Using the new method, namely Fixed Soil Core Eu Tracer(FSCET), the temporal and spatial distribution of soil erosion was studied on loess slope field under different land use patterns. The results show that the new method is applicable to loess slope fields where sheet and rill erosion are dominate erosion; temporal distribution of erosion is consistent with that of rainfall; rainstorm period is the peak period of soil erosion in a year; in the complex landscapes, the steep and gentle slopes appear to be strong or week erosion and deposition, which can be quantified by vertical distribution of soil erosion; soil erosion rate decrease in the order: young walnut>Chinese scholartree>waste grassland>alfalfa.
