs were found on the leaves treated with kaolin particle film than on leaves treated with water. Under field conditions, in caged no‐choice or choice tests, fewer adults, eggs and nymphs were found on plants treated with kaolin particle film than on plants treated with water. In an uncaged test under field conditions, plants sprayed with kaolin particle film had fewer psyllids than those sprayed with water. CONCLUSION: Even though potato psyllid adults could land on plants treated with kaolin particle film when no choice was given, fewer eggs were laid. When given a choice, the psyllids avoided plants treated with kaolin particle film under laboratory and field conditions. A laboratory study conducted in 2003 determined the influence of a kaolin-based particle film (Surround WP Crop Protectant) on spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana (Clem)) oviposition. Three concentrations (15, 30 and 60 g litre(-1) spray carrier) were applied to white spruce (Picea glauca (Moench) Voss). When presented with different paired choices of oviposition surfaces, spruce budworms laid very few egg masses overall and showed no significant (P < 0.05) preference between kaolin-coated and untreated foliage. During no-choice tests, spruce budworms were significantly (P < 0.05) less inclined to oviposit on the 60 g kaolin litre(-1) treated foliage than on the controls, but no kaolin treatment completely inhibited spruce budworm oviposition. Egg mass size and percentage hatch were unaffected by the kaolin treatments, and overall the percentage of egg masses laid on foliage was inversely proportional to treatment concentration. It is unlikely that kaolin-based particle film would be practical for wide use in natural forests without significant adaptations to current pesticide application equipment and methods. 室内测定了氰戊菊酯残留对菜蛾绒茧蜂成虫的致死和亚致死效应。结果发现,氰戊菊酯对菜蛾绒茧蜂成虫的毒力比对小菜蛾2龄幼虫的高10倍以上,因此可以肯定田间施用氰戊菊酯后,可以直接(喷雾)或间接(残留)杀死部分菜蛾绒茧蜂成虫。小菜蛾2龄幼虫LC_(50)剂量的氰戊菊酯残留显著降低了雌蜂的产卵量和供试小菜蛾幼虫的被寄生率,在氰戊菊酯残留存在的情况下,雌蜂的死亡率高于雄蜂,蜂子代存活率及性比显著低于对照。氰戊菊酯残留对菜蛾绒茧蜂的搜索行为也有显著的影响,雌蜂在叶片上停留的时间及用于搜索的时间均高于对照,表明残留对菜蛾绒茧蜂雌蜂的搜寻有刺激作用,但产卵寄生的发生次数与对照间无显著差异。文中对产生上述结果的原因进行了讨论。  相似文献

探讨亚致死剂量氯虫苯甲酰胺对小菜蛾3龄幼虫的亚致死效应,为氯虫苯甲酰胺的合理使用提供依据。采用叶片药膜法测定亚致死剂量氯虫苯甲酰胺对小菜蛾3龄幼虫生物学特性的影响。结果表明:与对照相比,亚致死浓度的氯虫苯甲酰胺处理后,小菜蛾4龄龄期和蛹期明显延长,化蛹率、羽化率、单雌产卵量明显降低。另外蛹重也明显低于对照。这表明亚致死剂量氯虫苯甲酰胺对小菜蛾种群增长有一定抑制作用,对小菜蛾综合防治策略的制定有积极意义。  相似文献

通过室内饲养和生化测定,研究了甜菜、玉米和黄瓜3种寄主植物的营养物质及其对甜菜夜蛾幼虫发育、成虫产卵及5龄幼虫体内蛋白质和总氨基酸含量、淀粉酶和脂肪酶活力的影响.结果表明:与取食玉米和黄瓜的个体相比,取食甜菜的甜菜夜蛾,其幼虫期和蛹期较短,分别为11.4天和5.6天;蛹期存活率最高,达100%;成虫寿命较长,为26.3天;单雌产卵量最高,为301.8粒.取食3种寄主植物,甜菜夜蛾5龄幼虫体内的蛋白质含量无差异,但总氨基酸含量差异显著,此外,幼虫体内淀粉酶和脂肪酶活力也存在显著差异,取食甜菜的个体>取食玉米的个体>取食黄瓜的个体.取食不同寄主植物,甜菜夜蛾幼虫的消化酶和脂肪酶活力与其发育适合度呈正相关.  相似文献

为跟踪分离苍耳的活性成分,对苍耳叶和果实的甲醇提取物进行了液-液萃取分离,测试各萃取分离物对小菜蛾(Plutella xylostella)、菜青虫(Pieris rapae)和桃蚜(Myzus persicae)的拒食、忌避(或产卵忌避)活性以及对其化蛹和羽化的影响。结果显示,苍耳的乙酸乙酯分离物较之于甲醇水分离物具有更高的活性。在0.05 g/mL处理浓度下,苍耳叶乙酸乙酯分离物对菜青虫和小菜蛾幼虫选择性拒食率高达100%和44.13%,对菜青虫非选择性拒食率为94%,对小菜蛾的选择性产卵忌避率都在50%以上,对桃蚜的选择性忌避率高于70%;同时,苍耳果实乙酸乙酯分离物处理叶片后,菜青虫幼虫无一化蛹,小菜蛾高龄幼虫发育为成虫的比率仅为对照的13.80%。以上结果提示,苍耳的有效活性成分主要存在于乙酸乙酯分离相中,对菜青虫的作用效果好于小菜蛾。  相似文献

ABSTRACT The effect of Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) infection on plant attractiveness for the western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis) was studied. Significantly more thrips were recovered on infected than were recovered on noninfected pepper (Capsicum annuum) plants in different preference tests. In addition, more offspring were produced on the virus-infected pepper plants, and this effect also was found for TSWV-infected Datura stramonium. Thrips behavior was minimally influenced by TSWV-infection of host plants with only a slight preference for feeding on infected plants. Offspring development was positively affected since larvae hatched earlier from eggs and subsequently pupated faster on TSWV-infected plants. These results show a mutualistic relationship between F. occidentalis and TSWV.  相似文献

测试了欧洲山芥对小菜蛾个体发育和成虫繁殖力的影响,以及小菜蛾雌蛾经历不同植物后对其产卵选择性的影响。结果表明,在欧洲山芥开花结籽期植株上取食发育至化蛹的少量个体,与白菜、结球甘蓝上取食发育的个体相比,身体较小,繁殖力较低;欧洲山芥具有刺激小菜蛾成虫增加生殖力的作用,对甘蓝上发育出来的雌成虫,当分别提供欧洲山芥或结球甘蓝让其产卵时,在两种植物上平均每雌产卵量分别为267粒和139粒;经历不能明显改变小菜蛾雌成虫对欧洲山芥的强烈嗜好性,当小菜蛾在成虫期经历白菜或甘蓝后.对这两种植物的相对嗜好性虽有所提高,但仍将绝大部分或所有的卵产在欧洲山芥上。可见,欧洲山芥对于小菜蛾是一种较为理想的诱杀植物。  相似文献

采用室内非选择性试验和皿内饲料吸引选择试验测定了二点委夜蛾对不同植物的产卵选择和取食性的差异。结果表明,二点委夜蛾成虫在不同寄主植物上的产卵选择顺序为小麦(麦茬麦苗)大豆棉花玉米;成虫在同一寄主植物上不同部位的产卵率有一定的差异,小麦和玉米下层产卵率高于上层和中层,而大豆和棉花上层产卵率显著高于中、下层。二点委夜蛾初孵幼虫对寄主植物取食选择顺序为:甘薯棉花大豆马齿苋马唐花生玉米小麦,而叶片取食比例由大到小依次为甘薯马唐花生棉花大豆小麦马齿苋玉米。二点委夜蛾对不同寄主植物的产卵选择性显著不同,对寄主植物的产卵选择性和幼虫取食选择性并不一致。  相似文献

作者研究了不同层次甘蓝叶片对四种鳞翅目幼虫(菜粉蝶、小菜蛾、甜菜夜蛾和斜纹夜蛾)生长发育和取食特性的影响。随着叶片成熟度提高(内层→外层),四种幼虫的存活率和生物量积累均逐渐下降,发育历期和总取食量均逐渐增加,但在低、高龄幼虫之间存在一定差异。在田间,低龄幼虫株内分布通常与其卵的株内分布相一致,而高龄幼虫均集中分布在植株中部以内叶片上;甜菜夜蛾和斜纹夜蛾低龄幼虫表现明显的趋边性,高龄幼虫却表现明显的趋中性。作者讨论了叶片营养状况、害虫自身的生物学特性和其它环境因素对四种幼虫田间株内分布的综合影响。  相似文献

The toxicities of five pesticides commonly used in vegetable fields to the larvae of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L) and its two major parasitoids, Cotesia plutellae (Kurdjumov) and Oomyzus sokolowskii (Kurdjumov), were evaluated in the laboratory using several bioassays. When tested at the rates recommended for field application by the manufacturer, fipronil, avermectin and chlorfluazuron produced over 95% mortality on third-instar larvae of P xylostella, but fenvalerate and methomyl did not produce any substantial mortality to such larvae, and over 70% of P xylostella larvae could still pupate normally after feeding on cabbage leaf treated with the two pesticides. In a residual contact assay with adult parasitoids, fipronil and methomyl caused over 93% mortality within 24 h; fenvalerate killed approximately 55% of the adults within 24 h; avermectin and chlorfluazuron showed differential toxicity to the two parasitoids. Avermectin was extremely harmful to O sokolowskii but slightly toxic to C plutellae, while chlorfluazuron was more toxic to C plutellae than to O sokolowskii. In the residue assay with cocoons of C plutellae and pupae of O sokolowskii developed within P xylostella pupae, treatments with pesticides did not reduce adult emergence. However, the mortality of C plutellae adults emerged from the fipronil-treated cocoons increased greatly within 24 h post-emergence; adults from the fenvalerate-treated cocoons parasitized less host larvae. Treatments with fenvalerate and methomyl significantly increased the mortality of O sokolowskii adults within 24 h post-emergence. Recommendations of choosing pesticides for the control of P xylostella are given.  相似文献

研究了二化螟在茭白植株上的转移、钻蛀和产卵行为以及取食选择性,并根据其行为特性,制订合理的药剂喷施方法.结果表明,二化螟90%以上的卵产在茭白的叶片上,其余部分产在叶鞘上.产卵的主要叶位是心叶、倒一叶和倒二叶.超过50%的卵块集中在叶片距叶枕0~60cm的部位.幼虫孵化后,蚁螟蛀入的部位一般在叶枕以下的叶鞘内侧,多集中于倒四、倒五叶鞘.2龄后开始钻蛀内侧叶鞘,并蛀入茭白茎的内芯,二化螟幼虫在茭白植株上通常从叶片转移到叶鞘进行钻蛀危害.幼虫嗜食茭白茎部,其次为茭白果肉和叶鞘,对叶片几乎不取食.使用叶鞘喷施杀虫可达到对茭白进行全株喷雾同样的防治效果,并可节省40%~50%的用药量,经济和生态效益十分明显.  相似文献

BACKGROUND

Helicoverpa armigera is a major pest of pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan). Efforts to develop pigeonpea varieties resistant to H. armigera attack have been met with limited success, despite reports of high levels of resistance to H. armigera in wild relatives of pigeonpea and reports of low to moderate levels of resistance in cultivated varieties. Here we examined H. armigera oviposition preference and larval performance on whole plants of three cultivars of short-duration pigeonpea: a susceptible control (ICPL 87) and two cultivars with purported host–plant resistance (ICPL 86012 and ICPL 88039).

RESULTS

In our no-choice oviposition experiment, H. armigera laid similar numbers of eggs on all three cultivars tested, but under choice conditions moths laid slightly more eggs on ICPL 88039. Larval growth and development were affected by cultivar, and larvae grew to the largest size (weight) and developed fastest on ICPL 86012. Moths laid most of their eggs on floral structures, sites where subsequent early instar larvae overwhelmingly fed. Experimentally placing neonate larvae at different locations on plants demonstrated that larvae placed on flowers experienced greater survival, faster development, and greater weight gain than those placed on leaves. The type and density of trichomes (a potential resistance trait) differed among cultivars and plant structures, but larvae selected to feed at sites where trichomes were absent.

CONCLUSION

Future work examining host–plant resistance against H. armigera should incorporate the behavioural preference of moths and larvae in experiments using whole plants as opposed to bioassays of excised plant parts in Petri dishes. © 2022 The Authors. 明确草地贪夜蛾的寄主偏好性有利于更好地掌握其田间种群发生动态,指导农业防控。本文分别以玉米、小麦及其田间常见的禾本科杂草为测试对象,研究草地贪夜蛾成虫、幼虫对嗜食寄主及禾本科杂草的选择性和初孵幼虫取食不同植物的存活率。结果表明:草地贪夜蛾成虫产卵具有明显的选择性,在玉米上日均产卵量为(315.59±49.87)粒,占在所有供试植物上总产卵数量的71.17%,显著高于其在玉米田禾本科杂草上的日均产卵量,其在玉米田不同种类杂草上的产卵量差异不显著。草地贪夜蛾成虫在小麦上的日均产卵量为(243.40±18.24)粒,占所有供试植物上总产卵数量的46.98%,且显著高于在麦田禾本科杂草上的产卵量。1~2龄幼虫对玉米和马唐的取食选择率无显著差异,但显著高于玉米田其他杂草;1~3龄幼虫对小麦和节节麦的取食选择率无显著差异,但显著高于麦田其他杂草;对供试杂草的取食选择率随龄期增高逐渐降低,对玉米和小麦的选择性随龄期增加而增强;草地贪夜蛾1龄幼虫在玉米及玉米田禾本科杂草上的存活率无显著差异,最低为95.89%;在小麦及麦田禾本科杂草上,以雀麦上的成活率最低,为85.22%,显著低于小麦和其他禾本科杂草。  相似文献

The predator Podisus nigrispinus (Dallas) (Heteroptera: Pentatomidae) has been used as a natural enemy to control herbivorous insects in eucalyptus plantations. However, because of the short co-evolutionary history of the predator with this imported plant species, the defensive compounds of eucalyptus may have a negative effect on the predator. Therefore, the survival and development of P. nigrispinus were studied on eucalyptus (Eucalyptus urophylla; exotic host plant) and guava (Psidium guajava; native host plant). P. nigrispinus performance was indeed superior on guava plants than on eucalyptus. The number of fertile eggs and nymphal survival were 52.6% and 12.0% on guava compared with 20.0% and 1.3% on eucalyptus, respectively. Longevity of P. nigrispinus was 115 days on guava and 98 days on eucalyptus. This shows that the predator is not yet fully adapted to the exotic host plant. One possible reason is that the plant toxic compounds in eucalyptus act on this predator by antibiosis.  相似文献

The residual toxicity of two selective insecticides, teflubenzuron (acylurea) and Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner ssp. aizawai (microbial), to laboratory and field strains of Plutella xylostella L. was shown in the laboratory to be significantly affected by leaf nutritional status, other host-plant resistance factors, cultivation method and plant age. With plants offering some degree of host-plant resistance, the toxicity of the insecticides was either increased or decreased compared with highly susceptible plants, depending on the specific nature of the plant-herbivore interaction. Differences in residual toxicity of the insecticides varied up to nine-fold on different host plants (=host-plant- + insecticide-induced mortality) despite less than four-fold differences in P. xylostella mortality in controls (=host-plant-induced mortality alone). Host-plant nutritional status also had a substantial effect on the damage potential of larvae. Different response times by P. xylostella to the two insecticides tested on host plants of varying nutritional status were related to the contrasting modes of action of the respective active ingredients. The present studies suggest that insecticides applied to Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata with partial plant resistance may contribute to improved control of P. xylostella. A conceptual model is used to describe likely mortality responses by macrophagous larvae to insecticides applied to plants of varying resistance status. The implications of the findings in relation to the integrated management of P. xylostella are considered.  相似文献

为了研究不同寄主上大草蛉Chrysopa pallens(Rambur)幼虫对烟粉虱Bemisia tabaci(Gennadius)卵的捕食功能反应与搜寻效应,在室内条件下评估了大草蛉捕食功能反应模型,并研究了大草蛉3龄幼虫对棉花、烟草和辣椒上烟粉虱卵的搜寻效应和控害潜能。结果显示,在3种寄主植物上大草蛉3龄幼虫捕食量均随猎物密度的增加而升高,在烟草、棉花、辣椒上的捕食量分别为7.6~28.4、5.4~23.2、6.0~18.8粒;3种寄主植物上的大草蛉捕食功能反应均拟合Holling II、III功能反应模型;在烟草上大草蛉的瞬间攻击率最大,为0.470,处理时间最短,为0.021;在3种寄主植物上大草蛉3龄幼虫搜寻效应均随猎物密度的增加而下降,当猎物密度相同时,在烟草上的搜寻效应高于棉花和辣椒。研究表明,不同寄主植物能够影响大草蛉3龄幼虫对烟粉虱卵的瞬间攻击率及其搜寻效应。  相似文献

Previous work had shown that the sulfonylurea herbicide chlorsulfuron affected the survival of a herbivorous insect species dwelling on a sub-lethally exposed host plant. Further experiments have been conducted to establish whether this negative effect was a single occurrence characteristics for the specific insect-plant interaction and the specific herbicide tested. Three insect-plant interactions were tested for the effects of selected sulfonylurea herbicides, i.e. metsulfuron-methyl, chlorsulfuron and tribenuron-methyl. The species pairs tested were Pieris brassicae/Brassica napus, Gastrophysa polygoni/Fallopia convolvulus and Sitobium avenae/Triticum aestivium. No significant effects on survival and relative growth rate of P brassicae or G polygoni were found when treating the host plants with sulfonylurea herbicides. However, the host plants had a significantly reduced root and shoot growth rate when treated with herbicide. Treating T aestivium with the recommended field rate of metasulfuron-methyl did not cause any change in development time, growth rate or fecundity of S avenae feeding on the host plants. The data presented suggest that the increased mortality observed for G polygoni larvae feeding on chlorsulfuron-treated host plants observed earlier was characteristic for this herbicide and for the specific plant-insect interaction only.  相似文献

研究了菜蛾盘绒茧蜂的主要寄生因子(多DNA病毒、毒液和畸形细胞)对寄主小菜蛾生长和发育的影响.通过利用结合假寄生和过寄生方法,证明寄生蜂寄生因子对寄主生长和发育有明显影响.结果显示,假寄生初期,寄主体重降低;但到后期,当未寄生寄主正常化蛹后,假寄生寄主继续取食、发育,寄主末龄幼虫期显著延长,不能化蛹,成为超重幼虫,最大体重可达10.52mg.正常寄生后,寄主的发育与未寄生寄主相比,始终处于抑制状态.过寄生对寄主生长、发育的抑制程度加剧.研究结果表明,假寄生与正常寄生后寄主的生长和发育有明显差异,这种差异的部分原因可能是由畸形细胞引起的.  相似文献
