Suspected disseminated histiocytic sarcoma in a 3-year-old Perro de Presa Canario dog

A 3-year-old intact male Perro de Presa Canario dog was presented with acutely inflamed and edematous right hind limb, scrotum, prepuce, and an enlarged left carpus. Two weeks later the dog returned with weight loss, draining tracts in the right hind limb, dermal nodules, a palpable abdominal mass, and uveitis in the left eye. The dog succumbed to his illness 2 days later and a widely disseminated round cell tumor compatible with histiocytic sarcoma was diagnosed following postmortem examination.     

Sur l'Involution de la Bourse de Fabricius chez le Canard

On the involution of the bursa of Fabricius of the duck
The morphological and structural aspects of the functional aspects of the involution were studied light- and electronmicroscopically in ducks 90 to 150 days old. The first involutionary changes were observed in the interfollicular connective tissue around day 100. Following this, cells left the periphery of the follicles; they were connected with collagen fibers and positioned themselves between the lymphocytes of the cortex that became thinner before it disappeared.
On day 135 the medulla lost its lymphocyte content through wide ducts which opened directly into the lumen of the bursa. On day 150 the bursa experienced a massive overgrowth; almost all follicles had disintegrated and only small groups of cells remained which consisted principally of reticuloepithelial cells and some lymphocytes.
Cysts were not observed during the involution of the bursa.

Histochemical and morphological studies of skeletal muscle of some fresh and salt water fish is presented. Distribution of three muscle types, red, intermediate and white, is discussed.

This study describes the left and right coronary artery distribution in the Spanish fighting bull, and compares the findings of the investigation with those of other bovine species in which similar investigations have been carried out. It is concluded that the general distribution of the coronary system in the Spanish fighting bull is similar to that of other bovine species which have been studied.     

Cronología de Osificación Postnatal del Autópodo Torócico en el Gato Siamés (Felis catus L.)*

Chronology of the postnatal ossification of the Thoracic autopodo in the Siam cat (Felis catus L.) A study was done by radiological techniques to show the chronology of ossification of the thoracic autopodo of the Siam cat from birth up to the 25th week of postnatal development. For this experiment we used 40 little cats (19 males and 21 females) belonging to 11 litters subjected to different controls: pattern race, healthy, feeding, grow up and radioactivity. The time of the appearance and evolution of the centres that form the basipodo, metapodo and acropodo of the thoracic limb is determined. Likewise it is analized the phenomenon of fusion during that time to define the main ossification sequence in the carpo. The aspects of the postnatal ossification of the thoracic autopodo in the Siam cat are compared with the literature of differents authors about the common cat.
