Faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is one of the important pulse crops grown in many parts of the world. Its production and productivity are affected by different biotic and abiotic stresses. Broomrape (Orobanche and Phelipanche spp.) causes yield losses of 7- 80% in major faba bean growing countries mainly in the Mediterranean Basin and Nile Valley countries. Host plant resistance is found to be the most effective and economic method of broomrape control. Efforts made at the International Center for Agriculture Research in the Dry Areas over many years to develop advanced breeding lines with acceptable resistance and tolerance levels to broomrape have resulted in the identification of several useful breeding lines. These lines were shared with National Agricultural Research Systems (Egypt, Sudan, Tunisia and Portugal) as part of the Faba Bean Orobanche International Nursery, in order to test their stability across three seasons (2005, 2006 and 2007). The results showed that Orobanche plant number, dry weight, Orobanche index, flowering date, maturing date and grain yield were significantly different among lines and locations. AMMI analysis showed that some lines derived from hybrid bulk populations “HBP/DS0/2000” and “HBP/ES0/2000” showed acceptable levels of yield stability in the presence of Orobanche infections across all environments compared with susceptible check. In highly infested soils, the tolerant and resistant lines gave acceptable levels of yield compared with the susceptible check. However, the yield potential of resistant and tolerant lines in non-infested soils was lower than the highly susceptible check.  相似文献

Several broomrape species including Orobanche crenata, Orobanche foetida and Phelipanche aegyptiaca are reported to infect various grain and forage legumes in the Mediterranean and West Asia. Pea (Pisum sativum) is severely damaged by O. crenata, but there are no reports on O. foetida or P. aegyptiaca infection. We report here that pea can induce high germination of seeds of O. crenata, O. foetida and P. aegyptiaca but only O. crenata success infecting pea roots and developing further. Some differences in levels of infection by O. crenata were observed among pea accessions what can be exploited in pea resistance breeding programmes. On the contrary, all pea accessions studied were highly resistant to infection by both O. foetida and P. aegyptiaca, preventing any tubercle attachment and development. This makes pea a promising candidate as trap crop for O. foetida and P. aegyptiaca seed bank demise in infested soils.  相似文献

Crenate broomrape (Orobanche crenata Forks.) is a major constraint for grain and forage legume cultivation in Mediterranean agriculture, to which little resistance is available. We studied the response to O. crenata of a germplasm collection of chickling pea (Lathyrus cicera L.) in field trials over two seasons showing that resistance although scarce and masked by confounding factors, is available and can be used in breeding. The level of infection was highly influenced by environmental factors and plant growth cycle. Earlier accessions were less infected due to competition of the earlier settled pods with O. crenata tubercles. O. crenata infection strongly reduced host biomass and grain yield. Deviations from the polynomic regression gave an improved approximation of the true genetic resistance levels present in the germplasm.  相似文献

Long-term field studies were conducted at two locations to describe the spatial distribution and temporal stability of Orobanche crenata infestation in faba bean. Spatial analysis with distance indices (SADIE) was used to provide aggregation indices for the distribution of O. crenata at different times. Grain legume production in the Mediterranean area is threatened by the holoparasitic plant Orobanche crenata to which little resistance is available in affected crops. Berseem clover is a forage legume of economic importance in Eastern Mediterranean region and tropical areas. It has been suggested as a suitable trap crop for controlling O. crenata. In this work we propose its use as an inter-crop with grain legumes. We describe its allelopathic activity against germination of O. crenata seeds. Results are supported by three years of field experimentation in Egypt with a significant reduction of O. crenata infection on faba bean and pea inter-cropped with berseem clover. Mini-rhizotron experiments demonstrated the reduction of O. crenata infection on pea, lentil and chickling pea.  相似文献

The holoparasitic weed Orobanche cumana (sunflower broomrape) constrains sunflower (Helianthus annuus) production in many countries. The development of efficient control strategies requires an understanding of the processes underlying the complex environment–host–parasite interrelations. Growth and development of O. cumana and sunflower were quantified under field conditions in southeastern Romania. Sunflower hybrid Florom 350 was sown at two dates, in plots infested with 0, 50, 200 and 1600 viable O. cumana seeds kg−1 dry soil, under low-input (rainfed, low nitrogen supply) and high-input (irrigated, high nitrogen supply) conditions. Sunflower shoot biomass reached peak values of 760–1287 g m−2 between the end of anthesis and physiological maturity. Seed yield varied from 221 to 446 g m−2. Sunflower biomass and yield were affected by all experimental factors. Seed yield responded positively to delaying sowing from early April to late May as well as to irrigation and fertilisation, and negatively to O. cumana infestation. Yield reductions, which were a product of reduced seed number and size, amounted to 13%, 25% and 37% at parasite seed densities of 50, 200 and 1600 viable seeds kg−1 soil, respectively. Maximum O. cumana attachment numbers, recorded in late-sown high-input crops in 2004, ranged from 11 m−2 in plots with 50 parasite seeds kg−1 soil to 188 m−2 with 1600 seeds kg−1 soil. Parasite attachment number was a function of crop sowing date, water and nutrient supply, seedbank density, and sunflower biomass and root length density, via mechanisms of parasite seed stimulation, host carrying capacity and intraspecific competition. Delayed sowing and improved water and nitrogen supply were associated with increases in parasite number that neutralised yield-boosting effects of irrigation and fertilisation at the highest infestation level. Sunflower shoot biomass was significantly reduced by O. cumana infection, with reductions affecting organs in the order head > stem > leaves. Most of the discrepancy between infected and non-infected plants was accounted for by O. cumana biomass. Parasites mainly acted as an extra sink for assimilates during sunflower generative growth and impaired host photosynthesis to a much lesser degree. Results suggest that similar mechanisms govern infection level and host–parasite biomass partitioning across different Orobanche–host systems.  相似文献

Heavy infestation of faba bean fields by Orobanche foetida is an emerging problem in Tunisia. Field trials during three consecutive crop seasons demonstrated the resistance of three genotypes to O. foetida, including the cv. Baraca, selected for resistance to O. crenata, and two Tunisian breeding lines, Bader and XBJ90.03-16-1-1-1. Resistant genotypes displayed a parasitism index two-fold lower than that of the susceptible checks. They carried 2–8 times less of tubercle attachments and 2–3 times less of emerged parasite spikes at pod setting stage and at crop maturity, respectively. Seed-yield losses by parasitism reached 90% for the susceptible checks and were two-fold lower for the resistant genotypes. Parasitism affected negatively the protein/starch ratio of seeds of both susceptible and resistant genotypes. The line XBJ90.03-16-1-1-1 was the best candidate for registration because of better productivity in non-infested fields and production of high-weight seeds.  相似文献

Pm4是我国目前有效的小麦抗白粉病基因之一,该基因对陕西关中当前流行的白粉病菌系关中4号表现高抗。本研究利用与Pm4基因紧密连锁的STS470分子标记对7个小麦品种间的6个杂交组合F3代单株进行分子标记检测并结合田间抗性鉴定筛选出抗病单株14个。对由这14个单株衍生出的64个F5代品系进行分子检测和田间抗性鉴定,发现53个品系表现抗病,占总品系的82.81%,其中51个抗病品系可以检测到与Pm4基因紧密连锁的STS470特异带,占总品系的79.69%。本研究结果表明,STS470是Pm4基因的可靠标记,可有效的用于分子标记辅助育种。  相似文献

Broomrapes (Orobanche spp. and Phelipanche spp.) are weedy root parasites that represent a major constraint for faba bean (Vicia faba) cultivation in the Mediterranean area. Control methods are being developed that comprise techniques ranging from agronomical practices to precision farming, including chemical and biological control, genetic and induced resistance, modelling, and probably nanotechnology in a nearby future. However, the main concern is that to date, no single method of control provides complete protection against these parasites. For that reason, an integrated approach is needed in which a variety of such techniques are combined, in order to maintain parasite populations below threshold levels of damage.  相似文献

In Egypt, some newly derived lines of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) as well as Giza 402, all of which had shown a certain resistance against the parasitic weed Orobanche crenata Forsk., were tested in the field. For reasons of comparison, the susceptible cultivars Giza 3 and Reina Blanca were included in this test. Faba bean plants and Orobanche attachments were regularly harvested and examined. The susceptible cultivars completely collapsed before the end of the growing season, whereas others, particularly line 402/294, remained alive until pod formation was completed. It appeared that fewer Orobanche spikes emerged on the new lines and Giza 402. Evidence is given that this was not due to avoidance mechanisms, such as smaller root mass, a deeper root system or lack of germination stimulants. Numbers of Orobanche attachments per unit of lateral root length were found to be low. Hence, it could be concluded that these lines are partially resistant; this resistance must be due to some defence mechanism in their roots. The few Orobanche plants attached grew very fast so that final Orobanche dry weight was similar in resistant and susceptible host plants. Further experiments, including broomrape-free controls, are required to study whether some tolerance mechanism might be involved.  相似文献

位于小麦3BS染色体上的赤霉病抗性主效基因Fhb1的效应较大而且比较稳定,是培育抗赤霉病品种最常用和最可靠的位点。我国小麦地方品种黄方柱(HFZ)高抗赤霉病且在3BS染色体上携带Fhb1基因。本研究对HFZ/Wheaton重组自交系(RIL)群体的Fhb1位点进行分子标记检测,筛选到两个杂合子株系,并对这两个杂合子株系连续自交3代,衍生出2个次级分离群体(L30和L112),将这两个次级分离群体在扬州大学农学院试验田种植,并在扬花期进行单花滴注接种鉴定赤霉病,调查这两个群体中各株系的病小穗数、病小穗率、病粒数和病粒率。结果表明,L30和L112两个群体的病小穗数和病小穗率均显著正相关,病粒数和病粒率均显著正相关。同时依据小麦3B染色体参考序列开发了7个新的多态性标记,分别是 X1550X2214X2300X2357X2455X2460X2467。用这些多态性分子标记进行基因型检测,在目标位点发现5个交换株系,根据基因型和病小穗率,进一步将Fhb1定位在分子标记 X2214X2357之间,在ctg0954b上这两个分子标记之间的物理距离约为143 kb,NCBI预测该区间有3个候选基因,但是FGENESH在相同区段预测了29个基因,说明目标区段所具有的基因数目很可能多于3个,但少于29个。  相似文献

低分子量谷蛋白亚基(LMWGS)与小麦品质密切相关。为了给陕西小麦的品质改良提供参考依据,采用STS分子标记,检测了175份陕西小麦品种(系) GluA3 GluB3位点的等位变异组成。结果表明,陕西小麦 GluA3位点存在4种等位变异,即 GluA3a GluA3b GluA3c GluA3d,分别占12.6%、1.7%、58.3%和27.4%; GluB3位点存在8种等位变异,即 GluB3a GluB3b GluB3d GluB3e GluB3f GluB3g GluB3i GluB3j,分别占4.6%、2.9%、45.7%、0.6%、2.9%、8.5%、4.0%和30.8%。在陕西不同地区小麦之间,两个位点等位变异的种类、组合及其分布比例存在差异,这可能与地区间不同的自然地理环境、饮食习惯、育种目标及亲本选择有关。  相似文献

Summary The resistance to common scab of nine cultivars and eight advanced breeding lines of potatoes, fiveSolanum andigenum Juz. et Buk. clones, and three potato breeding lines selected for resistance to common scab, was investigated in a field and a pot trial. In the pot trial potaroes were planted in inoculated coarse river sand in plastic pots (150 mm in diameter) placed on irrigated subsoil in a glassfibre house. In a field trial potatoes were planted in an artificially infested field. The harvested tubers were scored individually for scab incidence according to two scales, viz. a 1–5 point scale for percentage surface covered with scab and a 1–3 point scale for lesion type. A scab index value was calculated for each tuber. A significant correlation coefficient of 0.82 was obtained for the results of the two tests.  相似文献

干旱缺水是引起全球作物减产的主要自然灾害。小麦水分高效利用遗传改良是一个重大课题。本文对小麦水分高效利用分子标记、功能基因克隆鉴定、转基因、分子设计育种等方面的国内外研究进展进行了综述。在小麦中已经鉴定出A组染色体上存在控制水分利用效率的QTL;开发出与TaSAP1等基因紧密连锁的功能标记;克隆了转录因子基因TaWRKY并对其抗旱抗逆功能进行了鉴定;转HVA1和DREB等基因的小麦可以明显提高水分高效利用能力;利用水旱地品种进行轮回杂交结合分子标记辅助选择育种技术进行了小麦水分高效利用分子设计育种初探。以上研究进展为小麦水分高效利用遗传改良提供了理论依据和技术支撑。  相似文献

陕西小麦品种(系)籽粒黄色素含量基因的检测及其分布   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
为了解陕西小麦Psy-A1和Psy-B1位点控制籽粒黄色素含量基因的等位变异组成和分布,利用其功能标记YP7A、YP7A-2、YP7B-1、YP7B-2和YP7B-3,对176份陕西小麦品种(系)的2个位点等位变异进行检测与分析.结果表明,在Psy-A1位点,陕西小麦品种(系)存在2种等位变异,即Psy-A1a(高黄色素舍量)和Psy-A1b(低黄色素含量),各占50.0%,没有发现含Psy-A1c等位变异的品种(系);在Psy-B1位点,陕西小麦品种(系)内存在3种等住变异,其中以Psy-B1b(低黄色素含量)为主(65.3%),Psy-B1a(中等黄色素含量)次之(27.3%),Psy-B1c(高黄色素含量)较少(7.4%),没有发现舍Psy-B1d等位变异的品种(系).不同变异组合类型的平均分布比例表现不同,Psy-A1b/Psy-B1b组合类型所占的比例最高,为39.2%;其次是Psy-A1a/Psy-B1b组合类型,为26.1%;组合Psy-A1a/Psy-B1a(17.6%)、Psy-A1b/Psy-B1a(9.7%)和Psy-A1a/Psy-B1c(6.3%)比例较低,Psy-A1b/Psy-B1c(1.1 %)所占比例最低.不同地区不同等位变异及其组合类型的分布比例不同.总体来看,陕西小麦品种(系)中低黄色素含量的等住变异类型所占的比例较高.陕西不同地区育种目标和种植要求的差异,造成了不同地区小麦品种黄色素含量基因组成的不同.本研究所用分子标记扩增出的PCR奈带清晰,且稳定性好,可作为小麦黄色素含量分子标记辅助选择的有效工具.  相似文献

Using symbiotically N2-fixing legumes as green manures is a way to supply N from the atmosphere to cropping ecosystems. Usually whole plants of the green manure are incorporated into soil; hence, the belowground parts as well as the aboveground parts would contribute to N transfer to succeeding crops. However, little is known about the contribution of the belowground parts alone. We assessed N transfer from belowground parts compared to whole plants of two legumes, Crotalaria spectabilis and Sesbania rostrata. Each of the legumes was grown approximately for 3 months in a 1/2000a Wagner pot filled with soil media, and then the roots alone (R) or shoot and root (S + R) were harvested and incorporated in the pots. Tendergreen mustard (Brassica rapa) as the succeeding crop was grown for 66 days in these pots without additional fertilizer. Although the amount of N in green manure in S + R pots was approximately 4-fold higher than that in R pots, differences in N uptake by tendergreen mustard between the S + R and R pots were smaller (1.7-fold for C. spectabilis and 2.3-fold for S. rostrata). This means that N recovery rate by tendergreen mustard was significantly higher in R than in S + R pots with either green manures. Differences in C/N ratio of the green manures could not likely explain the higher N recovery rate in R pots. Bioassay of the aqueous extracts from the green manure with lettuce seedlings suggested that growth inhibitory effects might be responsible for the lower recovery rate in S + R treatment.  相似文献

小麦WRKY转录因子在抗旱抗逆等方面有重要作用。为小麦抗旱抗逆分子模块组装育种提供参考,本研究在已有小麦TaWRKY2基因cDNA序列(GenBank登录号:EU665425)的基础上,从小麦品种晋麦79号中克隆获得TaWRKY2基因全长序列,并对TaWRKY2的基因结构、基因组信息进行研究,同时检测其在部分小麦亲缘种、黄淮麦区水旱地代表品种、本课题组选育的高代品系及部分水旱地杂交组合F1代中的分布。结果表明,克隆所得到的TaWRKY2基因全长DNA序列包含4个外显子和3个内含子,其中,3个内含子长度变化范围为111~172 bp;外显子和内含子的交接处序列符合GT-AG原则;与乌拉尔图小麦(Triticum urartu,AA)和粗山羊草(Aegilops tauschii,DD)中的片段序列同源性分别为93%和99%,与中国春小麦(AABBDD)1AS、1BS和1DS染色体的片段序列同源性分别为93%、88%和99%。除野生一粒小麦外,在小麦进化祖先种、黄淮海水旱地推广的代表品种、课题组选育的高代品系及F1代共78份材料中,都能够检测出该基因的普遍存在,说明该基因可应用于小麦抗旱抗逆分子设计育种中。  相似文献

Abstract

Water chestnut is an aquatic annual herb, and its fresh, edible fruit is a valuable crop. The huge variation in growth and yield of water chestnuts has not been well documented. In this study, the yield performance of 17 water chestnut lines, eight from China (Trapa acornis L., T. bicornis L., T. bispinosa Roxb, T. quadrispinosa Roxb), one from France (T. natans L.), one from India (T. bispinosa Roxb.), three from Italy (T. natans L.), three from Japanese (T. incisa L., T. japonica Flerov, T. natans.L. var. rubeola Makino), and one from Korean (T. japonica Flerov.) were cultivated in Saga City, Japan during the summer, 2005, and the morphological characters of their fruit were analyzed. European lines were early flowering, but had a lower yield due to poor canopy density and lower rosette density. All the Asian lines had a higher rosette density. In spite of the smaller number of fruits per rosette, the Chinese lines had a higher yield than the other lines because the fruit was larger. The yield performance of the Indian line was similar to that of the Chinese lines. The Korean and Japanese lines produced a large number of small fruits per unit land area. Apart from the variation in fruit size, a huge variation in shape including the height, width and the spines were observed. Path analysis revealed that productive rosette number m-2 and the single fresh fruit weight are two direct yield determinants while number of fruits per rosette has indirect negative influence on yield via productive rosette number and single fruit weight.  相似文献

为给培育大麦持续性抗白粉病品种提供有价值的抗源,利用7个大麦白粉病菌优势小种,在实验室条件下分别接种139份大麦品种(系),进行苗期抗性鉴定,同时于2009-2011年度在云南保山对参试品种(系)进行田间成株期抗性鉴定,并考查成株期抗病材料的农艺性状.结果表明,参试品种(系)在苗期对7个优势小种表现出48个不同的抗性反应谱,13个大麦品种(系)能抗所有参试的优势小种,22个大麦品种(系)能抗4~6个优势小种.25个大麦品种(系)具有成株期抗病性.大麦苗期抗性与成株期抗性并不完全一致,但苗期抗优势小种数较多的材料中,成株期表现抗性的也较多,5个苗期抗所有优势小种的大麦品种(系)均表现出成株期抗性.25个成株期抗病品种(系)中18个为二棱皮大麦,7个为多棱裸大麦,它们株高、穗长、穗粒数扣千粒重的变异系数较大,二棱皮大麦株高、穗长、穗粒数和千粒重的变异系数分别为10.3%、15.0%、12.0%和20.6%,多棱裸大麦分别为18.3%、26.4%、19.5%和22.8%.  相似文献
