Ethoxyquin (EQ) is the most common synthetic antioxidant used for preventing rancidity in fish foodstuffs. However, literature related to the effects of dietary EQ on performance of fish was limited. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of EQ on performance and EQ residue in muscle of juvenile Japanese seabass Lateolabrax japonicus and to estimate the optimal EQ concentration in the diet. Graded levels [0 (control), 50, 150, 450 and 1350 mg EQ kg?1 diet] of EQ were added to the basal diet, resulting in five dietary treatments in the experiment. Each diet was fed to triplicate groups of seabass (initial body weight 8.01 ± 0.76 g) for 12 weeks in floating sea cages (1.5 × 1.5 × 2.0 m, 30 fish per cage). Survival ranged from 78.9 to 86.7%, and was irrespective of dietary EQ levels. The specific growth rate (SGR) of fish fed diets supplemented with ≤50 mg kg?1 EQ had significantly (< 0.05) higher SGR than fish fed diets supplemented with ≥150 mg kg?1 EQ, the highest SGR was observed in fish fed diet with 50 mg kg?1 EQ supplementation. Feed intake (FI) and feed efficiency (FE) were not significantly (> 0.05) different among dietary treatments. Fish fed diets with 50 and 1350 mg kg?1 EQ had a significant (< 0.05) lower body lipid content than fish in the control group. Muscle EQ level significantly increased when dietary EQ increased. Optimal EQ concentration estimated by polynomial regression based on maximum growth of juvenile Japanese seabass was 13.78 mg kg?1 diet.  相似文献

The immunostimulatory role of carotenoid extract from shrimp processing discards was evaluated by feeding common carp fingerlings with a diet containing carotenoid extract for 21 weeks at 100 and 200 mg kg?1 astaxanthin levels. Haemoglobin content was significantly (P < 0.05) higher in the blood of fish fed with carotenoid diet (>8.1 g dL?1) compared with that from fish fed with carotenoid deficient diet (6.86 g dL?1) and also leukocyte counts were higher (P < 0.05). No differences (P > 0.05) were observed in total serum protein, globulin level and albumin‐globulin ratio, but albumin content was higher (P < 0.05). Respiratory burst activity was significantly (P < 0.05) higher, the serum lysozyme activity almost doubled and the serum bactericidal activity was significantly increased when the fish were fed with diet containing 200 mg kg?1 of astaxanthin but no significant differences were observed in serum trypsin inhibitory activity. There was a significant (P < 0.05) increase in leukocyte myeloperoxidase activity due to dietary carotenoids. Challenging fish with Aeromonas hydrophila after the feeding period resulted in 50% mortality in the control group while in the group fed with diet containing 100 mg kg?1 astaxanthin, the mortality rate was 15%. No mortality and even symptoms of infection was not observed in the group fed with diet containing 200 mg kg?1 of astaxanthin. The study indicated that carotenoid extract from shrimp processing discards can effectively be used as immunostimulants in aquaculture of carps and dietary carotenoids were found to enhance various immune defence mechanisms and also provide protection against the infection of pathogen A. hydrophila.  相似文献

A 17‐week feeding trial was carried out to evaluate the effects of dietary L‐carnitine level in beluga, Huso huso. A total of fish averaging 1247 ± 15.6 g (mean ± SD) were randomly distributed into 18 fibreglass tanks, and each tank holding 10 fish was then randomly assigned to one of three replicates of six diets with 50, 150, 350, 650, 950 and 1250 mg L‐carnitine kg?1 diet. At the end of 17 weeks of feeding trial, average weight gain (WG), feed efficiency (FE), protein efficiency ratio (PER) and condition factor (CF) of fish fed 350 mg kg?1 diet were significantly (P < 0.05) higher than those of fish fed 50, 150, 950 and 1250 mg kg?1 diets. WG, FE, PER and CF of beluga fed 650 mg kg?1 diet were also significantly higher than those of fish fed 50, 950 and 1250 mg kg?1 diets. Whole body and muscle protein were significantly improved by the elevation of dietary L‐carnitine level up to 350 mg kg?1. Liver superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities of fish fed 350 and 650 mg kg?1 diets were significantly higher than those of fish fed 50, 950 and 1250 mg kg?1 diets. The dietary L‐carnitine level of 350–650 mg kg?1 diet could improve growth performance, feed utilization, protein‐sparing effects of lipid, antioxidant defence system and reproductive success. Polynomial regression of WG suggested that the optimum dietary L‐carnitine level was 480 mg kg?1 diet. Therefore, these results may indicate that the optimum dietary L‐carnitine could be higher than 350 but <650 mg kg?1 diet in beluga reared in intensive culture conditions.  相似文献

An 8‐week‐feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary chitosan oligosaccharide complex with rare earth (COS‐REE) on growth performance and innate immune response of turbot, Scophthalmus maximus L. (Initial average weight was (12.1 ± 0.1) g) as well as disease resistance against Edwardsiella tarda. Six practical diets (approximately 53.01% protein and 12.57% lipid) were formulated to contain graded levels (0, 75, 150, 300, 600 and 1200 mg kg?1) of COS‐REE. Results of the present study showed that, compared to the control group (0 mg kg?1), the specific growth rate (SGR) was significantly higher in fish fed the diet with 300 mg kg?1 COS‐REE (< 0.05), while the feed conversion ratio (FCR) significantly decreased (< 0.05). The phagocytic index (PI) and the activity of super oxide dismutase (SOD) of serum in fish fed the diet with 300 mg kg?1 COS‐REE was significantly higher than fish fed the control diet (< 0.05), but no significant differences were observed in malondialdehyde (MDA) and hepatic metallothionein (MT) concentrations. After 8 weeks, fish were challenged by intraperitoneal injection with E. tarda, and COS‐REE‐treated fish demonstrated increased protection capability. These results suggested that COS‐REE could enhance growth, innate immunity and disease resistance in turbot, and the optimum dose was approximately 300 mg kg?1.  相似文献

This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary choline supplementation on growth, lipid deposition and intestinal enzyme activities of Megalobrama amblycephala. Fish were fed four diets with two lipid levels (50 and 150 g kg?1) and two choline supplementations (600 and 1600 mg kg?1) for 8 weeks. Feed conversion ratio (FCR), viscerosomatic index (VSI), hepatosomatic index (HSI), intraperitoneal fat (IPF) ratio, whole‐body and muscle lipid contents, intestinal lipase activities and lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activities all increased significantly (< 0.05) as lipid levels increased, whereas the opposite was true for whole‐body and muscle moisture contents and intestinal amylase activities. VSI, IPF ratio and whole‐body lipid contents all decreased significantly (< 0.05) with increasing dietary choline supplementations. Weight gain, muscle moisture content all increased significantly (< 0.05) with increasing dietary choline supplementations when dietary lipid levels reached 150 g kg?1, whereas the opposite was true for FCR, IPF ratio, IPF and liver LPL activities. In addition, abnormal hepatocytes were found in the liver of fish fed 150 g kg?1 lipid with 600 mg kg?1 choline supplementation. The result of this study indicated that extra choline supplementation can improve growth performance, intestinal enzymes activities and reduce excessive lipid deposition of M. amblycephala fed high lipid.  相似文献

The influence of α-tocopheryl acetate (α-TOAc) on plasma concentration and fillet deposition of dietary astaxanthin was investigated in Atlantic salmon Salmo salar L. The diets were added 30 or 50 mg kg–1 astaxanthin, and 200, 400 or 800 mg kg–1α-TOAc at each astaxanthin level. Improved flesh deposition of astaxanthin by 8–14% was achieved for fish fed diets with 30 and 50 mg kg–1 astaxanthin, respectively, by the dietary addition of 800 compared with 200 mg kg–1α-TOAc. These results were supported by CIE[1976]L*a*b* tristimulus redness measurements (a* value). Plasma astaxanthin concentration mirrored the muscle astaxanthin concentration in the groups of fish fed a diet containing 30 mg kg–1 astaxanthin. The salmon fed a high astaxanthin and low α-TOAc diet had the highest plasma concentration of idoxanthin (P < 0.05). Astaxanthin retention was significantly higher (P < 0.001) in salmon fed 30 mg kg–1 astaxanthin than in those fed 50 mg kg–1 astaxanthin, but was not significantly affected by dietary α-TOAc. Liver weight, body weight, specific growth rate, feed/gain ratio and mortalities were not affected by dietary α-TOAc levels. In conclusion, the dietary addition of α-TOAc appears to increase astaxanthin fillet deposition in salmonids and may reduce the demand for astaxanthin supplementation. A 12‐week growth trial was conducted in a flow‐through system to determine dietary selenium (Se) requirement for on‐growing gibel carp (initial body weight: 76.2 ± 0.05 g, mean ± SEM). Selenomethionine was supplemented to the basal diet to formulate seven semi‐purified diets containing 0.26, 0.58, 0.72, 1.14, 1.34, 1.73 and 2.09 mg Se kg?1 diet. The results showed that plasma superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity significantly increased when fish were fed with 0.58 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05) and then decreased at 2.09 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05). Plasma T‐AOC activity was higher in fish fed with 0.72 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05) and plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) was higher in fish fed with 0.26 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05). When fish were fed 1.14 mg Se kg?1 diet, hepatic GSH‐Px, T‐AOC, GSH and CAT activities were significantly higher than those fed with 0.26 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05). Hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity was higher at 1.34 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05). Fish liver Se concentrations were significantly higher when fed with 0.72 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05) and then kept constant when Se ≥ 0.72 mg kg?1 (> 0.05). Whole‐body and muscle Se concentrations were higher when fed with 1.34 mg Se kg?1 diet (< 0.05) and kept a plateau when Se ≥ 1.34 mg kg?1 (> 0.05). In conclusion, based on broken‐line regression of hepatic Se concentrations, hepatic SOD activity and hepatic T‐AOC activity, dietary Se requirements for on‐growing gibel carp was 0.73 mg kg?1, 1.12 mg kg?1 and 1.19 mg kg?1 diet respectively.  相似文献

To study the effects of manganese on growth performance, digestive and absorptive abilities, as well as the antioxidative capacity in the hepatopancreas and intestine, young grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus Val.) (264 ± 1 g) were fed diets containing graded levels of manganese at 3.65 (control), 8.62, 13.48, 18.24, 22.97 and 27.86 mg kg?1 diet for 8 weeks. Per cent weight gain (PWG) and feed intake were the poorest in fish fed the basal diet (< 0.05). The activities of trypsin, lipase and alkaline phosphatase in the intestine were significantly enhanced with dietary manganese level at 13.48 mg kg?1 diet (P < 0.05). Additionally, in the hepatopancreas and intestine, the protein carbonyl and malondialdehyde contents were the lowest in fish fed the diet with dietary manganese level at 13.48 mg kg?1 diet (< 0.05), while the anti‐hydroxyl radical capacities, manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), glutathione peroxidase and glutathione‐S‐transferase activities were significantly enhanced with dietary manganese level at 13.48 mg kg?1 diet (< 0.05). Moreover, the catalase activity and glutathione content in the intestine were the highest in fish fed the diet with dietary manganese level at 18.24 mg kg?1 diet (< 0.05). These results indicated that optimum dietary manganese promoted growth, enhanced the digestive and absorptive abilities, and improved the antioxidative capacity in young grass carp. Based on the quadratic regression analysis for PWG and intestinal MnSOD activity, the manganese requirements for young grass carp with the initial body weight of 264 g were 16.91 and 18.21 mg kg?1 diet respectively.  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of different levels of dietary vitamin C (VC) and E (VE) supplementation on fillet quality of red sea bream fed oxidized fish oil (OFO). Fish with an average body weight of 205.0 g were fed four test diets for 9 weeks. Control diet contained fresh fish oil (FFO) with 100 mg kg?1 of VE and 500 mg kg?1 of VC (FFO100E/500C). The other three diets contained OFO with varying levels of VE (mg kg?1) and VC (mg kg?1) (OFO100E/500C, OFO200E/500C and OFO200E/1000C). After feeding trial, two fillets from each fish by hand filleting were stored in a refrigerator at 4°C for 96 h during analyses. Results showed that fish fed OFO increased fillet thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and K‐value, and decreased fillet VC and VE concentrations during storage time. Supplementation of VC did not have any detectable effect on fillet quality. Increasing dietary VE supplementation increased fillet VE concentrations, reduced fillet TBARS and K‐value values of red sea bream. Therefore, we suggest that dietary supplementation of 200 mg kg?1 of vitamin E could improve fillet oxidative stability of red sea bream fed OFO.  相似文献

An 8‐week growth trial was conducted to determine the effect of dietary selenium (Se) level on growth performance, body composition and hepatic glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activities of largemouth bass. Sodium selenite was added to the fish meal basal diet at 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0 mg kg?1 Se providing 0.97, 1.17, 1.42, 1.60, 1.85 and 2.06 mg Se kg?1 diet respectively. Each diet was fed to triplicate groups of fish (initial mean body weight: 4.95 ± 0.03 g) in a closed indoor recirculating system. The Se concentration in the rearing water was not detectable during the whole experimental period. The highest weight gain was obtained in fish fed diets with 1.60 mg Se kg?1, which was significant higher (< 0.05) than the basal diet with 0.97 mg Se kg?1 and did not differ significantly (> 0.05) with the other treatments. Feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, protein productive value, apparent digestibility coefficients of dry matter and muscle composition were not significantly impacted (> 0.05) by dietary treatments. Fish fed diets with ≥1.42 mg Se kg?1 obtained higher liver lipid contents than treatments with lower dietary Se levels. Hepatic malondialdehyde (MDA) was unchanged (> 0.05) in relation to dietary Se concentration. Hepatic GPx and glutathione reductase (GR) activities markedly increased and decreased (< 0.05) with increasing dietary Se concentration, respectively, and both reached a plateau with ≥1.85 mg Se kg?1. Based on growth performance, hepatic MDA and enzymatic responses of GPx and GR, the highest Se concentration (2.06 mg kg?1) employed in our study was not harmful for largemouth bass, and the optimal dietary level should be 1.60–1.85 mg Se kg?1 from sodium selenite, at a dietary vitamin E level of 400 IU kg?1.  相似文献

The study was to evaluate the effects of dietary fish meal (FM) partially replaced by housefly maggot meal (HMM) on growth, fillet composition and physiological responses of juvenile barramundi, Lates calcarifera. HMM at 100, 150, 200 and 300 g kg?1 was supplemented in the basal diet to replace dietary FM protein. Basal diet without HMM supplementation was used as control. Total of five experimental diets were fed to triplicate groups of juvenile barramundi (initial weight: 9.66 ± 0.22 g) in a flow‐through rearing system for 8 weeks. Fish fed all experimental diets showed no effects (> 0.05) on weight gain and whole body protein, lipid and moisture content. Fish fed control diet and 100 g kg?1 HMM diet had the highest (< 0.05) hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, followed by 150 g kg?1 HMM group, the lowest in 200 and 200 g kg?1 HMM groups. Hepatic thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) value was the highest in fish fed 150–300 g kg?1 HMM diets, followed by 100 g kg?1 HMM group and the lowest in fish fed the control diet. Fish fed the 300 g kg?1 HMM diet had lower plasma lysozyme activity than fish fed other diets. The results indicated that up to 300 g kg?1 HMM can be used to substitute dietary FM protein without negative effect on growth. Although physiological responses were also considered, up to 100 g kg?1 HMM in barramundi diet was recommended.  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine the optimal dietary biotin requirement of juvenile Megalobrama amblycephala. Quadruple groups of fish (initial average weight 2.01 ± 0.01 g) were fed thrice daily with six isonitrogenous and isoenergetic purified diets containing 0 (basal diet), 0.015, 0.049, 0.158, 0.624 and 2.49 mg kg?1 biotin, respectively, for 8 weeks. Results showed that survival rate, final weight, feed intake, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and nitrogen retention efficiency all increased significantly (< 0.01) as dietary biotin levels increased from 0 to 0.049 mg kg?1, whereas the opposite was true for feed conversion ratio. Dressout percentage, condition factor, hepatosomatic index, viscera/body ratio all showed no significant difference (> 0.05) within the biotin range tested. Contrary to moisture content, whole‐body protein and lipid contents showed a positive correlation with dietary biotin levels. In addition, liver biotin content increased significantly (< 0.05) with increasing dietary biotin levels up to 0.624 mg kg?1. Hepatic pyruvate carboxylase (PC) and acetyl‐CoA carboxylase (ACC) activities both showed an increasing trend as dietary biotin levels increased. Based on the regression analysis of weight gain, hepatic PC and ACC activities, the optimal dietary biotin requirement of juvenile Megalobrama amblycephala is estimated to be 0.063, 0.071 and 0.075 mg kg?1, respectively.  相似文献

A 60‐day feeding trial was conducted to determine the effects of different dietary vitamin C levels on growth performance, immune response and antioxidant capacity of loach juveniles. Six isonitrogenous (58.6% of crude protein), isoenergetic (17.5 kJ g?1) practical diets supplemented with 0 (VC0), 100 (VC100), 200 (VC200), 500 (VC500), 1000 (VC1000) and 5000 mg kg?1 (VC5000) of VC (35% ascorbic acid equivalent) were fed to fish (mean initial weight 0.11 ± 0.02 g) in triplicate. Results showed that fish fed VC0 diet had significantly lower body weight gain (BWG) and survival rate (SR). However, BWG and SR improved significantly in fish fed VC100 and VC200 diet respectively. Whole body ascorbic acid concentration increased with incremental dietary VC levels from 0 to 100 mg kg?1. The activity of mucus alkaline phophatase was significantly increased by the dietary VC level. Incremental levels of VC significantly reduced activities of glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and catalase. Moreover, fish fed diets containing more than 100 mg kg?1 VC significantly down‐regulated the superoxide dismutase and GPx mRNA expression in liver. Meanwhile, the expressions of liver heat shock protein (HSP70) and nuclear factor‐erythroid 2‐related‐2 (Nrf2) were affected by fish fed diets containing VC from 100 to 5000 mg kg?1. In conclusion, VC requirement of loach juveniles for optimum growth and functionally preventing lipid peroxidation was more than 200 mg kg?1 of diet. Moreover, high dose of VC supplementation did not show any detrimental effects on loach growth performance.  相似文献

A growth trial lasting for 12 weeks was conducted in 21 net cages to determine the dietary potassium (K) requirement of subadult grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) (Average weight: 331.3 g). Seven isonitrogenous and isoenergetic semi‐purified diets were compounded with different dietary K level. The specific growth rate (SGR) of fish was significantly (< 0.05) improved by dietary K supplementation, SGR and the gill Na+‐K+ ATPase activity increased first and then decreased (< 0.05) as dietary K level increased. The highest SGR and gill Na+‐K+ ATPase activity values were both observed at 6.38 g kg?1 group. Dietary K level showed significant (< 0.05) effect on serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glucose (GLU), the maximum values of SOD and GLU were in 8.42 and 6.38 g kg?1 group, respectively. The body lipid content of the 6.38 g kg?1 group was significantly (< 0.05) lower than that of the control. However, the ash content in the 8.42 g kg?1 group was significantly higher than those in the 1.21, 2.21, 4.41 and 6.38 g kg?1 group. When dietary protein was 320 g kg?1 and the waterborne potassium ranged from 6.86 to 9.10 mg L?1, the dietary K requirement for subadult grass carp judged from SGR and gill Na+‐K+ ATPase activity is 5.38 and 7.41 g kg?1 diet, respectively.  相似文献

Rainbow trout (23.1 ± 0.4 g) were fed either a fishmeal‐ or plant‐based diet supplemented with various levels of zinc (0, 15, 30, 60 or 120 mg kg?1) for 12 weeks. Trout fed the fishmeal diet had significantly higher weight gain than with the plant‐based diet. Zinc supplementation in the fishmeal diet had no effect on growth performance, suggesting that additional dietary supplementation of zinc is not required. However, in trout fed the plant‐based diet, growth increased significantly up to 30 mg kg?1 zinc after which growth was not affected. Trout fed the plant‐based diet containing no zinc exhibited severe growth retardation, and in fish fed the 0 and 15 mg kg?1 zinc diets, cataracts were present. Use of broken‐line quadratic modelling suggests that dietary supplementation of zinc needed to prevent deficiency and promote adequate growth in rainbow trout fed the plant‐based diet in this study was 30.1 mg kg?1 (80 mg kg?1 total dietary zinc). This is higher than the NRC (2011, Nutrient Requirements of Fish and Shrimp) dietary recommended level of 15 mg kg?1 for rainbow trout. Following the NRC recommendation could lead to zinc deficiency in rainbow trout fed a plant‐based diet.  相似文献

This study evaluated the effects of diets containing 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 mg kg?1 diet astaxanthin or canthaxanthin on Pethia conchonius (Hamilton, 1822) pigmentation. A completely randomized experimental design was developed with ten treatments and three replicates. Three hundred rosy barb with a mean weight of 0.92 ± 0.06 g were assigned to thirty aquaria for period of eight weeks. Carotenoid contents of fish fed canthaxanthin were always lower than those fed astaxanthin. Yellowness (b*) was not affected by pigments. While Luminosity (L*) decreased in fish fed astaxanthin diets, this parameter increased by feeding on canthaxanthin. The most pronounced effect was higher a* values in fish fed astaxanthin. Astaxanthin retention rate was higher than that of canthaxanthin. The present results demonstrate that canthaxanthin cannot be considered as a proper replacement with astaxanthin. Inclusion of 80 and 100 mg astaxanthin kg?1 diet can be suitable dietary levels to ensure pigmentation and this condition may improve market value of rosy barb.  相似文献

This study investigated the effects of the co‐supplementation of vitamins C (0, 500, and 1000 mg kg?1) and E (0, 62.5, and 125 mg kg?1) on the growth performance, haematology and the modulation of blood stress indicators and immune parameters in hybrid catfish (Clarias macrocephalus × Clarias gariepinus) under combinations of thermal and acidic stress. Supplementation of vitamins C and E influenced the growth, haematological indices, serum chloride, plasma protein and immune parameters (lysozyme, total immunoglobulin and alternative complement haemolytic assay) (< 0.05). Although vitamins C and E did not prevent a significant reduction in serum chloride, they minimized not only the modulation of blood glucose and plasma protein, but also the reduction in immune parameters (< 0.05) owing to stress. Our results demonstrated that co‐supplementation of 500 mg kg?1 vitamin C and 125 mg kg?1 vitamin E, or 1000 mg kg?1 vitamin C alone, for four weeks and co‐supplementation of both vitamins at low levels (vitamins C at 500 mg kg?1 and E at 62.5 mg kg?1) for eight weeks had beneficial effects on the growth, amelioration of stress‐mediated adverse changes in the physiological and immunosuppressive responses of hybrid catfish under stressful conditions.  相似文献

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of different forms and levels of manganese (Mn) on the growth performance, antioxidant activities, tissue Mn content and cytosolic manganese superoxide dismutase (cMnSOD) gene expression of Litopenaeus vannamei. Treatments consisted of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 mg Mn kg?1 from manganese sulphate (Mn‐S) and manganese methionine (Mn‐Met), providing the actual dietary value of 5.17, 15.62, 25.55, 34.22, 44.48 and 67.90 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐S, and 5.17, 15.71, 25.36, 35.86, 45.16 and 65.06 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐Met, respectively. Each diet was fed to triplicate groups of L. vannamei (initial body weight: 1.925 ± 0.002 g) in a recirculated fresh water rearing system for 8 weeks. Weight gain rate (WGR) increased in prawns provided with from 25.55 to 44.48 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐S and 15.71 to 45.16 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐Met and then declined above these levels. The lowest protein efficiency ratio (PER) and the highest feed conversion rate (FCR) were observed in prawns fed the control diet (< 0.05) and showed no significant differences among other treatments (> 0.05). Survival rate (SR) was not affected by the dietary treatments (> 0.05). Total SOD and Mn‐SOD activities were higher in the hepatopancreas of prawns fed with Mn‐supplemented diets from 15.71 to 44.48 mg Mn kg?1 (< 0.05). On the contrary, malondialdehyde (MDA) content was lower in the hepatopancreas of prawns fed the basal diet (< 0.05). Mn concentrations in the hepatopancreas and muscles increased with increasing levels of dietary Mn supplementation. Moreover, Mn accumulation was lower in the muscle than in the hepatopancreas of the prawns. The mRNA expression of cMnSOD gene in the hepatopancreas of prawns was upregulated with increasing dietary Mn levels of Mn‐S from 25.55 to 44.48 mg Mn kg?1, Mn‐Met from 15.71 to 45.16 mg Mn kg?1 and then plateaued above these levels. Broken‐line regression analysis of WGR indicated that the optimal dietary Mn requirements for juvenile L. vannamei were 32.26 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐S and 23.90 mg Mn kg?1 Mn‐Met, respectively.  相似文献

Daidzein is widely used in farmed animals as a dietary additive. However, limited information is available about its use in aquaculture. The effects of daidzein inclusion in the diet of gibel carp was assessed in terms of growth performance, immune response, disease resistance, antioxidant activity, hormone levels, daidzein tissue residues, as well as intestinal and liver morphology. The dietary daidzein inclusion levels were 0, 40, 200 and 400 mg kg?1 and six replicates of 30 fish were used for each group. No mortality was observed during the 80day feeding trial. The growth performance of experimental fish was not significantly affected by dietary daidzein supplementation. However, the non‐specific immune responses, resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila, antioxidant activities, 17βoestradiol level, vitellogenin concentration, gonadosomatic index (GSI) and intestinal morphology were significantly affected by dietary daidzein. A dietary dose of 400 mg kg?1 daidzein significantly decreased the GSI, increased 17βoestradiol and vitellogenin concentrations, and impaired the intestinal structure. The daidzein residue in muscle of gibel carp was increased by the high level (400 mg kg?1) of dietary daidzein. Equol was not detected in fish muscle among all treatments. The present study proved that 40 mg kg?1 daidzein was safe to be included in diets of gibel carp, and a safety margin of 5 folds of the use‐level (40 mg kg?1) was determined.  相似文献
