An attempt was made to determine the qualitative changes in basmati rice(Pusa Basmati 1121, PB1121) during soaking at 40 ℃ to 80 ℃. Soaking temperature had significant effect(α = 0.01) on chemical composition, glycemic index and starch characteristics of rice. Starch content, apparent amylose content, crude protein content and crude fat content in un-soaked rice were found to be 73.24%, 27.26%, 8.79% and 2.56%, respectively, but differences in these traits were observed after soaking. Amylose to amylopectin ratio(Am/Ap) decreased from 0.59 to 0.52(soaked at 80 ℃). Crude fibre and crude ash contents increased after soaking. The mineral composition(K, P, S, Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn) in soaked rice was found to be 16.46% higher than un-soaked rice at the same degree of polishing. Glycemic index of un-soaked rice was found to be 58.41, but decreased to 54.31 after soaking at 80 ℃. Pasting properties, scanning electron microscope images, and X-ray diffractograms suggested partial gelatinization of starch in the temperature range of 60 ℃ to 80 ℃. Based on qualitative changes in rice(apparent amylose content, Am/Ap ratio and crystallinity rate), it was concluded that intermediate soaking temperatures(60 ℃ to 70 ℃) would be useful for soaking of PB1121.  相似文献

Summary Using the fluorescent lipid stain fluorol yellow 088 to detect suberin in tubers, the numbers of layers and the thickness of the suberized cells in the periderm and within the lenticels showed changes after the early stage of tuber formation. These changes as tubers matured were affected by cultivar and soil moisture conditions. Penetration of the surface tissues of tubers by the water soluble stain safranin O was confined to the lenticles. Although the zone of suberized cells in lenticels acted to some extent as a barrier to penetration, there was not a clear relationship between permeability and suberization. Stored tubers showed thicker suberin berriers in lenticels than freshly harvested tubers. When lenticels of stored tubers proliferated the suberin barrier was disrupted but a further thick suberin barrier formed after exposure to air for two weeks. The findings are discussed in relation to biological control ofErwinia by antagonistic bacteria.  相似文献

Aerobic rice is a new production system for water-short environments. Adapted varieties are usually direct dry seeded and the crop grown under aerobic soil conditions with supplementary irrigation as necessary. Occasionally, yield failures occur which may be related to soil health problems. In the dry season of 2006 and 2007, we conducted a field experiment in the Philippines, to identify the major causes of such yield failure. Four treatments were implemented: (i) Control of direct dry-seeded rice (improved upland variety Apo), (ii) Biocide application, (iii) transplanting into aerobic soil, and (iv) 1 year fallow. Yield in the Biocide treatment was 2 t ha−1 in both years. In all other treatments, yield was 0–0.3 t ha−1. Plants grown in the Biocide treatment showed a reduced degree of galling of roots caused by root-knot nematodes (RKN) and better general root health than the Control treatment. Potentially pathogenic fungi were isolated from root samples (Pythium sp., Fusarium sp., and a Rhizoctonia-like species). Abiotic effects of the Biocide treatment were an increase in KCl-extractable N (initial season 2007) and a decrease in initial soil pH. In the Control treatment, soil pH increased from 6.5 to 8.0 over the two seasons. In 2007, plant tissue analysis indicated Mn deficiency in the Control treatment. Plants that were subjected to foliar micronutrient sprays reacted positively to Fe and Mn sprays in the Control treatment, and Mn spray in the Biocide treatment. We concluded that the Biocide application led to favorable soil conditions by reducing biotic stresses such as RKN and improving nutrient availability. In the other treatments, an interaction of RKN and micronutrient deficiencies with increasing soil pH led to yield failure.  相似文献

Recent results on the population dynamics and damage relationships of root-knot nematode (RKN, Meloidogyne incognita) and of potato cyst nematode (PCN, Globodera pallida) are modelled, and a computer-based programme is used to explore different strategies for PCN control. Damage by RKN was shown to be density dependent, to increase with increasing duration of plant growth, and to be much greater for good than poor hosts. PCN populations both increase and decline more slowly than those of RKN, and modelling suggested that, when non-hosts are grown, differences in decline rates will have an accumulative effect on the effectiveness of rotation. Similarly, differences in nematicide effectiveness will have a major effect on post-harvest PCN populations, and nematicides were shown to be most effective when PCN populations are small. Host resistance is a key component of integrated management of nematodes and, because gene flow in soil is limited, it can be durable.  相似文献

Paddy fields contaminated with cadmium (Cd) present decreased grain yield and produce Cd-contaminated grains. Screening for low-Cd-accumulating cultivars is a useful method to reduce the amount of Cd in the grains. The present study aimed to examine the roles of the root morphology and anatomy in Cd translocation and accumulation in rice plants. Twenty-two rice cultivars were used in the first experiment, after which two cultivars [Zixiangnuo (ZXN) and Jinyou T36 (JYT36)] were selected and used in subsequent experiments under hydroponic conditions. The results showed that there were significant differences in Cd concentrations in the shoots (ranging from 4 to 100 mg/kg) and the Cd translocation rates (shoot/root) (from 7% to 102%) among the 22 cultivars, and the shoot Cd concentration was significantly correlated with the Cd translocation rate of the 22 cultivars under 0.1 mg/L Cd treatment. Compared with cultivar ZXN, JYT36 had greater root Cd uptake and accumulation but lower shoot Cd accumulation and Cd translocation rate. The number of root tips per surface area of cultivar ZXN was greater than that of JYT36, while the average root diameter was lower than that of JYT36. Compared with ZXN, JYT36 had stronger apoplastic barriers, and the Casparian bands and suberin lamellae in the root endodermis and exodermis were closer to the root apex in both the control and Cd treatments, especially for suberin lamellae in the root exodermis with Cd treatments, with a difference of 25 mm. The results also showed that, compared with ZXN, JYT36 had greater percentages of Cd bound in cell walls and intracellular Cd but lower Cd concentrations in the apoplastic fluid under the Cd treatment. The results suggested that Cd translocation, rather than root Cd uptake, is a key process that determines Cd accumulation in the rice shoots. The root morphological and anatomical characteristics evidently affect Cd accumulation in the shoots by inhibiting Cd translocation, especially via the apoplastic pathway. It was possible to pre-screen low-Cd-accumulating rice cultivars on the basis of their root morphology, anatomical characteristics and Cd translocation rate at the seedling stage.  相似文献

 在福建省政和县稻田发现大面积的严重水稻根结线虫病,沟渠内禾本科杂草油芒(Eccoilopus sp.)也遭受根结线虫(Meloidogyne   sp.)的严重侵染。这两种寄主的根结线虫形态特征与拟禾本科根结线虫(Meloidogyne graminicola,Golden and Birchfield,1965)原始描述相符;对根结线虫的rDNA ITS区、28S rDNA D2/D3区进行了扩增、克隆与测序,其序列与GenBank中拟禾本科根结线虫的相似性达99%以上,据此将水稻和油芒上的根结线虫鉴定为拟禾本科根结线虫。通过交叉接种试验和田间调查,证实油芒是水稻根结线虫的重要寄主,为田间水稻根结线虫病的重要侵染源。   相似文献

A field experiment was conducted during rainy seasons of 2009 and 2010 at New Delhi, India to study the influence of varieties and integrated nitrogen management (INM) on methane (CH4) emission and water productivity under flooded transplanted (FT) and aerobic rice (AR) cultivation. The treatments included two rice (‘PB 1’ and ‘PB 1121’) varieties and eight INM practices including N control, recommended dose of N through urea, different combinations of urea with farmyard manure (FYM), green manure (GM), biofertilizer (BF) and vermicompost (VC). The results showed 91.6–92.5 % lower cumulative CH4 emission in AR compared to FT rice. In aerobic conditions, highest cumulative CH4 emission (6.9–7.0 kg ha?1) was recorded with the application of 100 % N by organic sources (FYM+GM+BF+VC). Global warming potential (GWP) was significantly lower in aerobic rice (105.0–107.5 kg CO2 ha?1) compared to FT rice (1242.5–1447.5 kg CO2 ha?1). Significantly higher amount of water was used in FT rice than aerobic rice by both the rice varieties, and a water saving between 59.5 and 63 % were recorded. Under aerobic conditions, both rice varieties had a water productivity of 8.50–14.69 kg ha?1, whereas in FT rice, it was 3.81–6.00 kg ha?1. In FT rice, a quantity of 1529.2–1725.2 mm water and in aerobic rice 929.2–1225.2 mm water was used to produce one kg rice. Thus, there was a saving of 28.4–39.6 % total water in both the rice varieties under AR cultivation.  相似文献

Potato tuber pink eye (PE) is a disorder of unknown origin that results in significant postharvest quality deterioration and rot. Little is known about the physiology of PE, including the characteristic tissue autofluorescence that defines the PE syndrome. The objective of this research was to identify the source of PE-induced autofluorescence and PE-related susceptibility to infection. The suberized barrier of the native periderm and cellular characteristics of neighboring parenchyma tissues were investigated to determine their involvement in the PE disorder. The results create a new physiological model describing the disorder and addressing the enigma of PE. Characteristics of the PE model emerge from the following results: (1) the integrity of the suberized barrier of the native periderm was compromised or absent in some surface areas of PE tubers thereby implicating the breakdown of the native periderm and its associated suberin barrier with PE and the susceptibility of PE tubers to pathogen infection; (2) the PE complex was characterized by unusual suberin poly(phenolic) (SPP) accumulations in the cortical parenchyma followed by latent suberin poly(aliphatic) (SPA) accumulations that were generally insufficient to form a complete barrier that was competent to block infections by pathogenic bacteria and fungi; (3) the aberrant absence or compromised integrity of the suberin barrier, including associated waxes, resulted in erratic increased susceptibility to water vapor loss known to cause tuber shrinkage and flaccidity; (4) widespread accumulations of SPP on parenchyma cell walls were the durable source of autofluorescence commonly used to determine the presence of the disorder; (5) the erratic development of unusual internal phellogen and periderm layers that, if complete with SPA, blocked hyphal advancement; (6) combined, the data provide a plausible explanation for PE infection court and rot anomalies as they occur without ingress of a wound opening. Results also demonstrated that neutral red may be used as a sensitive fluorochrome to detect intact hydrophobic areas in hyphae. Collectively, the results provide compelling evidence that the PE disorder includes a physiological basis.  相似文献

以甬优1540和春优927为试验材料,于2020年开展田间试验,研究了稻田增氧对水稻根系形态与生理特征的影响。结果表明,与CF处理(常淹灌溉)相比,OP处理(稻田增氧)可显著提高水稻产量7.6%~8.7%;同时改善了水稻根系形态与生理特征。主要表现为:提高了齐穗期与灌浆期水稻的根质量与根长密度、增加了根系吸收表面积与活跃吸收表面积;增强了灌浆期水稻的根系氧化力、根系伤流液强度,提高了根系伤流液中的玉米素与玉米素核苷含量。同时,OP处理还改善了地上部植株生理活性,提高了灌浆期水稻剑叶净光合速率以及籽粒中蔗糖合成酶与腺苷二磷酸葡萄糖焦磷酸化酶活性。以上结果说明,稻田增氧可以改善水稻根系形态与生理特征,促进根-冠生长发育,进而提高水稻产量。  相似文献

【目的】二化螟是危害水稻的重要害虫,其钻蛀为害,防治困难,严重威胁水稻生产。本研究对感染二化螟昆虫病原线虫的分离筛选和感染特性进行研究,期望为水稻钻蛀害虫危害的防治提供新的途径和方法。【方法】自越冬代二化螟幼虫体内通过组织分离筛选,获得野外感染二化螟的昆虫病原线虫,室内接种实验分析分离昆虫病原线虫对二化螟的感染活性和作用特性。【结果】自然罹死二化螟幼虫体内分离获得野外感染的昆虫病原线虫N-Yz1,接种4龄二化螟幼虫导致感染并死亡,后期虫体内产生大量形态一致的侵染期线虫(IJ)。形态学观察结合rDNA-ITS序列分析,鉴定分离昆虫病原线虫隶属于斯氏线虫属,与已鉴定种小卷蛾斯氏线虫同源性达99.87%。昆虫病原线虫N-Yz1对不同龄期二化螟幼虫都有较高感染致死作用,40头(IJ)的线虫接种剂量,对低龄(2~3龄)二化螟致死速度快、致死率高, 接种2 4 h 就出现感染致死个体,48 h后幼虫全部死亡。高龄幼虫(4~6龄)感染致死速度较慢,死亡高峰发生在接种线虫后的48 h。N-Yz1接种剂量与二化螟死亡率呈显著正相关,剂量超过30 IJs/头时,4龄二化螟感染死亡率达90%以上。N-Yz1对二化螟幼虫具有明显搜索能力,在距离寄主害虫0-30 cm的范围内,通过迁移扩散,感染二化螟并导致其死亡。【结论】分离昆虫病原线虫N-Yz1具有较强的感染致死能力,表现出防治水稻钻蛀害虫二化螟的潜在应用价值。  相似文献

Soil cadmium (Cd) causes toxicity and oxidative stress, alters biochemical processes and rootknot formation in rice. Irrigation of exogenous peroxidase (POX) together with its co-substrate H2O2(POXRice + H2O2), is likely to have protective effect upon the biochemical and nodular changes in ricegrown in Cd-rich soil. Exposure to Cd concentration of 1.00 mg/L increased oxidative stress, loss of cellviability, electrolyte leakage and root knot formation, whereas it significantly lowered the chlorophyll leveland rhizobium growth in rice. Irrigation of exogenous POXRice + H2O2 to Cd-stressed rice seedlingsreversed the Cd-induced alterations in rice to levels similar in control (non-stressed) seedlings. Resultsprovided strong evidence of exogenous POXRice + H2O2-mediated reversal and restoration of physiologicaland biochemical processes as well as increased resistance of rice seedlings to root knot formation.Irrigation with POXRice + H2O2 appeared to contribute towards bringing normoxic conditions in the otherwisehypoxic soil environment by enhancing the O2 in pot-experiments due to reduced Cd uptake, enhancedmineral homeostasis of essential elements viz. P, Fe, Mo, Mg and Mn for maintenance of root architecturedamaged by lipid peroxidation and reduction in oxidative stress by reducing Cd-induced reactive oxygenspecies generation. Therefore, the mitigation of Cd-toxicity in rice through this novel approach appeared tobe a promising mode to limit Cd-uptake, modulate protective and tolerance mechanisms for sustainablerice yield in Cd-contaminated rice-croplands and prevent nematode attack in rice, however, more detailedstudies are needed prior to large scale applications.  相似文献

Farmers' participatory field trials were conducted at Madhuban, and Taraori, the two participatory experimental sites/locations of the Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA), a collaborative project of IRRI and CIMMYT in Karnal district of Haryana, India, during Kharif (wet season) 2010 and 2011. This research aimed to evaluate preemergence (PRE) and postemergence (POST) herbicides for providing feasible and economically viable weed management options to farmers for predominant scented rice varieties. Treatments with pendimethalin PRE fb bispyribac-sodium + azimsulfuron POST had lower weed biomass at 45 days after sowing (DAS). At Madhuban, highest grain yield of scented basmati rice (3.43 t ha−1) was recorded with the sequential application of pendimethalin PRE fb bispyribac-sodium + azimsulfuron POST. However, at Taraori, yields were similar with pendimethalin or oxadiargyl PRE fb bispyribac-sodium and/or azimsulfuron POST. Applying oxadiargyl by mixing with sand onto flooded field was less effective than spray applications in non-flooded field. The benefit-cost ratio of rice crop was higher with herbicide treatments at both sites as compared with the non-treated weed-free check except single PRE and POST applications and sequential application of oxadiargyl PRE fb oxadiargyl PRE. In a separate experiment conducted at Nagla and Taraori sites, scented rice cultivars' ('CSR 30′ and 'Pusa 1121′) tolerance to three rates of azimsulfuron (15, 25, and 35 g ai ha−1) was evaluated over two years (2010 and 2011). CSR 30 (superfine, scented) was more sensitive to higher rates (35 g ai ha−1) of azimsulfuron as compared to Pusa 1121 (fine, scented). Crop injuries were 8 and 28% in case of CSR 30; 5 and 15% in Pusa 1121 when applied with azimsulfuron 25 and 35 g ai ha−1, respectively. Azimsulfuron applied at 35 g ai ha−1 reduced yield in both cultivars but in CSR 30 yield reduction was twofold (11.5%) as that of Pusa 1121 (5.2%).  相似文献

Greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate selenium accumulation and its antioxidant response in two rice varieties(PR116 and Pusa Basmati 1121) grown on normal and seleniferous soils. The plant growth was reduced at early developmental stages and flowering was delayed by a period of 10 d on seleniferous soil. Selenium accumulation increased by 3–20 and 13–14 folds in leaves, 18 and 3 folds in grains from Pusa Basmati 1121 and PR116 varieties, respectively. Selenium accumulation in leaves from rice plants grown on seleniferous soil resulted in significant increase in chlorophyll content, hydrogen peroxide, proline, free amino acids, total phenol and tannin contents. Lipid peroxidation levels and peroxidase activities in leaves increased whereas catalase activity showed a reverse trend. It is concluded that selenium accumulation decreased dry matter content in rice during crop development but these plants were able to combat selenium toxicity by inducing alterations in their defense system.  相似文献

The rice stem nematode Ditylenchus angustus causes “Ufra” disease in rice resulting in substantial yield losses. Although it is predominant in deep water rice in South and Southeast Asia, this nematode also infects irrigated and rainfed low land rice. This study evaluated rice genotypes (irrigated, rainfed, deep water and landraces) for resistance to the Bangladeshi population of D. angustus. The experiment was executed using artificial inoculation, in both rainfed and irrigated ecosystems. The rice varieties were first scored at 28 days post inoculation (dpi), and ranked based on the postinfectional reactions and severity of symptoms on a 0–16 rating scale. The susceptibility of the varieties was also evaluated at a later time point, i.e. 55 dpi, based on the percentage of tiller infections, using a disease index scoring system ranging from 0 to 9. Both screening methods showed a similar ranking of the varieties for susceptibility/resistance against this nematode. The experiment was initially conducted in plastic pots, and the promising varieties were analyzed further in field conditions. Out of the 85 varieties, one landrace named ‘Manikpukha’ proved to be highly resistant, while 6 other varieties showed resistance and 13 varieties showed moderately resistant responses under both pot and field conditions. The promising varieties found in the present investigation can be used in rice breeding programs as well as for further detailed studies to develop a sustainable ufra management strategy.  相似文献

Hypochlorite (chlorine) wash solutions are used as a treatment of cut potato seed. The effect of such treatments on potato suberization was investigated. Histochemical staining showed that increasing chlorine rates caused a thicker suberin layer to form. However, increasing chlorine rates caused a less effective water vapor and pathogen barrier to form, as measured by weight lost during drying and decay of tuber disks inoculated withFusarium sambucinum. A chemical assay of the lignin-like component of the suberin layer did not show any consistent effect of increasing chlorine rates. Wash concentrations as high as 500 ppm CI did not adversely affect suberization.  相似文献

【目的】水稻Os08g44770.1基因编码一个铜锌SOD酶,但其在响应亚砷酸盐[As(Ⅲ)]胁迫中的生物学功能未知。本研究旨在深入揭示由该基因调控水稻砷耐性改变的分子机理并为水稻抗逆育种提供理论参考。【方法】以野生型日本晴(WT)和2个Os08g44770.1过表达转基因株系为试材,通过胁迫处理、生理指标测定和基因表达分析等,系统探究了转基因植株对As(Ⅲ)的耐受性表现,并初步揭示了其调控水稻砷耐性的生理和分子机理。【结果】与WT相比,过表达转基因株系对As(Ⅲ)更加敏感;转基因植株在砷胁迫下的根系相对伸长量、生物量(干质量)、叶绿素含量、根系细胞质膜完整性、叶片抗氧化程度等均显著低于WT;Os08g44770.1在砷处理后的WT和转基因植株叶片中的表达模式略有不同,但均表现为处理24 h时被显著诱导表达。【结论】过度表达Os08g44770.1基因可导致水稻的砷耐受性极显著下降。  相似文献

Despite increasing knowledge of barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli) interference with rice, relatively little is known how endophytes improve the ability of rice against barnyardgrass stress. Here, we provided a detailed temporal characterization of rice root-associated microbiomes during co-cultivation with barnyardgrass and a comparison with the microbiomes of weed-free rice plants. Alpha diversity analysis indicated that barnyardgrass had the opposite effects on endophytic bacteria and fungi in rice roots, in terms of the community diversity, richness and coverage at the rice seedling stage. Principal coordinate analysis showed that barnyardgrass had only a minor effect on the community composition of endophytes in rice roots at the rice seedling stage, but showed a significant and maximum interference at the heading stage. Rice recruited many endophytes to resist biotic stress from barnyardgrass, especially for fungi. PICRUSt (phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states) predictive analysis indicated that 23 metabolic pathways of bacteria were overrepresented in rice. In addition, the main trophic mode of fungi was pathotroph according to FUNGuild analysis. A positive correlation between bacteria and fungi in rice roots was found via network analysis. Anaeromyxobacter, Azospira and Pseudolabrys were the vital bacteria, Phaeosphaeria and Funneliformis were the dominant fungi in maintaining the stability of the ecological network. These results provided data and a theoretical basis for the in-depth understanding of what role endophytes play in rice resistance to barnyardgrass stress and will have implications on improving the resistance of rice against biotic stress using root microbiota.  相似文献

对水上种植条件下的水稻根系的一些性状与水田条件下种植时进行了比较。结果表明,水上水稻的根系数量、根系分枝特性、根粗等形态指标以及根系活跃吸收面积百分比等生理指标与水田水稻根系表现出较好的一致性,而且在整个生育期内的动态变化也呈现出较一致的趋势。说明利用水上种植方法研究水稻根系是可行的,能较好地反映较高产量水平的水稻根系在自然环境条件下的生长情况,因此有望成为今后水稻根系研究的一条简便有效的新方法。  相似文献

湖南水稻主推品种对旱稻孢囊线虫的抗性及评价方法   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
【目的】旱稻孢囊线虫是一种水稻上重要的病原线虫。筛选抗虫种质资源对抗病品种的选育至关重要。【方法】通过室内二龄幼虫接种和田间自然病圃鉴定,以单株平均孢囊数、相对抗病指数和繁殖系数法评价了湖南省51个主推的水稻品种对旱稻孢囊线虫的抗性。【结果】在供试水稻品种中未发现有免疫和高抗品种。室内接种条件下,在24个中稻品种中,依据单株平均孢囊数评价,仅广两优2010表现为抗;依据相对抗病指数评价,广两优2010、准两优527、广两优1128 3个品种为抗;在27个晚稻品种中,依据单株平均孢囊数评价,盛泰优9712、准两优608、农香优204、岳优9264、岳优3700、中浙优1号、岳优27、湘晚糯1号、贺优50、Y两优9918共10个品种为抗;而依据相对抗病指数评价,湘晚糯1号、贺优50、Y两优9918表现为中感。在田间自然病圃条件下,依据繁殖系数Pf/Pi评价,筛选出9个晚稻抗性品种,鉴定结果与室内接种相对抗病指数法基本一致。【结论】室内接种相对抗病指数法可以作为评价水稻品种对旱稻孢囊线虫抗性的有效方法。  相似文献
