The Ya Li pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) trees were sprayed three times with 2.5 mM salicylic acid (SA) around 30, 60 and 90 days after full flowering. The fruit were harvested at commercial maturity (about 120 days after full flowering), inoculated with Penicillium expansum, and incubated at 20 °C, 95–100% RH. The results showed that resistance to the pathogen of the mature pear fruit was remarkably enhanced by the SA sprays. Disease incidence in the SA-treated fruit was 58.0% or 26.5%, and lesion diameter on SA-treated fruit was 58.4% or 29.0% lower than that in/on fruit without SA treatment (control) on day 12 or 17 after incubation, respectively. The SA spray applied to the trees around 30 days after full flowering notably enhanced accumulation of hydrogen peroxide in the young fruit. Meanwhile, activities of defense enzymes, including peroxidase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), chitinase or β-1,3-glucanase in the young fruit from SA-treated trees was 29.5%, 60.0%, 24.4% or 35.7% higher than that in the control fruit 4 days after the SA spraying. Furthermore, after harvest, activities of PAL, chitinase and β-1,3-glucanase were still significantly higher in the mature pear fruit from the trees sprayed three times with SA than those of the control fruit. Activities of the antioxidant enzymes including catalase and ascorbate peroxidase in the young fruit were significantly reduced by SA spraying. However, the activity of another antioxidant enzyme, glutathione reductase in the young fruit was significantly enhanced by SA spraying. These results suggest that enzymes exerting their functions in different ways may be coordinately regulated by SA in the pear fruit. Our study indicates that treatment of SA sprays on the trees may provide further protection against postharvest disease of Ya Li pear fruit in practice and could be used as an alternative and economical approach to reduce application of chemical fungicides.  相似文献

Abstract

Curvularia leaf spot of maize is becoming increasingly important in Nigeria. Six fungicides were tested for their effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of Curvularia pallescens Boed. in culture. The fungicides copper oxychloride, copper oxychloride + zineb and benomyl were more effective than mancozeb, zineb or maneb in inhibiting the growth of C. pallescens in culture; however, only copper oxychloride + zineb and copper oxychloride alone effectively controlled Curvularia leaf spot on maize.

Four maize varieties were artificially inoculated in a disease-loss field trial. The yield depressing effect of the disease was found to be significantly dependent on the type of variety infected. Regression coefficients (grain yield versus leaf infection) among the four maize varieties were not statistically homogeneous, percentage grain yield reduction ranged from 3.0 for the variety NCBRbu to 33.3 for the variety Igbira.  相似文献

Abstract

A serious outbreak of muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) downy mildew caused by Pseudoperonospora cubensis (Berk. &; Curt) Rostow, occurred in the Punjab (India) due to unusual rain showers accompanied by high humidity. Nine different fungicides were evaluated and of these zineb 75% (Dithane Z-78) and copper oxychloride (Blitox 50%) gave reasonable control of the disease.  相似文献

Abstract

Endosulfan and trichlorphon at 0.03% and 0.06%; carbaryl (0.05% and 0.1%) and methomyl (0.025% and 0.05%) were used as treatments to control Spodoptera litura and, with and without sticker, Scrobipalpa heliopa in nursery tobacco. Four treatments were applied; 14, 24, 34 and 44 days after germination. Carbaryl and trichlorphon gave the most effective control of Spodoptera litura and endosulfan was the only effective treatment for Scrobipalpa heliopa.  相似文献

In field experiments on the effectiveness of overhead irrigation spraying of crop protection chemicals, an oscillating bar sprinkler was compared with hand spraying in post-harvest applications of protective fungicides mancozeb (0.096% a.i.) with zineb (0.022% a.i.) for the control of blackcurrant leaf spot, Pseudopeziza ribis. Twin-jet rotating sprinkler nozzles were compared with conventional automatic spraying of Cox's Orange Pippin apple trees in the application of a malathion emulsion (0.125% a.i.) for the control of apple-grass aphid, Rhopalosiphum insertum and also in applications of pre-blossom dodine emulsion (0.03% a.i.) and post-blossom captan suspension (0.09% a.i.) for control of apple scab, Venturia inaequalis. All applications were made at a nominal rate of 2250 litres/ha (200 gal/acre). On blackcurrants, the hand spraying gave much better control of leaf spot and was shown by fluorescent tracer assessment to give more cover on the lower surfaces of the leaves than the sprinkler. On apple, the rotating sprinklers gave almost as good control of apple-grass aphid and apple scab as the conventional automatic spraying. The malathion deposit levels, determined by g.l.c., on the flower trusses were also comparable, though the liquid volume distribution from the irrigation nozzles was uneven.  相似文献

为筛选有效防控香蕉枯萎病菌扩散蔓延的灭菌方法,采用含毒介质培养法测定咪鲜胺和多菌灵不同配比对枯萎病菌的毒力作用以筛选最佳混配液,比较最佳混配液与生石灰、草甘膦、咪鲜胺的平板抑菌和大田灭菌效果,并研究了大田不同施用方式对最佳混配液灭菌效果的影响。结果表明,咪鲜胺与多菌灵体积比为10∶1时得最佳混配液,可显著提高对香蕉枯萎病菌的抑制效果,增效系数为1.53,EC50值最小,为0.025 mg/L;4种药剂的EC50值由大到小为草甘膦生石灰咪鲜胺最佳混配液。1 000 mg/L最佳混配液喷施于大田病株5 d后根际土壤病菌含量下降了95.93%,10 d后球茎病菌含量减少了71.88%,综合灭菌效果显著优于其它处理。此外,应用打孔灌药法可显著提高最佳混配液对大田病株的灭菌效果,施用5 d后球茎病菌含量减少了95.95%。表明以打孔灌药法施用1 000 mg/L最佳混配液灭菌效果显著且操作便捷,易于推广应用。  相似文献

In 3 year field experiments on pest and disease control by mobile overhead spraying of intensive Cox's Orange Pippin apple trees, overhead booms applying 1125 litres/ha and overhead mist-blowing equipment applying 562 litres/ha, each spraying two complete rows from one alley in half the normal time, were compared with conventional automatic mast spraying at 2250 litres/ha and with conventional mist-blowing at 562 litres/ha. The overhead boom application of demeton-S-methyl (0.0036% a.i.) with azinphos-methyl (0.0165% a.i.) or of fenitrothion (0.031% a.i.) at the green cluster stage gave control of the applegrass aphid, Rhopalosiphum insertum, virtually equal to that obtained by conventional application of the same insecticides. Similarly, the overhead mist applications of conventional quantities of insecticides gave equal control, but not when applying one-quarter of the normal amount of insecticides. The conventional methods generally gave better control of apple sucker, Psylla mali. In 1971, when the incidence of apple scab, Venturia inaequalis, was only moderate, the overhead boom method gave equal control to conventional spraying with both dodine/captan (0.03% a.i. and 0.094% a.i.) and benomyl (0.025% a.i.) programmes: in 1972 and 1973, when the scab incidence was heavier, the overhead boom spraying was again equal to the conventional method with the benomyl programme but was less effective with the dodine/captan programme. The overhead mist applications gave control only when the scab incidence was light. Repeated applications of dinocap emulsion (0.025% a.i.), included in the fungicide programme in 1971, gave as good control of the active stages of fruit tree red spider mite, Panonychus ulmi, when applied by the overhead methods as by conventional spraying, but application of the benomyl programme gave poor control. Mobile overhead spraying of small intensive apple trees is a promising method but needs further development before becoming fully acceptable.  相似文献

BACKGROUND

A reduction in chasmothecia, an important inoculum of grape powdery mildew (Erysiphe necator Schwein.), is essential for disease control in vineyards; the use of fungicides during the formation of chasmothecia on vine leaves, late in the growing season, may accomplish this. Inorganic fungicides, such as sulphur, copper, and potassium bicarbonate, are very useful for this purpose because of their multisite mode of action. The aim of this study was to evaluate chasmothecia reduction using different fungicide applications late in the growing season in commercially managed vineyards and in an exact application trial.

RESULTS

Chasmothecia on vine leaves were reduced in commercial vineyards by four copper (P = 0.01) and five potassium bicarbonate (P = 0.026) applications. The positive effect of potassium bicarbonate was also confirmed in the application trial, where two applications showed lower chasmothecia numbers than the control (P = 0.002).

CONCLUSION

The application of inorganic fungicides reduced the amount of chasmothecia as the primary inoculum source. Potassium bicarbonate and copper are of further interest for disease control as these fungicides can be used by organic and conventional wine growers. The application of these fungicides should be carried out as late as possible before harvest to reduce chasmothecia formation and, consequently, the potential for powdery mildew infestation in the subsequent season. © 2023 The Authors. The effect of various fungicides on Glomerella cingulata, the causal agent of a serious rot of olive fruits, was evaluated both in vitro and in the field. The following fungicides were tested: copper oxychloride, Bordeaux mixture, ziram, myclobutanil, hexaconazole, metiram, bitertanol and benomyl. Field trials were carried out in Calabria (southern Italy) for 2 years on two olive cultivars, Ottobratica (susceptible) and Sinopolese (resistant). The minimum effective concentrations of bitertanol, hexaconazole, myclobutanil, benomyl, metiram, ziram, and copper oxychloride on mycelial growth in vitro were < 5, < 50, < 50, < 1000, < 1000, < 1000, < 1000 μg ml?1, respectively. The ED90 values for conidial germination were 0.01, 0.02, 50, 50, 1000, 1000, and 1000 μg ml?1 of benomyl, ziram, myclobutanil, copper oxychloride, bitertanol, hexaconazole and metiram, respectively. In field trials, Bordeaux mixture and copper oxychloride proved to be the most effective products; however ziram, myclobutanil, bitertanol, metiram, and hexaconazole reduced the incidence of fruit rot significantly.  相似文献

In 3 year field experiments on the development of more economical methods for pest and disease control on intensively planted dessert apple trees, low dose applications of one-tenth of the normal quantities of pesticide in one-hundredth, one-tenth and one-fifth of the normal volumes were compared with conventional high volume spraying at 2250 litres/ha. An experimental tractor-mounted mist blower, a motorised knapsack mist blower and a fan-assisted disc sprayer were each used to apply the pesticides in 225, 45 and 22.5 litres of water/ha. Control of the apple-grass aphid, Rhopalosiphum insertum, obtained by low dose spraying of demeton-S-methyl (8 g a.i./ha) combined with azinphos-methyl (37 g a.i./ha) in 225 and 22.5 litres/ha in 1971 and of fenitrothion (70 g a.i./ha) in 225, 45 and 22.5 litres/ha in 1972 and 1973 was almost equal to that obtained by the conventional high volume method. Low dose applications of benomyl fungicide programmes gave poor control of apple scab, Venturia inaequalis in 1971 when the disease incidence on the fruit was very high at 73%, but in 1972 and 1973, when it was moderately high at 42–45%, control was almost equal to that given by the conventional high volume method. Under these conditions all the low dose methods gave better control with benomyl than with dodine/captan programmes.  相似文献

The effects of a new packaging method of sealing individual fruits in film of highdensity polyethylene (HDPE), on decay control and the residue levels of various fungicides applied to the fruit, were investigated with four different citrus cultivars. HDPE seal-packaging by itself reduced the decay of Marsh grapefruit but slightly enhanced the decay of Valencia orange fruit in comparison with conventionally handled fruit. Seal-packaging of individual fruit resulted in much less decay than sealing a whole carton of fruit together. The fungicides imazalil, sec-butylamine, 2-phenylphenol, benomyl and thiabendazole markedly reduced the decay of sealed fruit in all cultivars of citrus fruits tested. Residue levels in treated fruit were below the tolerances permitted. The new method of packaging had no effect on the residue levels of benomyl, 2-phenyl-phenol and thiabendazole in the fruit; neither did it affect the extent of absorption of these fungicides into the fruit. Only the volatile fungicide sec-butylamine was found at a higher level (73% higher in the packaged fruit compared with conventionally treated fruit).  相似文献

Early anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum acutatum has become an increasingly serious disease on green, unripe bell pepper fruit in Florida. This contrasts with earlier reports of anthracnose occurring on bell pepper primarily as a ripe-rot disease of mature, colored pepper fruit caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Management of anthracnose on green bell pepper fruit using fungicides and a commercial inducer of systemic acquired resistance, acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM), was evaluated during three seasons. In two of the three trials, all the fungicides tested including azoxystrobin, fludioxonil + cyprodinil, mancozeb, famoxadone + cymoxanil, copper hydroxide, and ASM significantly increased the number of marketable fruit compared with control plants. These trials identified fungicides that could contribute to a successful pest management program on pepper for controlling anthracnose caused by C. acutatum. The cross-infectivity potential of C. acutatum was investigated on tomato and strawberry by in vitro and field inoculation. Anthracnose lesions formed readily on wound-inoculated detached fruits of all hosts in in vitro assays. Under field conditions, after inoculation, anthracnose lesions occurred on pepper fruit but no lesions of anthracnose were found on either ripe or unripe tomato or strawberry fruit in adjacent plots.  相似文献

为明确黄瓜霜霉病菌Pseudoperonospora cubensis对氟吡菌胺的抗性时空动态,2011—2016年从河北省和山东省黄瓜主产区采集1 821株霜霉病菌,采用叶盘漂浮法检测供试菌株对氟吡菌胺的敏感性,并以茎叶喷雾法评估5种常规药剂对黄瓜霜霉病的田间防效。结果表明,河北省和山东省黄瓜主产区的黄瓜霜霉病菌对氟吡菌胺已普遍产生了低度抗性,平均抗性倍数为5.86;所有供试菌株的抗性频率为51.89%,其中低抗菌株及中抗菌株分别占36.18%和15.71%;平均抗性指数为0.34,每年检测的抗性频率、抗性倍数及抗性指数呈增长趋势,且随着监测区域的变化而变化。在河北省定兴县和山东省寿光市进行的田间防效试验结果显示,按推荐剂量喷施,687.5 g/L氟吡菌胺·霜霉威盐酸盐SC对黄瓜霜霉病防效显著高于常规对照药剂68%精甲霜灵·代森锰锌WG、58%甲霜灵·代森锰锌WP、80%代森锰锌WP及250 g/L嘧菌酯SC的防效,但防效明显下降,由2011年的92.58%~93.31%降至2016年的80.07%~80.82%。表明需要制定和实施抗药性治理对策,如限制山东和河北2省黄瓜的每个生长季节中687.5 g/L氟菌·霜霉威SC的使用不超过2次,而且要与不同作用机理的卵菌杀菌剂交替使用防治黄瓜霜霉病。  相似文献

Stem rot caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is a major fungal disease of canola worldwide. In Australia the management of stem rot relies primarily on strategic application of synthetic fungicides. In an attempt to find alternative strategies for the management of the disease, 514 naturally occurring bacterial isolates were screened for antagonism to S. sclerotiorum. Antifungal activity against mycelial growth of the fungus was exhibited by three isolates of bacteria. The bacteria were identified as Bacillus cereus (SC‐1 and P‐1) and Bacillus subtilis (W‐67) via 16S rRNA sequencing. In vitro antagonism assays using these isolates resulted in significant inhibition of mycelial elongation and complete inhibition of sclerotial germination by both non‐volatile and volatile metabolites. The antagonistic strains caused a significant reduction in the viability of sclerotia when tested in a greenhouse pot trial with soil collected from the field. Spray treatments of bacterial strains reduced disease incidence and yielded higher control efficacy both on inoculated cotyledons and stems. Application of SC‐1 and W‐67 in the field at 10% flowering stage (growth stage 4·00) of canola demonstrated that control efficacy of SC‐1 was significantly higher in all three trials (over 2 years) when sprayed twice at 7‐day intervals. The greatest control of disease was observed with the fungicide Prosaro® 420SC or with two applications of SC‐1. The results demonstrated that, in the light of environmental concerns and increasing cost of fungicides, B. cereus SC‐1 may have potential as a biological control agent of sclerotinia stem rot of canola in Australia.  相似文献

Abstract

In field evaluation trials nine test fungicides significantly reduced the incidence and severity of leaf scald disease of rice caused by Monographella albescens (Thüm)(Rhynchosporium oryzae Hashioka & Yokogi) and increased the yield. Of these fungicides Difolatan (captafol) and Dithane M‐45 (mancozeb) were more effective than the other fungicides. Relatively longer persistence of fungicidal residues was detected in three test chemicals, i.e., Blitox‐50 (copper oxychloride), Difolatan and Dithane M‐45. Amount of rainfall appeared to be a main weather factor in influencing persistence of a fungicide.  相似文献

Abstract

Five fungicides, 2 antibiotics and 2 combinations of fungicides and antibiotics were evaluated against incidence of bacterial and fungal diseases of Piper betle L. Cv. ‘Desawari’. Copper oxychloride 50 WP (Blitox‐50) at 0.25% at 15 days interval was most effective against mortality caused by Phytophthora parasitica var. piperina Dastur; whereas 0.25% Copper oxychloride 50 WP with 500 ppm streptocycline was best against leaf spots caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. betlicola Dye. and Colletotrichum capsici Syd. (Butler &; Bisby). Other formulations viz., Carbendazim (Bavistin), Trideomorph (Calixin), Mancozeb (DithaneM‐45), Copper oxychloride 50 WP (Kilex), Paushamycin and Streptocycline were only next to the copper oxychloride 50 WP (Blitox‐50) or its combination with streptocycline.  相似文献

Stemphylium vesicarium, the causal agent of brown spot of pear, overwinters in the leaf residues of pear and herbaceous plants of the orchard floor. Pseudothecia of the teleomorph, Pleospora allii, are formed on these residues where they produce ascospores. New methods were tested aimed at reducing this overwintering inoculum and increasing the efficacy of control of brown spot of pear. Sanitation methods were evaluated in nine trials in Girona (Spain) and Ferrara (Italy) over a 4-year period. The sanitation methods were leaf litter removal in December to February, and application of biological control agents (commercial formulates of Trichoderma spp.) to the orchard ground cover from February to May. Fungicides were also applied to the trees during the pear-growing season, scheduled according to the BSPcast model. The different methods were tested as stand-alone applications or in combination. All methods consistently reduced the disease incidence at harvest on fruit with an efficacy between 30 to 60% for leaf litter removal and more than 60% for the combination of leaf litter removal and biological control. Efficacy of sanitation alone (leaf litter removal and biological control) in reducing the brown spot level on fruit was similar in most of the trials to the efficacy obtained when fungicides were applied alone. However, integration of sanitation methods and fungicides did not improve the efficacy of disease control over the level provided by fungicides alone.  相似文献

Inoculation of tomato seeds with the plant growth-promoting bacterium Azospirillum brasilense, or spraying tomato foliage with A. brasilense, streptomycin sulfate, or commercial copper bactericides, separately, before or after inoculation with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato, the casual agent of bacterial speck of tomato, had no lasting effect on disease severity or on plant height and dry weight. Seed inoculation with A. brasilense combined with a single streptomycin foliar treatment and two foliar bactericide applications at 5-day intervals (a third or less of the recommended commercial dose) reduced disease severity in tomato seedlings by over 90% after 4 weeks, and significantly slowed disease development under mist conditions. A. brasilense did not induce significant systemic resistance against the pathogen although the level of salicylic acid increased in inoculated plants. Treatment of tomato seeds that were artificially inoculated with P. syringae pv. tomato, with a combination of mild chemo-thermal treatment, A. brasilense seed inoculation, and later, a single foliar application of a copper bactericide, nearly eliminated bacterial leaf speck even when the plants were grown under mist for 6 weeks. This study shows that a combination of otherwise ineffective disease management tactics, when applied in concert, can reduce bacterial speck intensity in tomatoes under mist conditions.  相似文献
