Abstract: | The ash dieback pathogen Hymenosycphus fraxineus can form ascocarps on pseudosclerotial leaf rachises of Fraxinus excelsior not only in the year after leaf fall but also on older rachises, at least up to five growing seasons after the leaves have been shed. The significance of this finding for the epidemiology of ash dieback is discussed. |
