The antibiosis of tenZea mays L. inbred lines to the carmine spider mite,Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisduval) (Acari: Tetranychidae), was evaluated. Two maize inbred lines previously reported as resistant to this spider mite and a susceptible inbred line were compared with B96 (formerly called 41:2504B), reported as being resistant to the two-spotted spider mite T. urticae and to the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis Hübner). Other lines were derived from B96. All lines originated in the U.S.A. and were tested in Israel at two different growth stages. Four days after inoculation of detached leaf squares with adult mites, significant differences in susceptibility were observed among lines. At the 3-leaf stage lines B68, B96, B79, A619, B65, B49 and B64 reduced the average mite daily fecundity by 43%, 64%, 66%, 67%, 77%, 81% and 87%, respectively, as compared with the most susceptible line, B52. At the flowering stage, the average reduction in mite daily fecundity was much lower: inbred lines B64, A619 and B96 reduced the average mite daily fecundity by 48%, 51% and 86%, respectively, whereas the seven other genotypes had an intermediate or a susceptible reaction to the carmine spider mite, with A661 being the most susceptible. Our results show that B96 could be used as a source of resistance in developing improved resistance of inbred lines of maize to carmine spider mites.  相似文献

Control of the spider miteTetranychus cinnabarinus Boisduval is problematic, and there is a pressing need for efficient, non-hazardous and inexpensive strategies for limiting the damage it causes. The gene for the anti-bacterial peptide sarcotoxin IA of the flesh flySarcophaga peregrina was cloned into the nonpathogenic potyvirus-based vector system ZYMV-AGII (Zucchini yellow mosaic virus-AGII). Expression of this peptidevia the AGII vector was detected in infected squash leaves and was not deleterious to the host plant. Leaf discs of squash infected with the recombinant virus AGII-sarcotoxin IA were tested for spider mite control under laboratory conditions. Spider mite egg production on plants expressing the sarcotoxin IA gene was decreased by a factor of two or three compared with that on AGII-infected plants or healthy leaf discs, respectively. In contrast to its effect on oviposition, sarcotoxin IA expressing squash did not significantly affect the mortality and the ability to repel spider mites. Crude extract from squash leaves infected with AGII-sarcotoxin IA was also found to cause a significant decrease of mite fecundity compared with extracts from AGII-treated or healthy plants and also caused a rise in mite mortality. Our results demonstrate that sarcotoxin IA affects mite fecundity and, to a lesser degree, mortality, and shows potential for controlling spider mites in the field.  相似文献

Infestations of aphids(Macrosiphum rosae L.) and of twospotted spider mites(Tetranychus urticae Koch) were examined in relation to growth and sporulation ofClonostachys rosea andBotrytis cinerea, and to suppression of the pathogen by the agent, in green rose leaves. Leaves were infested artificially with 10 aphids/leaflet for 3 h, or naturally with 15-30 aphids/leaflet for 7-12 days or with undetermined numbers of mites for 10-12 days. Leaves that had or had not been infested were inoculated withC. rosea, withB. cinerea, or withC. rosea plusB. cinerea. Germination incidence and germ tube growth ofC. rosea andB. cinerea on the phylloplane in most instances were much greater in leaves previously infested with aphids or mites compared with noninfested leaves. After combined inoculation,C. rosea suppressed germination ofB. cinerea from 47% to 19% in noninfested leaves, but in leaves that had been infested the agent was ineffective and germination incidence of the pathogen increased to 75-93%. Previous infestation with naturally introduced aphids or mites, but not brief infestations of artificially introduced aphids, markedly increased sporulation ofC. rosea after the leaves died during an initial 7-15 days of incubation on a paraquat agar medium, regardless of whether or notB. cinerea was present. Sporulation ofB. cinerea was similarly increased when inoculated alone. After 15-20 days, however, conidiophores of the agent or pathogen covered most of the leaf surface in these treatments. In leaves inoculated withC. rosea plusB. cinerea, the agent suppressed sporulation of the pathogen almost completely in both previously infested and noninfested leaves. Thus, aphid and mite infestations did not compromise the ability ofC. rosea to suppress inoculum production byB. cinerea in the leaves. Increased nutrient availability on the phylloplane through exudation or as honeydew or frass is proposed as a basis to explain effects of the pest infestations onC. rosea andB. cinerea.  相似文献

1988-1991年进行的棉花抗硃砂叶螨试验表明,海岛棉和二倍体栽培棉(中棉和草棉)对硃砂叶螨具有较高水平的抗性,它们的抗螨性已通过远缘杂交技术转移到了感螨的陆地棉栽培品种中。来自四川省和河南省的一些品种以及来自美国的PD种质系对硃砂叶螨的抗性比湖北省当地品种要差。叶片有毛,无腺体和高含淀粉的棉花,硃砂叶螨为害较重;而叶片具有致密茸毛、棉酚、可溶性糖、叶绿素和类黄酮含量高以及叶片鲜重高的品种抗螨性较强。  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Two‐spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae Koch) oviposit near leaf veins or in leaf folds on the undersides of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) leaves where the humid boundary layer offers protection from desiccation. The authors predicted that the boundary layer of glabrous cotton leaves should be shallower than that of hairy leaves, providing some resistance to mites. The dynamics of mite populations, leaf damage, leaf gas exchange and crop yield on two leaf hair isolines (smooth versus hairy) in two genetic backgrounds was assessed. RESULTS: Mite colonies developed faster on the hairy leaf isolines, but leaf damage per mite was higher in smooth leaf isolines, indicating more intense damage. A 50% reduction in photosynthesis on the hairy isolines required 1.8 times more mites than smooth leaves. The yield of cotton was reduced in + mite treatments, but the magnitude of reduction was similar for hairy and smooth isolines. CONCLUSION: Paradoxically, the relative inhospitality of glabrous leaves may have induced mites to concentrate in protected leaf sections, causing more localised and more severe damage, negating the yield benefits from fewer mites. These results highlight interactions between leaf microenvironment, pest behaviour and plant productivity that may have implications for other instances of plant resistance. In a study of date fruit damage caused byOligonychus spp., we investigated whether the cultivar affects phenology, and on what hosts the mites over-winter. Samples were taken from ‘Deglet Noor’, ‘Barhi’ and ‘Medjool’ trees from mid-April through mid-September during the years 1999–2002. In the ground-cover mites were monitored by collecting Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon) under each sampling tree. Over 99% of the mites collected on Deglet Noor and Barhi fruit were identified asO. afrasiaticus. Mean population levels ofO. afrasiaticus reached ten mites or more (initiation of infestation) on Medjool in the second half of May, whereas on Deglet Noor this did not occur before the first week of July. On Barhi the initiation of infestation varied between plots and years, ranging from the second half of May to the beginning of July, but always occurred earlier than Deglet Noor. Mite populations on the pinnae remained low from June through October, not exceeding seven mites per pinna, whereas on fruit strands they reached peak populations of approximately 4000 mites per strand. The sex ratio (proportion of females) ofO. afrasiaticus on fruit of all three cultivars was highly female-biased, usually above 0.85. The effects of scarlet mite infestation on symptom development and yield of tea were studied in the laboratory and the fields of the Research Institute for Tea and Cinchona, West Java, Indonesia. The relations of the mite density with the presence of a necrotic leaf base and with leaf duration were determined. A field trial over one year duration where the mite densities were diversified experimentally by spraying either dicofol or copper oxychloride did not show effects on yield with average densities up to 30 eggs and mites per leaf. This density is proposed as a preliminary minimum threshold for control.Samenvatting De symptoom-en schadeontwikkeling in thee als gevolg van aantasting door palmmijt (oranje mijt) werd onderzocht in het laboratorium en de theetuinen van het Proefstation voor Thee en Kina in West Java, Indonesië. The species composition and seasonal cycle ofTetranychus urticae Koch (two-spotted spider mite) andEotetranychus uncatus Garman (garman spider mite; the two species were evaluated together),Amphitetranychus viennensis (Zacher) (hawthom red spider nite),Panonychus ulni (Koch) (European red mite),Bryobia rubrioculus (Scheuten) (brown mite) (Acari Tetranychidae),Cenopalpus pulcher Can and Fanz. (flat scarlet mite) (Tenuipalpidae) and their natural enemies (Phytoseiidae and Stigmaeidae family members) were compared in two apple orchards during the years 2000 to 2002 in Tokat, Turkey. One orchard was pesticide-free, and the other was sprayed. Surveys were carried out once a week from April to November and the differences in the dominant species of spider mites and phytoseiid mites between the two orchards were recorded. In the sprayed orchard, the dominant phytophagous mites wereA. vienensis andP. ulmi whereas in the unsprayed orchardE uncatus andC pulcher were abundant. It was found that the predatory mites were able to control spider mites in the unsprayed orchard, but the population level was not adequate to control them in the sprayed orchard, presumably due to the excessive use of pesticides.  相似文献

棉叶螨危害致使棉花生理和代谢发生紊乱是造成棉花减产的内在原因。1984—1985年,作者采用人工接螨和控制螨量的方法,任其自然繁殖28天,使各处理株间出现螨量和被害指数梯度,然后测定各处理株主要生理参数及其产量。结果表明,当全株每叶初接螨量在5头以上、螨群最高繁殖量高于35头时,处理株比对照株组织水势增高13.11—34.31%;叶绿素含量减少39.60—62.50%;光合强度减弱23.47—89.29%;过氧化氢酶活性降低22.79—48.04%;呼吸强度变化差异不显著。棉叶中可溶性糖、全氮、全磷损失显著,营养恶化。单株籽棉重降低35.18—45.10%,平均铃重降低24.34—35.53%。据此,确定棉叶螨防治标准为全株平均每叶螨量20头。  相似文献

三种杀螨剂对山楂叶螨的毒力评价   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
为筛选出高效防治山楂叶螨Amphitetranychus viennensis Zacher的杀螨剂,利用玻片浸渍法和叶片残毒法测定了3种杀螨剂对其3种螨态的室内毒力,并对不同浓度杀螨剂的田间防效进行了测定。结果表明:240 g/L螺螨酯、110 g/L乙螨唑和43%联苯肼酯中仅联苯肼酯对山楂叶螨雌成螨有毒力,其LC50为37.65 mg/L;3种杀螨剂均能毒杀卵及幼螨,毒力大小依次为乙螨唑联苯肼酯螺螨酯;同一杀螨剂对幼螨的毒力均高于对卵的毒力。240 g/L螺螨酯和110 g/L乙螨唑对山楂叶螨的总体防效较好,除螺螨酯4 000倍液处理的防效在药后30 d达到最大97.11%外,其余各处理均在药后15 d达到最大,防效为88.76%~96.14%;但二者速效性较差,药后1~7 d防效均低于对照;而螺螨酯4 000、5 000倍液处理及乙螨唑5 000倍液处理的持效性较好,药后30 d防效仍有97.11%、90.90%和93.06%,均显著高于对照。43%联苯肼酯对山楂叶螨的总体防效在3种杀螨剂中最高,其1 800、2 500倍液处理分别在药后7 d和3 d时防效达到最大99.79%和98.64%;1~7 d防效为97.45%~99.79%,显著高于其余杀螨剂和对照;30 d时防效分别达98.14%和96.19%,速效性和持效性均较好。表明螺螨酯和乙螨唑对山楂叶螨的持效性较好,联苯肼酯则有良好的速效性和持效性,可以按照其不同特点推广应用。  相似文献

The present study was carried out in a flat storeroom in central Greece, filled with approximately 60 tons of newly harvested wheat, in order to evaluate the population dynamics of stored-product mites and their predators in connection with horizontal and vertical distribution. At 15-day intervals, from July 2000 until March 2001, three replicates were taken from each sampling point at depths of 0–40, 40–80 and 80–120 cm, with a partitioned grain trier. The sampling points were divided into two zones, namely, central and peripheral. Air temperature, relative humidity, grain moisture and grain temperature were recorded during the sampling period. Twenty-four mite taxa were found, the dominant species beingTyrophagus putrescentiae (Schrank) andAcaropsis docta (Berlese). The numbers of these species varied significantly in the two zones and at the three depths. More individuals were found in the center compared with the periphery of the wheat bulk, and at the surface of the bulk than at greater depths. 为评估转cry1Ab/cry2Aj、cry1Ab/vip3DA玉米对棉铃虫Helicoverpa armigera(Hübner)、甜菜夜蛾Spodoptera exigua(Hübner)和斜纹夜蛾Prodenia litura(Fabricius)的抗虫性,在室内测定了3个转cry1Ab/cry2Aj玉米品系和1个转cry1Ab/vip3DA玉米品系对3种害虫幼虫存活和生长发育的影响,研究了该系列Bt玉米不同组织器官对害虫的杀虫活性和控制效果。结果显示,棉铃虫初孵幼虫取食各品系Bt玉米叶片96h后死亡率为87.50%~90.00%,取食花丝和雌穗的幼虫96h后几乎全部死亡;甜菜夜蛾初孵幼虫取食各品系Bt玉米叶片、花丝和雌穗168h后死亡率为22.50%~68.33%,幼虫的生长发育受到明显抑制,体重抑制率达85.00%~95.00%;斜纹夜蛾初孵幼虫取食各品系Bt玉米叶片、花丝和雌穗96 h后死亡率显著高于非转基因亲本对照,168h后幼虫死亡率达90.00%以上。研究表明,转cry1Ab/cry2Aj和cry1Ab/vip3DA玉米品系对棉铃虫和斜纹夜蛾的初孵幼虫表现出较好的抗性,可以作为转多基因抗虫玉米育种的备选材料。  相似文献

为明确新型复配杀螨剂联肼·乙螨唑对目前蔬菜田常发生的2种优势叶螨二斑叶螨Tetranychus urticae和截形叶螨T. truncatus的杀螨活性,于室内采用离体叶碟法测定其对这2种叶螨产卵及发育的影响,于室外采用活体植株评价该药剂对2种叶螨的田间防效。结果表明,经复配杀螨剂联肼·乙螨唑及其单剂处理2种叶螨雌成螨24 h后,死亡率为20.50%~54.98%,均显著高于清水对照;联肼·乙螨唑处理较清水对照显著降低了2种叶螨卵发育至若螨期的比率,联肼·乙螨唑处理后二斑叶螨和截形叶螨的若螨率分别为4.91%和1.63%。田间试验中联肼·乙螨唑对2种叶螨具有一定的速效性,药后3 d对二斑叶螨和截形叶螨的防效分别达95.74%和89.83%,药后7 d防效分别为98.03%和99.44%,显示了优良的防控效果及持效性。表明复配杀螨剂联肼·乙螨唑可用于田间蔬菜优势叶螨种群的高效防控。  相似文献

为明确木薯同源四倍体抗螨的生理机制,以华南205(South China 205,SC205)木薯的二倍体及其同源四倍体为试验材料,分别于朱砂叶螨Tetranychus cinnabarinus取食胁迫前(取食0 d)及取食胁迫后1、4和8 d观察两个倍性植株叶片的受害情况并测量叶片中叶绿素、游离脯氨酸、丙二醛(malondialdehyde,MDA)、次生代谢物质含量和主要保护酶活性的变化。结果显示,朱砂叶螨取食胁迫后SC205四倍体叶片受害情况较SC205二倍体的轻;取食胁迫后1、4和8 d木薯SC205四倍体叶片中叶绿素含量下降幅度比SC205二倍体的小;取食胁迫后1、4和8 d两个倍性木薯叶片中MDA和游离脯氨酸含量均呈上升的趋势,其中SC205四倍体叶片中MDA含量的上升幅度比SC205二倍体的小,而游离脯氨酸含量的上升幅度比SC205二倍体的大;取食胁迫后1、4和8 d两个倍性木薯叶片中过氧化氢酶(catalase,CAT)、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase,SOD)、过氧化物酶(peroxidase,POD)活性和单宁、总酚、总黄酮含量较取食胁迫前均显著上升,且SC205四倍体的上升幅度比SC205二倍体的大。表明木薯同源四倍体植株的抗螨性与叶绿素、游离脯氨酸、MDA、保护酶活性及次生代谢物质含量变化有关,它们均参与了木薯对朱砂叶螨取食胁迫的诱导型防御反应。  相似文献

Dosage mortality data for 12 pesticides were determined with females of an insecticide-susceptible strain of the carmine spider mite,Tetranychus cinnabarinus (Boisd.), by the slide dip method; for four of the pesticides which are specific acaricides, also the Munger cell method was used. The LC50s ranged from 0.00078% to 0.041%, with the synthetic pyrethroids being more toxic than the specific acaricides. There were no differences in results between the two assay methods. Four synthetic pyrethroids that were very active againstT. cinnabarinus in laboratory tests were examined in an unsprayed apple orchard for their effect on the population density of spider mites. 为明确李树上新纪录害虫北亚脉扁蜂Neurotoma sibirica的生物学特性,通过田间调查和室内饲养观察,记述该虫的形态特征、生活史及生物学特性。结果表明,北亚脉扁蜂在吉林省吉林市1年发生1代,以老熟幼虫在树下5~15 cm深的土层中做土室越冬。每年4月中旬幼虫开始化蛹,5月上旬成虫羽化出土,5月中旬为成虫盛期,成虫产卵从5月上旬持续到5月下旬,单雌产卵量为13~43粒,卵期5~9 d。6月上旬为北亚脉扁蜂幼虫为害盛期,幼虫为6龄或7龄,幼虫期14~21 d,6月中、下旬老熟幼虫陆续入土越冬。北亚脉扁蜂幼虫在李、紫叶李、杏、榆叶梅4种寄主上均可完成发育,在自然条件下李树受害率可达100%,紫叶李树受害率为40%,杏树受害率为20%。北亚脉扁蜂天敌有龟纹瓢虫Propylea japonica、异色瓢虫Harmonia axyridis、斯马蜂Polistes snelleni、日本弓背蚁Camponotus japonicus、2种姬蜂及1种病原菌。  相似文献

To establish control thresholds for chemical control of powdery mildew (Erysiphe cruciferarum) on Brussels sprouts, mildew intensity on leaves and buds was observed on the cultivars Lunet, Tardis and Asgard during three years in unsprayed plots. Mildew infection on the leaves was observed from late August onwards, increasing to moderate or high levels. In one year light infestation of the buds was observed, but no reduction in quality occurred. These preliminary results indicate, that from late August onwards the following levels of leaf injury by powdery mildew can be tolerated: T=5+0.42*(Julian date — 235), in which T is the tolerable leaf injury in percentage leaf area covered. When sampling the crop to assess powdery mildew infection, care must be taken that leaves are sampled from all stem positions, as top leaves tend to be much less infected.  相似文献

Phyllonorycter apparella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855) (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) is a new record for the Turkish fauna and a new trembling aspen(Populus tremula L.) pest for Turkey. Its biology, damage and infestation ratio were studied in Sankami?. (Kars), Turkey, during 1996 and 1997.P. apparella has one generation a year. The developmental stages of the pest are described briefly. P.apparella hibernates in the adult stage. At the beginning of June, the adults appear. Females deposit their eggs on both leaf surfaces, generally one by one, 7–10 days after emerging. The early instars (sap-feeding larvae) start to mine mostly from the underside of leaves. Each mine has one larva, and each leaf may have up to 26 mines. The last instar (tissue-feeding larva) begins to pupate in the mine after mid August. The adults emerge from mid September to the beginning of October, and move to the trunks of old pine trees, where they hibernate in bark crevices. The infestation level may be as high as 90% of the leaves on some trees.  相似文献
