The N contribution of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) to the succeeding corn (Zea mays L.) crop (FYC) is widely recognized. However, there is less information regarding the optimum N fertilization rates (ONR) for a second-year corn (SYC) following alfalfa. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the response of SYC after alfalfa to N fertilization under irrigated semiarid conditions. Three field experiments of SYC following alfalfa were conducted between 2007 and 2009 in Northeast Spain. Treatments included the combination of six N rates applied to FYC (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 300 kg N ha−1) with four N rates applied to SYC (0, 100, 200, and 300 kg N ha−1). In one of the three fields, high SYC yields (16.8 Mg ha−1) were obtained in plots that remained unfertilized during two consecutive years after alfalfa. On the other two fields, 81-100% of the maximum corn yields were obtained with application of 200 kg N ha−1 to SYC. Results suggest that the typical N fertilizer rates applied to SYC after alfalfa in irrigated semiarid areas (300 kg N ha−1) could be reduced by at least 100 kg N ha−1, with small or no economic penalties and important reductions in N losses.  相似文献

2014、2015年夏季,试验采用单因素随机区组设计,以先玉335为材料,设置两种肥料增效剂、7种施肥方式,研究大喇叭口期和抽雄期植物学性状、施肥后0、14、28、42 d时0~30 cm和31~60 cm土壤中NH_4~+-N和NO_3~--N含量以及收获时玉米穗部性状和产量差异。结果表明,分期施肥比全部氮肥作底肥更能促进夏玉米茎粗、叶面积、气生根数量、穗长、穗行数和行粒数等增加。与对照和不施用肥料增效剂相比,0~30 cm和31~60 cm土层中施用两种肥料增效剂的NH_4~+-N含量较高,NO_3~--N含量较低,控制了NH_4~+/NO_3~-比例。两种肥料增效剂相比,Entrench效果明显优于NMAX。  相似文献

The APSIM model was used to assess the impact of legumes on sorghum grown in rotation in a nutrient-limited system under dry conditions in south-western Zimbabwe. An experiment was conducted at Lucydale, Matopos Research Station, between 2002 and 2005. The model was used to simulate soil and plant responses in the experiment. Sequences of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata), pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan), groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) and sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) were used in the rotations. Legumes accumulated up to 130 kg of N ha−1 which was potentially available for uptake by sorghum in the following season. The APSIM model predicted total biomass, grain and N yields of the legume phase within the experimental error and performed well in predicting sorghum yield and N supplied in the rotation after cowpea and groundnut. The model generally under-predicted sorghum total biomass and grain yield after pigeonpea. Observed patterns of crop water use, evaporative losses during the dry season and re-charge of soil profile at the start of the rainy season were generally well predicted by the model. An assessment of output on sorghum N and water stresses in the rotation indicated that the legume–cereal rotation is more driven by soil nitrogen availability than water availability even under semi-arid conditions. Further legume–cereal rotation analysis using the model will assist in the understanding of other processes in the rotations in dry environments.  相似文献

The present study describes the role of different exogenous hormones on morphology and plumbagin production in Plumbago indica hairy roots. It was also aimed to conserve elite root clones via synthetic seed technology. Insertion of rolB gene in transformed roots was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction followed by southern blot analysis. Hairy roots were treated with single or in combination of different phytohormones viz. IAA, IBA, 2, 4-D, NAA, BAP, GA3 and ABA. Cultures incubated with GA3 (0.5 mg l−1) yielded highest root growth due to formation of profuse lateral branching while NAA (0.5 mg l−1) treatment caused highest plumbagin accumulation. Cultures incubated with 2, 4-D exhibited highest inhibitory effect in terms of both root growth and plumbagin production. All phytohormones were found to be effective at lower concentration. In combinatorial study, GA3 + NAA (0.5 mg l−1, each) was found optimum for root biomass and plumbagin production at earlier stage of culture. Different combinations of auxins and BAP induced different morphologies ranging from reduction of lateral branching to rapid disorganization of root matrix. The combinations of ABA and selected auxins were not found promising at any of selected concentration. Based on the effect of exogenous hormones on hairy root culture, elite root clones were selected and encapsulated with sodium alginate matrix. Uniform shaped alginate coated synthetic seeds were conserved up to 6 months exhibited high regeneration potential without disturbing plumbagin content.  相似文献

There has been much interest in artemisinin owing to its excellent activity against malaria, an infectious disease threatening the tropical world. However, the low artemisinin content (0.01-0.8%, DW) in Artemisia annua, which is the only commercial source of artemisinin, makes artemisinin expensive to produce and not yet available on a global scale. Here we show that foliar application of 100 mg l−1 chitosan improved artemisinin biosynthesis in A. annua. The content of dihydroartemisinic acid and artemisinin in chitosan-treated leaves increased by 72% and 53% compared with control values, respectively. Chitosan induced the expression of ADS and DBR2, which could explain the increase in level of artemisinic metabolites. After chitosan treatment, the amounts of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and superoxide anion (O2) in leaves of A. annua were 1.4 and 3.0 times higher than those of the control, respectively. Accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) probably accelerated the conversion of dihydroartemisinic acid to artemisinin. Foliar application of 100 mg l−1 chitosan had no harmful effect on A. annua growth. The simple method described here could be an effective method to improve artemisinin production in A. annua field cultivation.  相似文献

Three large deformation rheological tests, the Kieffer dough extensibility system, the D/R dough inflation system and the 2 g mixograph test, were carried out on doughs made from a large number of winter wheat lines and cultivars grown in Poland. These lines and cultivars represented a broad spread in baking performance in order to assess their suitability as predictors of baking volume. The parameters most closely associated with baking volume were strain hardening index, bubble failure strain, and mixograph bandwidth at 10 min. Simple correlations with baking volume indicate that bubble failure strain and strain hardening index give the highest correlations, whilst the use of best subsets regression, which selects the best combination of parameters, gave increased correlations with R2=0.865 for dough inflation parameters, R2=0.842 for Kieffer parameters and R2=0.760 for mixograph parameters.  相似文献
